diylobotomy Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 Billie is amazing, so, he can do whatever the fuck he wants.
AndrewSon Posted May 29, 2009 Author Posted May 29, 2009 i like both the live and studio versions. what is cool about the live version is it brings a new sort of energy to the chours.. both are definetly fine with me..if i had to pick one id go with the falsetto.. it was just a really cool surprise to hear billie do the falsetto on the album..
Nova-Caine Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 I really don't care how he sings it as long as he's happy with it. The world will hardly end if he decides against falsetto.
forget_me_nots Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 Billie is amazing, so, he can do whatever the fuck he wants. I agree. Haha.
Anko Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 I liked it on SNL. I thought it sounded cool. :/That performance was the first time I'd heard that song! I liked it too.Depends. If you've got a good falsetto that you're comfortable using, it's probably easier. If you don't have much in the way of falsetto (and lots of people don't, particularly ones who have never had any vocal training), you'll struggle. Also, the smaller the interval between the normal voice and falsetto, the easier it is - I can do 21 Guns easily, but I should never, ever be allowed to sing Unchained Melody in the company of other people.I bet I could too, I'm sorry but I think if I can sing My Immortal and Hello ( for the most part, I have my good and bad days with that song), 21 Guns shouldn't be a problem for me.It's pretty hard to hit the falsetto, try singing the line "One,21 Guns" in the same manner as studio version.I bet you won't be able to do it perfectly. It's hard you knowRefer to the above.EDIT:Here's a 2min video of their live performance in Germany, the first time he hists hit, but the second time he dosen't try because the first time seem to strain his voice.
NickD Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 is it possible that billie wants to preserve his voice over the long-run??? the changing in his singing voice from "normal" to the falsetto and back puts a lot of strain on the vocal chords, especially when trying to do it loud and not sound like shit. the shouting REALLY improves the chorus for a live show. i like both equally though.
**kookai** Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 BJ might just be having a hard time recovering from singing that high now... it only does it at the end of the song... have u noticed that ?
tq6993 Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 i was going to make a thread asking what a Falsetto is, but it would be better asking it here. (that way i dont get yelled at by the mods) anyways, what is a falsetto? i think i have heard someone say that Axl Rose uses a falsetto on Sweet Child O' Mine. so if someone could enlighten me it would be greatly appreciated!
Princess Consuela Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 EDIT:Here's a 2min video of their live performance in Germany, the first time he hists hit, but the second time he dosen't try because the first time seem to strain his voice. It's not too bad for my ears actually See Billie, you can do it! i was going to make a thread asking what a Falsetto is, but it would be better asking it here. tq6993 Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 It's not too bad for my ears actually See Billie, you can do it! Falsetto Thanks! Now I can discuss it! I think he doesnt do it live becuase it would strain his voice. and I know NOONE on this planet wants BJ to damage his voice in anyway! I don't think BJ would be nervous, that doesnt really sound like him, I mean he prolly gets nervous but not nervous enough not to do somthing.
Peter. Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 he did it at the show at Fox Theater (if i remember correctly). I think it's just a matter of him not being 100% sure he can hit it spot on. Being able to practice and record it in the studio is a much different settings. though i really wish he would. He didn't do it on the Abbey road recording i think..
parinaz Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 I think that beacuse they used sound effects during the album and he;s not that much able to do it more often at the shows.:/but is there any vid of him singing falsetto at Fox theater?
Kaddi. Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 I think he usually hits it the last time he sings "guns" and he also did it in this one video, so he can do it.The first time, I listened to the song live, it sounded really weird and I didn't like it... but I got used to it and it's more more powerful.
Guest Hayley Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 Actually it's nice, I like it and I have to say that it's not easy to do it correctly.
Isabel Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 it cud be very hard if the falsetto note is RIGHT where the chest voice (normal voice) ends. for example when i sing this, the falsetto note "guns" is right where my normal voice turns into the falsetto one, therefore making it hard to hit that one pitch. if i say moved to a higher key than the original, the "guns" wud be clearly in the falsetto voice and wud be much easier to hit.Exactly, I'm the same when I sing it; it's literally the lowest note I would sing in a higher register...but the fact that I'm a girl, I'd say it could be easier for me? Not too sure.I think the "guns" part is only mildly "falsetto" though, I mean it's nothing compared to Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody. "Guns" sounds like it's exactly one octave higher than the first Do of the tonic solfa, so it's really not that high. I'm surprised he'd have trouble singing it, given how he has such a "good vocal range" and all
giygas...feels...good Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 am i the only one that doesnt like this song? with or without falsetto

Bohemian+Scandal Posted May 29, 2009 Posted May 29, 2009 Hey, when he sings Before the Lobotomy live I notice he does the falsetto for the beginning "Dreaming" part of the song. It always sounds a bit shaky though. Let's just agree that Billie's not much of a falsetto guy. Heh.
