Flitzpiepe Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 Hope it's not too late already. Anyways, I found a few words and sent them in. Billie Joe, first of all, I want to thank your from the bottom of my heart. Your music has opened my mind about music, about what music actually is, about the way I think of music and what music means to me in my life. So I can say, that you changed my life. Because of you I started playing guitar (even though I suck, but I don’t give a shit- it’s so much fun!) and your music helped me to get over the divorce of my parents. I was pretty down then, but I could brace up myself and go on with my life just because of your passion and thinking of music. You’re having so many reasons to get up and overcome your inner demons. At least your passion about making music and playing live should be one. Your family should be a reason as well as your bandmates. As I said before: You have the courage and the passion to overcome your demons, you will make it through it! We fans support you, as far as we can, but in the end it is your own fight. I do not have any doubts about your strength that you can make it through it. I wish you the very best for your recovery and we want to see you as crazy as you’re always have been on stage. But take your time and get some rest before you’re getting started. We will be waiting on the other side of the barrier, as always. Rage & Love from Germany, Lisa Schlopsna
Smoothed Out Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 Wow, such a nice idea. Everyone's are really sweet, Billie is going to love all the support he's getting. I'm going to `try` and piece something together now. Might post it on here later after I've sent it to K! Thanks for letting us know Mikey
greendaytodeathandback Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 Wow that is so great of Kerrang! I may write one and send it in. And post it here obviously
Schlappy Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 Dear Billie Joe, You're dealing with a lot right now and it was a bit scary to watch, but you should know that I’m not asking for an explanation and I’m not looking for excuses. None of that stuff matters right now, instead I want to make sure you know that your fans are here and we always will be supporting you. You, Mike, Tre, and Jason have made us feel a part of something when we needed sanctity the most, or at least given us one hell of a soundtrack to drown out all the bullshit. There’s no way we’re letting you down now. No matter what happens or how long it takes know that your wacky idiots will be lined up at the door to watch you overcome and kill it like you always do. I know you’ll brush this off and get back on your feet because you are pretty awesome like that. P.S. I am formally asking you if I can marry your baby. You see, ¡UNO! and I are in a committed relationship and it’s getting pretty serious… Hope that’s cool with you. Good luck, see you on the road! Allison Duquette
Florence Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 Kerrang! Magazine @KerrangMagazine Want to send your support to Billie Joe Armstrong? Email your letters/drawings/pics to feedback@kerrang.com for inclusion in next weeks mag! The next Kerrang! comes out tomorrow, right? I wanted to make a drawing, but I guess it's already too late. I'd need at least one day to finish it.
gerardsangel4977 Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 The next Kerrang! comes out tomorrow, right? I wanted to make a drawing, but I guess it's already too late. I'd need at least one day to finish it. I interpreted next week's to mean, well, *next* week's, if you catch my drift. The newst issue, out tomorrow, would've had to already go to print before they sent that weet out, I imagine.
Schlappy Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 I wanted to draw a nice picture for Billie... then i remembered i can't draw, so this happened Oh god why... dont think i should send it in haha!
Tubbie Head Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 I can't really read anything in this thread without starting to drop a bunch of tears. It would be amazing if he actually read them!

BigNate Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 Dear Billie, I know you and I have never met, but in some ways I cannot ever explain, your music has affected much of my life. In 1994, I was just a 9 year old kid who only knew of the music his parents played, mostly Elvis or other 50’s and 60’s era rock and roll. The groundwork was already in place for a musical base. Thirsting for something to listen to and not knowing even what MTV was at that point, I somehow convinced my Dad to sign up for the Columbia Record Club, 12 albums for a penny! (Yeah, not so much but that’s another story) Of the few albums he let me pick, one that looked cool and intriguing was Dookie. At the time, I had no idea what or who Green Day was, yet the album was named appropriately, so my young self thought it would at least be funny. After finally getting the tapes, yes tapes back then, I immediately put this record on and it was like the first time I’m sure my Dad and Mom listened to Elvis themselves. Burnout blazed out of my speakers and I just stared into it like it held all the answers to my world. I played this tape over and over until it could no longer be re-spooled. In short, I don’t think I can ever say how much that album and your words mean to me. Ok, enough about me, sorry! It pains me to think of the troubles you are having when you bring such joy to so many others. I know right now the personal problems and whatever else is troubling you may seem immense, but the support system you have of your family, friends, band mates and fans worldwide will never falter. We support you and pray for you like you’re our best friend. Everytime I want to see my friend Billie, I pop on a CD or if I’m lucky, he’s around to play a concert and have fun with me for 3 hours or more! I don’t know the harsh face of stardom and probably never will, but you seem confident and strong enough to take on the world from the stage in front of thousands of people, I know you can be strong enough to fight whatever is put in front of you. The music you make has made me who I am today and I could never thank you enough. From the bottom of my heart, I hope all troubles come to pass and your road to recovery is not dark and dangerous one. Rock on my friend, Nate Burkhardt
Smoothed Out Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 Okay, well I've written something anyway. I think I'm just going to email it before I end up scratching the whole thing, it's so hard to form something like this into words when there's so much to say. Billie Joe, Ever since I began listening to Green Day, you, Mike and Tré have always been there. Just there; in my life. Your lyrics have inspired me, provided a soundtrack to my memories, picked me up more times than I can remember and made me who I am today. I truly believe that you, Billie Joe, have been there for me when it truly counts. Even when those I thought were closest to me turned their backs. Thank you for that, I can’t form the words or the time to say how I truly feel because there’s simply too much. And I just wanted to say that now more than ever, it’s my time to give back to you as best as I know how. You’ve been there for me, now I’m here for you. I’m thinking about you and the entire Green Day family, best wishes. We love you. Rage & Love, Olivia (England)
