Who knows, she keeps surprising me with getting crazy about GD :D Sometimes even more than me. Like for example, she hears them on a radio, turns it up very loud (which pisses my dad off btw ) and yells at me to come to hear them. And I'm like 'Cool, but I can hear this song whenever I want to'. :P

She's never been to that kind of show and I'm sure she's no idea what the hell is going on there :D I teased her the other day that when GD comes to Poland I'll buy her a seat ticket, and she said 'No way, I'd want to be close to Billie Joe!':P

I think there's a certain age when children/teenagers don't want to show with their parents, when they think it's embarassing for them or whatsoever. It usually changes later. Of course it all depends on relatioship between parents and children :P

Your son is lucky to have such rockin' mom like you :D

Thanks! Our musical connection is one of our strongest bonds and probably one reason we still have such a good, strong relationship. Also, I've always talked to my kids about anything and everything instead of trying to protect them from stuff. I think they feel that as a sign of respect. I know I would have when I was a kid.

Anyway, I think you're right about it being a certain age or a stage kids go through when they're not comfortable being seen with their parents.

My mom and my grandma are going with me and my friend to the show in Chicago xDD

They got seats though, while my friend and I got standing.

I have been to one concert with my mom. she loves green day as well so she was totally into it.

I really enjoyed going with my mom actually.

I wouldn't care who I went to a Green Day concert with. I could go with my mean Nannie, and I'd freaking enjoy it anyway.

A Star Trek fan who wears glasses and has backed out of every potential confrontation. I am in no position to loose anymore 'street-cred'.

I'm sure that even when I'm legal to drink, drive, and everything else that is legal, my mom would still come with me when I go to concerts.

It's kinda better than her not giving a shit at all though, so I guess when you look at it that way, there's a positive aspect.

Haha my mom's coming with for the show in August because she thinks that I will get trampled over or kidnapped or something.

I really don't mind, but I know she wouldn't like it at all (and she doesn't want to go anyway).

But oh well, maybe after she sees the show, she'll finally realize why I like GD so much.

Hopefully.

When I first started going to gigs my mum was like, "we're getting seats i'm not having you crushed." Its nice to know that they love you and would go to things they don't like just to let you experience things non? x

im 14, but my mom said she would just drop me off with a friend and pick me up, but then we figured out if ur under 16 u ha to hav a parent or gaurdian. but still, my moms kool. she doesnt hover. shes gonna let me wait in line by myself for 5 hours, and then shes gonna come and when we get let in, shes gonna hand me bout 50-100 dollars, and let me do as i wish. of course, instead of a friend of mine, shes bringing one of her friends so she doesnt hav to deal with it all by herself. but thats gdc is planning meet up parties. friends!!!

Hah, I think this thread is funny. I guess some people have un-fun moms that wouldn't be good to go with...I'd still go with MY mom and she's 54. I've got a 14 year old that is a little pissed off that I'm taking my niece instead of him.

I have been dubbed THE COOLEST MOM IN THE UNIVERSE by my kids though.

My mum died not long after Dookie was released, so she didn't even get chance to know who GD were. I know however that she would have loved them had she been around today considering her past music tastes.

I suppose I'm saying is to appreciate that you do have some sort of relationship with your mother & not worry about what other people think.. It doesn't matter in the long run..

My 8yo daughter was too young in for Sydney in 2005, so this time she really wants to go. Maybe she'll then have the memory of "when Mum took me to MY first GD concert " For me, that will make this concert all the more special (seeing her reaction to the experience)..

I went to the American Idiot concert with my mom. I was only like 14 at the time so I couldn't go alone... My mom is cool though, she's in a rock band herself. lol. The only part she had trouble with was the fake masturbation... that was hilarious.

I would not go with my mom just because of all the sex jokes( a little ackward) but i am alright with her taking me to any other concert

I'm going to see Green Day with my mum, i don't mind, my mum's cool.

I might be taking my mum to the Sheffield gig in October. She's 60, I know she will love it.

I think my mum is too old  , but I would not mind. On a similar note, I am taking my son and I think he is glad he is going with me - lucky boy has an old rocker for a dad. :D:D:D

My Mum got into the show in 2005 while they were doing encores cause the security guys outside were nice and let her in while they were waiting, and now for this time around she really wants to come with. I am so taking her with me =D we hang out together all the time though, and share clothes and CDs. she's a cool mum.
