Little Girl Little One Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 thanks for posting here, I always forgot to check popmatters once in a while.did i tell you that i love your sig? xDAnd... I'm not a huge fan of this song, and I think this guy isn't a fan either, because he kept it as short as he could I really like how he talks about the narrator's intentions and all Hehe, I check every couple of days, I feel special when I'm the one who tells people these things. Thanks, I like the sig too lol! The quote's from this guy on Sparknotes (yeah, I'm a little bit of a nerd) who writes this series called "Blogging Twilight" and I swear, he's freakin' hilarious. I've actually laughed out loud several times at his entries. So... if you're into that kind of stuff, check it out!Yeah, this isn't my favourite Green Day song either, but it's not bad lol. I like how he wrote it too. Armstrong would love to spend time with you… uh, if you’re not too busy. My schedule is wide open, Billie Joe, you're welcome to waste MY time!

Supermodel*Robot Posted January 28, 2010 Posted January 28, 2010 oh yeah, this guys likes the song A LOT. I've been waking up to Dookie for the past two weeks & that daily repetition of the songs makes these articles even more interesting. I can't wait fore Coming Clean, that song is amazing.
darenmay Posted January 28, 2010 Posted January 28, 2010 he likes it very much!i'm loving this guy more.
**She** Posted January 28, 2010 Posted January 28, 2010 Yes, AJ loves When I come around and I love his reviews. This is another great one. I like this part:Armstrong’s lyrics rely on the fact that “when I come around” can have a literal and a metaphorical meaning. While the first verse is all about how Armstrong’s character is arriving to fulfill that person’s needs (the literal meaning), the second verse is a reversal that forces him to reevaluate his intentions (the metaphorical meaning).I wish he would do every album
LetItBeHappy Posted January 28, 2010 Posted January 28, 2010 I can't wait fore Coming Clean, that song is amazing.yes :B please, please, post it quickly!I wish he would do every album that would be eouc
Mar Posted January 28, 2010 Posted January 28, 2010 I don't love When I Come Around like he does (I like it, but it was never a favorite), but that was well-stated.And I love how as I was reading the review, it came up on my iTunes

It's a great song, but it's such a pop song, that I can't see it as my favourite. That makes no sense, but whatever.
Little Girl Little One Posted February 5, 2010 Posted February 5, 2010 yes :B please, please, post it quickly!Wish granted! Hehe, I'm on a roll with these!http://www.popmatters.com/pm/post/119511-g...e-coming-clean/This one's pretty short, but so is the song, I guess. I thought it was pretty good.
Daughter.of.Rage.and.Love Posted February 5, 2010 Posted February 5, 2010 I really like the ones for When I Come Around and Coming Clean
porksoda Posted February 9, 2010 Posted February 9, 2010 sometimes I wonder if it is the same person.I believe it is. I've just been doing a lot of reading about Green Day, and one of the biographies I read states various times that Billie wrote a ton of songs for the same girl, including 'She,' 'One for the Razorbacks' and 'Time of Your Life.'
TAR Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 http://www.popmatters.com/pm/post/120165-g...emenius-sleepusI'm not a fan of this review. By the way did anyone see that comment about a band called the Mighty Deerlick, I couldn't find anything about them but I found it interesting.
Hermione Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 http://www.popmatters.com/pm/post/120165-g...emenius-sleepusI'm not a fan of this review. By the way did anyone see that comment about a band called the Mighty Deerlick, I couldn't find anything about them but I found it interesting.Me neither. It's not that bad but he seems to only bother properly with the songs he really likes. Bah.
Little Girl Little One Posted February 12, 2010 Posted February 12, 2010 ACK! You robbed my news!! Haha, just kidding. It was a REALLY short one, and yeah, it does seem that he only bothers to go in depth with his favourites.
Supermodel*Robot Posted February 13, 2010 Posted February 13, 2010 It's kinda lame that he didn't talk about the music. He just attacked the lyrics.

(?) xDEDIT: IN THE END IS HERE!: http://www.popmatters.com/pm/post/120333-g...kie-in-the-end/ *goes to read it*(sorry Little Girl Little One)As catharsis, “In the End” does the job (in fact, it’s a great song to put on when faced with rejection and you aren’t partial to more morose musical tastes), but it doesn’t possess the depth a track like “When I Come Around” doesFAIL! And In the end is not about a girl, is about Ollie's new boyfriend ¬¬

Prisca Posted February 13, 2010 Posted February 13, 2010 I lost my interest in this guys reviews. It seems like he started getting lazy after Coming Clean. What a disappointment.
LetItBeHappy Posted February 13, 2010 Posted February 13, 2010 REALLY? the in the end thing? yes. It was on an interview that I haven't found and it was quoted on GDA's section of "song meanings". I'm mad with this guy for not understanding that song now
Hermione Posted February 13, 2010 Posted February 13, 2010 I wish he would get over his obsession with When I Come Around and Basket Case
Daughter.of.Rage.and.Love Posted February 13, 2010 Posted February 13, 2010 It's really getting kinda lame.
**She** Posted February 13, 2010 Posted February 13, 2010 ^I agree. I was really looking forward to Emenius Sleepus because I like it so much and now I am quite dissapointed. That reviews looks as if he did not put much effort in it. He did not even take a look at the instruments and stuff like he did in the other ones. As someone asked if it was the same person, referring to girls in several songs, I first thought you were talking about the author and decided that it really could be different persons writing those reviews because some are absolutety great while others are terrible.
