I'm totally jealous you got to see a FHT show

I'm just as proud as punch of the ONE GD show I've seen. And the FHT show

But damn, I wish I could've caught all these other shows over the years, too.

How so?

I don't think so. 99% of the threads on this forum are run (and more fun) for kids under 20. When i first came to this forum, I had little 12 and 14 year olds telling me I was a n00b and to stfu, and all kinds of colorful things. All kinds of cliques are around here, like any other forum. I see nothing wrong w/ this. The young people on here weren't there for a lot of these things. We were. I don't think I'm better. I'm just older.

:)

You lucky duck. I would have given my left nut to go to a FBHT show... they never came this way though. Oh, and I miss how they used to talk a lot (and not repeat the same things over). Mike saying "Merry fucking Christmas you muther fuckers hahahahahahaha (evil laugh)" makes me laugh thinking about it to this day.

I met Tre, too. I'm sure some people are sick of me saying that, so I will put it in black so those meanies won't see it without effort.

Me too...if I had nuts

I miss how they used to talk a lot of shit lol ~ No interviewer could get a straight answer out of any of them, especially Tre. That's one good way to deal with scrutiny, though lol

I'm 100 times more jealous now,

even though I'm sure I heard you mention it before lol

He's the only one I haven't yet met

(someday, someday...)

^ I think that's neat Starbug. Not a lot of people can say that. I would like to one day, but not in some stalkerish fashion or anything. I did write a letter to them in 2004 though (a couple of days after AI came out) because I wanted to use a couple of lyrics from WMUWSE on a blanket that I was making for my friend because her daughter died.

That reminds me, do you remember the interview where Tre said something along the lines of "I GOT LAID! I GOT LAID! By my hand". I had tears flowing from that one. lol.

Hell yeah. Well, I'm proud of it. I'm not meaning to brag or be all "nyah nyah nyah" or anything. I'm just happy about it  It was amazing. HE was amazing.

Wow, that's so nice :) Did you end up making it?

I've been trying to come up w/ some way to incorporate Green Day into something to crochet lol seriously, but I can't think of a way.

Nimrod : I don't remember that interview, unfortunately :/

I was just thinking today, though, about the Modern Rock Live interview ("Shave your mustache, Tre!!!")

Starbug : Crochet Green Day?!? This sounds like a challenge! I do a bit of crochet, myself... (very little bit, though...)

That's still pretty neat though. My jacket story is the closest I've ever gotten to them (well Billie's gotten to me  ). I never got anything back, but I made it anyway. I just put something on there stating it was green day's and not mine. lol. It made everyone cry who saw it. Ironically, her daughter died 2 days after AI came out.

^ That's so sad, but such a sweet thing to make!!!

Wake Me Up is a very powerful song

It IS a challenge lol I would literally have to lay out a pattern to try and put a daisy, or even the words "GREEN DAY" into a scarf. I just don't have the mind for it. But it would be awesome if I could.

Awww  that's sad, and sweet.... And honestly, that jacket story is freakin' sweet!

yeah, 2004 was a really shitty year for me. My horse died in april (still haunts me to this day), then my friend's daughter died, then one of my dogs died in November, and then my other dog died 3 days before Christmas. That was the year I should have slept through. About the only good thing that happened was going to the AI show. I still have the jacket hanging up in the closet and have never worn it or washed it since. lol.

Daisy scarf = Genius!!

I wish I had the skillz for that lol

Nimrod ~ Wow. I'm sorry about all that. (*hugs*)

The #1 reason I'm such a huge GD fan is because of all they've helped me get through over the years  ~ I almost don't think I could've grown up sane without 'em lol

Starbug ~ Well, if I ever find myself with those skillz, I'll make an extra one for you!!

Yeah, I feel ya. My dad died in 2005, and I also saw GD for the first time that year. it was a bad, bad year. I also had my heart broken... yada yada yada lol Because of all of that, I can't hardly listen to WMUWSE anymore :/ it's too sad.

thanks (*hugs back*). The thiing with my horse was horrible and haunts me to this day. Listening to Green Day (and Float On by Modest Mouse) helped me get through it. I completely shut down. I don't even want to contemplate what my attempt at making a scarf would be like (let alone a GD themed one).

I hear that ~ It's amazing how BJ can say so much with so few words

I remember being quite taken aback the first time I'd heard it, which was right around the 5 year anniversary of my mum passing away

It hits waay too close to home...

Yeah, he definitely knows his ways with words. Seems like all of us oldies need have a hugfest now. On a lighter note, I hope Billie decides to cut the fake masturbation act... it's gotten kind of old :/

Yes. And sometimes, Good Riddance gets to me.

Billie Joe is a lyrical god. He's so good at it. And his voice carries so much emotion in it. Whether it be angry, or touching.

I really think I would've shut down if not for GD

which is why I went retarded when I met Billie Joe

I'm thinking screen print scarf of the daisy on a soft white fabric ~ Much easier than crochet

There's another one I can't listen to. It makes me think of all the times I had with Laddie (the horse that died on me), and puts me in a really emotional state even though I know the song is more of a "fuck you" kind of thing.

and LMAO!!!

I think that's why he still does it ~ He still needs to have that obnoxious-ness to him once in a while

I totally agree ~ His dad would be proud

That's neat that you met him. My idea of the scarf would probably be cut out fabric and sew it on. I'm so lame

yeah, it's like a green day support group. lol. Go back to the spitting then... keep thyn hand away from thyn package. It just seems kind of wrong to have an older guy getting funky with himself infront of a bunch of young teenagers. tsk tsk Billie, it's wrong, just wrong.

Yea it's weird, cuz Good Riddance doesn't make me emotional at all, cuz I think of it more as a fuck you track than a happy memories track, but I know everyone feels differently.

Yeah, but really, ALL songs are whatever the listener makes them, ya know? And most people take that song in an emotional direction, other than \\\'fuck you\\\' lol

lol *hugfest*

I think he feeds off the teenie screams. Literally. it feeds his soul.

 He smelled like heaven and was shorter than me

But he was still beautiful. He has very, very nice eyes.

And hey, whatever works, ya know? I\\\'m getting desperate. I\\\'m trying to figure out a way to lay out a crochet pattern. Rough lol

EDIT-I misread, and though you had replied to me
