Yaaay. I'll post a more detailed battle plan tommorow, but for tonight I'd like to get started on an official list of interested contributers (artistic and ideal). I'll try and leave room for people that come in late for the game but you that are already on board will have it much better.

And I agree, albums and videos over musical. I'm actually kind of tired of hearing about the musical.

So to catch you up to speed, as of last night American Idiot is officially our subject, as decided by the pol(e)l. Hopefully this one will go well and we will have an oppritunity to delve into the other albums we discussed. So now basically what I want to know is, who wants to join the team? ....er, squad. I have been keeping up with stuff, just not posting

I will definitely have a go with this so put me on the list, I like this choice because this album was the first GD album I owned and I love the story tbh. (reasons why and evrything on About Me page on profile - don't worry I know you won't look )

It's probably also best that we have an easy story to follow so that this first time we can concentrate on putting the thing together. But future stuff on albums more open to interpritation will be brilliant

How is this going to work - are you going to like assign songs to people or plot each bit and divide each track up or....something else altogether?

And how long is this going to run for, because depending on that I'll probably be able to get my art teacher's advice on stuff.

This is a cool idea. I've been wanting to do a graphic novel type thing inspired by Green Day's music for awhile, and I did an art series based on 21CBD for school last year. I'd be interested in helping : )

I have commented but since you included me in the uber quote list, I'll say that I'm in again. I'm not very good though unless there's something I can copy Perhaps some eh photography.

I think scene by scene is better.... if you go song by song only 12 people can take part, and some songs are really heavy on material (JOS for example) while others are very light (Are We The Waiting, Extraordinary Girl).

It would'nt be line by line for the whole thing... I'd only do it for the opening to "American Idiot" since is kinda like an intro/summary of the album. Also, it doesn't have much of a story to it. It's more of a statement... a statement of intent. ha. Once you're into JoS, it wouldn't need it... or maybe only select lines...

Ooh okay, I see. I like that idea! Both the introducing it with the lyrics, and perhaps later on when you're really in the story, occasionally a lyric in there.

Okay, to-do list. Here is the process we will be going through:

+Gather list of interested participants

+Discuss and write backround and story

+Character design!

+Plot the events/storyboard more clearly

+Divide into sections

+Claim sections and go to town!

I will be putting announcements in this red AI-esque font. Keep an eye out for them and please don't use it on this thread. : ) The italics are what we're currently doing but you're clever people and probably figured.

Pish posh, eyesight is overrated.

Anyways, charcter design is concering the literal way they look, and I think that kind of encompasses scenes that will be used more than once, like JOS house. While every section is gonna be done in that person's particular style, (and photography's gonna stray a little here), we can strive for a little uniformity so that in one section JOS' mom isn't a large black woman and in the other a little old lady. Yah know?

Well we'll have to see about the cover, someone else might like it. Do you have a deviant art or art thread you can share? And yes, if your scanner can produce quality images that's great, so long as it can be saved as a .jpg or .bmp, but we'll worry about that later.

I read it just to spite you, and it's a very awesome story indeed, glad Green Day could do that for yah. This will probably be going on for a while, at least until Chirstmas I reckon. Enough time for advide. And I don't think I'll have to assign unless things get chaoitc, It'll be sections, and I think they'll be first come first serve.

Scene by scene, for sure. Also thinking we should do some of the b-sides/outtakes to make room. Or at least the good ones.

Personally I'm not very good at scenery, so that's awesome! Maybe you could do a mixed media type thing like that, or you could collab with someone that wants to add people to your scenery. After all in real graphic novels/comics the artists draws one good backroudn and reuses it for a few panels.

Welcome on board, glad to have you with us! It'll go be the original, but there will definatly be some spicing up/originality.