stylesmanifest Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 Dear Billie, "Thank you" cannot even begin to comprehend nor grasp my unfaltering gratitude towards you and what you do. But right now it's all i can seem to come up with, "thank you" for always being here, sincere, and for basically being my soul savior. My martyr for my mind and all the other cliches that go under my undying love towards you, your music, and Green Day. You've been the crucifix for my emotions and interpreter for my high school and middle school days. Billie, you've saved so many lives, so I and along with millions of other 'idiots' want to return the favor. We will ALWAYS be here for you and support whatever it is you do. Shit, it's the least we can do. Please take care of yourself because we'd rather have one 'minutes' now than no 'minuets' forever. Sending all our love to you, Jasmine
Melissa-Whatsername Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 Dear Billie Joe First, I want to thank you for everything you've done for me so far! Actually I want to thank you for so many different things. I got into Green Day during the American Idiot area, short after my father passed away. I felt lonley and lost. The only thing that helped me dealing with this situation was this masterpiece CD called American Idiot. I do not know what I would be today if Green Day would not have been around that time. I owe you so much. You taught me how to express my feelings in words. I startet to write about my feelings due to your lyrics. I started to play the guitar because of you. I wanted to have the same guitar like you. I colored my hair black and started to put on black eyeliner because I wanted to show the world that I am inspired by you! Although we do not know each other I feel like you are the only person all over the world who is understanding me in any situation in life. You can make me happy. When I saw you live in concert, it was a dream which came true. I know for sure that I am not the only one who tells you this, but this is coming from the bottom of my heart. I have no idea what I would do if you would not be around. You are a very big part of my life and there is nothing I do love more than spending my time listening to your music. I look up to you, I look up to Mike and I look up to Tré. I love all of you and you are so important to me! You gave me so much the last eight years, now I want to give something back. I will always support and love you. It does not matter what will happen, I will always stand behind you and defend you! When I heared about what happened to you I was completely shocked. My world crashed and I was just sitting in front of my computer with tears running down my face. I want you to be healthy and happy! I wish you the very best! I wish I could have said this and many other things to you in person! Rage & Love from Switzerland

greeneyedgirl Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 Dear Billie Joe Armstrong, Although I'm only 16, I feel like I know so much more about the world because of you. Thank you so much for your music that is always there for me when I need a pick me up. Whatever you are going through, just know that your family and fans support you 100%. Nobody can be perfect, you're a human just like everyone else. Take as much time as you need because you have Green Day, a beautiful wife, and two wonderful sons who need you most of all. I want you to know you're the strongest person I know and you'll always be one of my heroes. rage and love, Sarah
Annie, get your gun Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 Is not too late to send something... right?
HitmonSal Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 Dearest Billie, I found out about the news of you on the day it was the 8th year of been a Green Day fan. 8 years of you saving my life. I found the news hard to take. I was shocked and numb. I couldnt bare the fact that you are struggling too. You are the most insperational person in my life and in some ways I wish I could be there to help you like through music you were there for me when I needed help. I have every respect for you in the world to accept help. A few months ago I finally realised I needed help with my problems having been diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder and on the road to recovery myself. I know that is probably nothing to you but the fact of the matter is. Its because of you and your music that I went for the help i desperatly needed. When I feel bad I always put a track on of yours to get me through the time and it really helps me. I know you can get through this time of your life and you will be in my thoughts every day. All I can do like the rest of the fans is wish you all the best and let you know that I like 1000s of other fans that we are all there for you. I thank you every day for everything you and the band has done for me. I wish you all the best Claire.
The Grohl Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 Billie, I don't know if you'll ever read this, but I just wanted to let you know that I hope everything turns out well for you. When I heard the news I was saddened as if a member of my own family needed help. At first I thought it was strange, but then I realized because of how you music has touched me and what a big part of my life it is, you sort of are a member of my family, but not just my family, but all the Green Day fans. We're all one big family. I always wanted to tell you out of all the musicians I admire, I respect you out of them all. The way you don't let anyone tell you or the band what to or what not to do really inspires me. The way you followed your dreams and stood up to everyone who said you would never make keeps me going everyday. I have ambitious dreams and often get laughed at for them, but whenever I hear your music, it reminds me not to give up. I don't know what happened that weekend when you decided to get help and frankly it's none of my business, but all I know is that I wish you, your family, and the rest of Green Day the best. But you never let anything get you down and I'm pretty sure you'll get through this. I just hope you know how much support you have from the fans and while we're all rocking out to the awesome UNO! I'm sure we'll all be thinking of you and hoping for a speedy recovery, so we can see you command the stage like you do so well. Best wishes to you and your family,
addicted_to Posted September 27, 2012 Posted September 27, 2012 I wrote one... is it too late to send these in? -------------------- Billie Joe, It is difficult to put into words how I feel about you and Green Day... I saw you play live in 2005 before I even knew who you were (I was only 15).. and naturally, you absolutely blew my f**king mind and there I was kicking myself that I hadn't known about Green Day all that time. I have an immense respect and admiration for everything that you do and all that you stand for in every single way. You helped me find myself that year and your lyrics have always followed me through my life. Since that year, Green Day have simply been a part of me. You are like family to me, even though I don't really know you, I feel close to you, Mike and Tre, like you are my distant best friends. You are so headstrong, intelligent, confident, mindblowingly talented and not afraid to say a big F**k you to the world. With all this, if there were anyone out there who I truly felt I could relate to, it would be you. You are a beautiful, amazing person and everything you do inspires me. So whatever challenges you are facing, just remember that there is an absolute flood of fans from all over the world completely losing sleep over you! We love you and you have touched so many lives just by being you! I know you can get through this, take all the time you need, we will all be here waiting for you when you get back. I love you's not enough, - Melissa
