✘StayRock✘ Posted August 6, 2013 Posted August 6, 2013 Oh Love. KYE is a great song to play live ---> KYE 1 - Oh Love 0
HolyHandGrenade Posted August 6, 2013 Posted August 6, 2013 I think people would like Oh Love a lot more if it wasn't the first single and instead the second or third. A lot of pressure and hate goes on first singles. I think the issue was aggravated even further by the fact that Oh Love was the ONLY single to get air play, due to Billie's rehab. If the promotion had continued, resulting in a bigger spotlight for their other singles, I doubt the fan base (including me) would be so hard on Oh Love.
dangreenday Posted August 6, 2013 Posted August 6, 2013 gonna have 2 choose oh love BUTTT i dont think it was a bad choice - i love it !
Isabel Posted August 6, 2013 Posted August 6, 2013 Toss up between KYE or Oh Love. Both completely awful representations of their respective albums. both had terrible videos too.
Tubbie Head Posted August 6, 2013 Posted August 6, 2013 Oh Love, it's not even great live... Know Your Enemy is.
James a Green Day Fan Posted August 6, 2013 Posted August 6, 2013 Oh Love of course. It is the weakest song in UNO. I would of chose Rusty James, Nuclear Family or Stay the Night
belinda jane Posted August 6, 2013 Posted August 6, 2013 i don't think 'oh love' was the right song to choose to invite everyone into the trilogy. it didn't get me excited about the trilogy any more than i already was, and i think they should've chosen something like 'let yourself go' or 'nuclear family'. something really upbeat and fun.
ZSebs Posted August 6, 2013 Posted August 6, 2013 It depends what you mean by worst choice of a lead single. I noticed a lot of people are saying KYE, but in reality, the single did great in promoting the album. It had huge radio play, everyone knows the song, so obviously it was not a terrible choice as a single. Honestly, I think every lead single was good, but I would choose Oh Love only because it didn't do a great job promoting the album, and it is just too long
Annie, get your gun Posted August 6, 2013 Posted August 6, 2013 Didn't vote. To me there's no worst and I'm very sorry most people consider Know Your Enemy as the worst so far... not fair
Todd Posted August 6, 2013 Posted August 6, 2013 I chose Longview, for me it's not of the best Dookie songs But it's one of Green Day's most succesful songs. So I don't see why you chose it. This isn't a favorite single poll
boringdays Posted August 6, 2013 Posted August 6, 2013 I ain't gonna get popularity points for this one, but I generally don't like their lead singles. Longview, hitchin a ride, american idiot and know your enemy are all some of my least favorite Green Day songs. Oh Love has gone on me but I do think it was a bad way to introduce UNO as it doesn't really feel like the majority of the album, the def should of opened with Nuclear Family.
NaughtyHellGod Posted August 6, 2013 Posted August 6, 2013 It has to be KYE. I just don't think it was strong enough to be a lead song especially with 21stCB having a few stronger song.
armatage Posted August 6, 2013 Posted August 6, 2013 I voted for Oh Love since KYE, although a relatively weak track, appealed to masses and was on tv somewhat frequently, whereas I've never seen Oh Love on MTV or anything.
kerplunkerr Posted August 6, 2013 Posted August 6, 2013 Finally found this kind of topic! I HATE Oh Love, and i think it is the worst song ever. The fact that i think that ¡UNO! ends with Rusty James says alot! edit: and also the wrong option for the come back thing
Overjoyyed Posted August 6, 2013 Posted August 6, 2013 I think stay the night or nuclear family should have been the opener- oh love is so mehhh- okay live but it's not a strong song. Know your enemy was also a wrong choice in my opinion- They should have just released 21CB first! and not release KYE as a single- it's a great song live but it doesn't really make sense as a single.
Guest Posted August 7, 2013 Posted August 7, 2013 Finally found this kind of topic! I HATE Oh Love, and i think it is the worst song ever. The fact that i think that ¡UNO! ends with Rusty James says alot! edit: and also the wrong option for the come back thing But Uno ends with Oh Love...?
Jhei Morisato Posted August 7, 2013 Posted August 7, 2013 I can't decide, Oh Love is a good song and I think it worked well to tease us for the trilogy.
St. Christian Of Suburbia Posted August 7, 2013 Posted August 7, 2013 Might as well change the title to "Know Your Enemy vs. Oh Love - Which is a worse lead single?"
Alan86 Posted August 7, 2013 Posted August 7, 2013 Has to be Oh Love. I like the song but it just does not work as a lead single. Its one of my favourite songs to play on guitar lately.
don'tdreamitbeit Posted August 7, 2013 Posted August 7, 2013 I chose KYE because I don't like the recording of it, thought I do admit that it is great live. I am really happy that no one has voted for American Idiot, which I think was one of the best first singles that they ever put out.
Guest Posted August 7, 2013 Posted August 7, 2013 I chose Geek Stink Breath because I hate it and also because I never ever recall EVER hearing it get air-time. Coz you remember all the songs on the radio from when you were 6
