Metanoia Posted March 16, 2010 Posted March 16, 2010 did anything more happened except for what we see in the video ?
minorty13 Posted March 16, 2010 Posted March 16, 2010 i feel sorry for Billie when he was saying all thoes jokes. no one laughed Seriously, tough crowd
-Billiejoezee- Posted March 17, 2010 Posted March 17, 2010 Its funny how Tre went directly near the drums.
karma1215 Posted March 17, 2010 Posted March 17, 2010 I liked Billie's speech because he was just being himself... you didn't get the feeling he was just faking it. Did anyone see Rob Thomas give Billie the stink eye? I did and it wasn't nice... it was right after he ranted into a barrage of expletives ... or maybe I was just imagining it

No one better be hatin' on Billie Boy.
caltrask Posted March 17, 2010 Posted March 17, 2010 I haven't watched the available internet vidoe (Lazy, I know) but I watched the actual live performance, and there must be more than what is shown in the video because I'm surprised that no one mentioned that it looked like Billie bum-rushed the stage, uninvited--in a good way. The crowd wasn't into it, so Billie sidles up playing guitar, he is seen behind Iggy feverishly motioning for somone off-stage to come up, it takes a couple tries but finally we see Eddie Veddar and two others run up the stairs, then Tre jumps the front and the stage gets turned into a big party. Billie hands off his guitar to someone else to start playing, he grabs Iggy from behind, they are singing together, it's pretty wild. And, I think, completely unplanned, Billie was not supposed to or expected to perform with them I think he saw fit to jump in and turn a performance that was falling flat (not Iggy's fault) into one that ended with the crowd on their feet. As a viewer, I think he saved the act.
gdpony Posted March 17, 2010 Posted March 17, 2010 yeah ... that show is always kinda boring ... and without Billie unepectedly joining Iggy .. it would have been boring as always Billie was trying to make everyone have fun, and in the end he did!
GDM Posted March 17, 2010 Posted March 17, 2010 Hmmm. I read somewhere today that Iggy planned the folks coming onstage. And Billie had his own guitar when he started playing. I'm pretty sure the entire thing was planned. And Billie was motioning to Eddie Veddar, Tre and Mike toncome onstage pretty adamantly at one point. I could be wrong, but I think it was planned. I'll try and find where I read that today, if I remember when I wake up.

But Iggy looked like he was surprised to see Billie, hence the "There's a kid on my stage' line, and I think if it was planned, Billie wouldn't have had to so adamently try to get others up there, they would have gone up on their own. So.......now that I called you a big fat liar I will say that my impression was that it was spontaneous, it sure didn't move along well-staged or planned, so I would be surprised if it were--but, either way, I do think Billlie coming out completely changed the energy for the better. Just a little trick of his I guess.

GDM Posted March 17, 2010 Posted March 17, 2010 I said Billie coming onstage was planned. And I remember Iggy telling folks from the audience to get onstage. He is the one that invited people onstage after Billie got there and then while Iggy was singing and kept saying it, Billie was encouraging everyone to come onstage at the same time. And Iggy always looks surprised. Lol. I will find the thing that I read where he said it planned by Iggy.

†...HAUSHINKA...† Posted March 17, 2010 Posted March 17, 2010 I really liked that his speech was written down, it made it feel personal, home-made. It felt kind of quaint. As for the "performance" I think that was entirely spontaneous because Billie saw that the crowd wasn't into it. I mean, it's not exactly a Stooges sort of audience, they didn't know the words to sing-along, I found it a little awkward. I think Iggy was genuinely surprised when Billie came out (I know I was) and him getting other musicians to turn it into an all-out rock-out kind of saved the show. I ABSOLUTELY QUOTE EVERY WORD!!!
RobyRoom Posted March 17, 2010 Posted March 17, 2010 Still no HQ videos, as far as I'm aware. I hope that since it will be reaired someone will record it this time.

I'd record it if I was any bit tech-saavy But to anyone that has seen the entire ceremony, was either mike billie or tre shown in the audience after the stooges performance? I didn't get the chance to watch the rest and to be honest I don't really wanna
