Foxboro Hot Tubs Posted March 17, 2010 Posted March 17, 2010 Nice article on Iggy Pop and his speech from a Detroit music person: http://www.metrotimes.com/blog/musicblahg.asp?perm=1049 thanks for the link does anyone have a link to Iggy's speech? I've just seen the video that was cutted down to ten minutes with just the parts where you could see Billie Joe. I wanna see the whole thing so bad in this video the woman says that the stooges also performed Search and Destroy .. does anyone have a video? pleease!!
Robin105 Posted March 17, 2010 Posted March 17, 2010 I'm looking for a video of the speech and both songs also. I can't believe nothing has surfaced yet. It doesn't have to be high quality but I would like a TV recording not from someones camera but It looks like I'll have to take the video of Billie's speech with the persons camera. Edit: I found this video of I wanna be your dog.

Hermione Posted March 17, 2010 Posted March 17, 2010 Pretty sure it was planned! I'm looking for a video of the speech and both songs also. I can't believe nothing has surfaced yet. Guest Shangri-La Posted March 17, 2010 Posted March 17, 2010 Of course it was planned. This is the same thing that happens at every Stooges show...
RobyRoom Posted March 17, 2010 Posted March 17, 2010 Thanks for the link Lol, so awkward to see Iggy singing in front of that creepy audience
Smoothed Out Posted March 17, 2010 Posted March 17, 2010 Thanks for the link That was pretty cool, I loved Billie's speech and I didn't even recognise Mike with his new blonde hair!
Rosie May Posted March 17, 2010 Posted March 17, 2010 THere was a mini artcile about this in the newspaper today. It put me in a good mood, they even splet Billie's name right and everything
Kaddi. Posted March 18, 2010 Posted March 18, 2010 Nice video. I really liked the speach and the performance was crazy I know this is a bit weird... but I love how Billie says "Christianity". And yay for him mentioning Die Toten Hosen. But Billie has the prettiest smile in the history of Rock 'n' Roll.
GDM Posted March 18, 2010 Posted March 18, 2010 Did anyone happen to transcribe that list of bands that Billie mentioned? I haven't had time to look at the video again.
Daughter.of.Rage.and.Love Posted March 18, 2010 Posted March 18, 2010 ^ List of bands Billie namchecked in his speech! (in order): The Adverts Adolescents The Ex (I'm iffyest on whether he said this, but I'm pretty damn sure) The Avengers Bad Brains Bad Religion Generation X Blondie The Boys The Briefs Blatz The Buzzcocks Circle Jerks The Clash D Generaton The Damned The Dead Boys Dead Kennedys Descendents Devo Die Toten Hosen Eater The Exploding Hearts Gang of Four The Germs The Gun Club Guns N Roses The Hives Joan Jett The Runaways New York Dolls Rancid The Libertines The Lookouts Pearl Jam Metallica Red Hot Chili Peppers Nirvana Fear Operation Ivy The Replacements The Strokes The Dwarves Hole The Ramones The Pretenders The Real Kids Siouxsie & The Banshees The Slits NoMeansNo Social Distortion Husker Du The Dictators The Cramps Stiff Little Fingers Suicidal Tendencies Black Flag Peaches Thee Headcoats The Undertones Mudhoney The Sex Pistols Gogol Bordello Sonic Youth Minutemen Bikini Kill The Weirdos 7 Seconds X Wire The Saints Queens of the Stone Age Television The White Stripes And then the censor at the end makes it hard for me to tell if he said another band, but who knows, that's at least 99% of it hahah! ENJOY! If you don't know 'em...CHECK 'EM OUT! (and the last one was something like "and my own fucking band too", I believe)
lizziebix Posted March 18, 2010 Posted March 18, 2010 I'm pretty sure there's a list somewhere above in this thread. Just not sure which page. Sorry.
GDM Posted March 18, 2010 Posted March 18, 2010 ^ (and the last one was something like "and my own fucking band too", I believe) I love you. Thanks!

Rosie May Posted March 19, 2010 Posted March 19, 2010 Oh my God that list is so long! There's over 70 bands mentioned there! (it also seems to be sort of in alphbetical order) I love how he padded out his speech with a ridiculously long list and a quote at the start.
Peace and Rainbows Posted March 19, 2010 Posted March 19, 2010 ^ (and the last one was something like "and my own fucking band too", I believe) I loved that line on the speech, damn the only vid on utube i can find censors it out Damn censorship that's not rock and roll
saraHsunshine Posted March 19, 2010 Posted March 19, 2010 Im still so creeped out by Iggys skin To be blunt Iggy is rather scary. Not that he is not still kick ass
gdpony Posted March 19, 2010 Posted March 19, 2010 To be blunt Iggy is rather scary. Not that he is not still kick ass yeah ... I love the stooges ... and his music.. but he was rather creepy that night lol... he looked ... high
saraHsunshine Posted March 19, 2010 Posted March 19, 2010 yeah ... I love the stooges ... and his music.. but he was rather creepy that night lol... he looked ... high I had a friend see him at a festival and said the only person creepier was Bob Dylan who is a total creep
Hermione Posted March 19, 2010 Posted March 19, 2010 Iggy will never be too old to take his shirt off! His performance was awesome.
LetItBeHappy Posted March 19, 2010 Posted March 19, 2010 Oh my God that list is so long! There's over 70 bands mentioned there! (it also seems to be sort of in alphbetical order) I love how he padded out his speech with a ridiculously long list and a quote at the start. I was like "awwww, he is REALLY nervous " I had a friend see him at a festival and said the only person creepier was Bob Dylan who is a total creep Dylan I still remember seen him live... Smoking = BAD D: Iggy will never be too old to take his shirt off! His performance was awesome. I once watched a 2007 Sex Pistols' concert on TV... and Johnny Rotten took his shirt off.. and I was about to rip my eyes out of me D: Iggy didn't have that effect, thank goodness
AnnA™ Posted March 19, 2010 Posted March 19, 2010 It was quite a long speech. And for the most part he just read from his papers. And still I loved it. Iggy was a bit... creepy for some reason, yeah. But anyways, they all seemed to have a good time up on stage together. Damn censorship that's not rock and roll I know.
