greenday801440 Posted December 22, 2009 Posted December 22, 2009 This song is extremely powerful.I can listen to it over and overAwesome choice
novacaine_kid Posted December 22, 2009 Posted December 22, 2009 Aah I listen to this song on a daily basis, my second favourite from American Idiot and in my top 5 GD songs of all time. What a tune
Clayish Posted December 22, 2009 Posted December 22, 2009 Interesting note: In Heart Like a Hand Grenade, It shows Billie Joe listening to it for the first time completely done, and he starts to cry.He put so much emotion into AI.
Maddy. Posted December 22, 2009 Posted December 22, 2009 Exactly, I just love the raw emotion you feel when you listen to the song. Well, the whole album to be honest. The amount of work, love and emotion they put in the record is just wow. It blows me away every time. They couldn't have hoped for a better "comeback" at the time with American Idiot.

DarrenDookie Posted December 22, 2009 Posted December 22, 2009 And in the darkest night,If my memory serves me right,I'll never turn back time.Forgetting you, but not the time.I absolutely love those last 4 lines. Best end to an album possible. This is my favourite performance of it. I hope they put it back in their setlist next year, that'd be awesome
Metanoia Posted December 22, 2009 Posted December 22, 2009 aaaaaw....one of my fav green day songs for ever
J'net Posted December 22, 2009 Author Posted December 22, 2009 I absolutely love those last 4 lines. Best end to an album possible. This is my favourite performance of it. I hope they put it back in their setlist next year, that'd be awesome A6XVi8RrTkEI wish you could have seen the musical. When the entire ensemble sings "And in the darkest night" with all these incredibly beautiful harmonies - and all just projecting it with all their might - it brings me chills even just to remember it.
DarrenDookie Posted December 22, 2009 Posted December 22, 2009 I wish you could have seen the musical. When the entire ensemble sings "And in the darkest night" with all these incredibly beautiful harmonies - and all just projecting it with all their might - it brings me chills even just to remember it.Aww why'd you tell me that, now I really want to see the musical
alaniluau Posted December 22, 2009 Posted December 22, 2009 I wish you could have seen the musical. When the entire ensemble sings "And in the darkest night" with all these incredibly beautiful harmonies - and all just projecting it with all their might - it brings me chills even just to remember it.Exactly my feelings. There couldn't have been a better final song for the play, and they way it was performed was simply bone-chilling.
J'net Posted December 22, 2009 Author Posted December 22, 2009 Aww why'd you tell me that, now I really want to see the musical I feel confident that you will someday if you really want to.
DarrenDookie Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 I feel confident that you will someday if you really want to.Ill use any excuse to go to America to be honest But at the moment im broke because of the 3 Green Day gigs im goin to next year
LetItBeHappy Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 I put this on repeat every day. I never get sick of this song. <3It's really weird saying this but whenever I listen to this song I kind of drift off and don't realise the song is playing until the end. Does anyone else have this? And whenever it ends I just want to listen to it again. I can't listen to this song and then some more upbeat song right after it. It just doesn't ~flow. It's the perfect ending for an amazing album. me! like you pause it because someone is talking to you, then you put the play back and it's like "oh, I was listening to Whatsername? I'll have to put it again, so I can listen to it in the right way" xDI also discovered that you can put Homecoming right after Whatsername, and it's like a completely different ending. Like... Jesus decides to forget Whatsername, and then Homecoming: Time to wake up, time to go back.I wish you could have seen the musical. When the entire ensemble sings "And in the darkest night" with all these incredibly beautiful harmonies - and all just projecting it with all their might - it brings me chills even just to remember it.I'm still hoping that someone (EJEM, REPRISE, YOU COULD DO SOMETHING RIGHT FOR ONCE!) release the musical in a DVD or something. I don't have the millions pesos that I need to go to America, but I do have money enough like to buy a DVD xD

LetItBeHappy Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 oh my i've never seen that before... I kinda skimmed through it with the sound turned down so it didn't ruin the song for me everytime i see the quote of your sig, I laugh so much.../off topicI can't watch more than 10 secs of the video xD
Greenday_Aussie Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 One of the most moving and epic songs ever written me thinks. Up there with Everlong.Easily, EASILY, Green Day's most underated song.
E!!i Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 Best song off of AI I think Blvd of Broken Dreams is the best song of american idiot and of all time.I can't watch more than 10 secs of the video xDI almost fell asleep when I saw this video. :bored:
The Platypus! Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 I think Blvd of Broken Dreams is the best song of american idiot and of all time.BOBD is one of the best songs ever but i think its too over played so i'd go for Whatsername best on AI
E!!i Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 BOBD is one of the best songs ever but i think its too over played so i'd go for Whatsername best on AII could listen to BOBD again and again.
The Platypus! Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 I could listen to BOBD again and again.Same but Whatsername is better i think because of the way it starts out slow and then goes in to a rock style
