Starbug Posted February 24, 2009 Posted February 24, 2009 I said it before and I'll say it again Green Day will become Springsteen big they be like a Superbowl halftime, I'm-gonna-release-my-album-the-same-day-coincidence-I-think-not kind of bandWhich is a long way from the 2 kids that played at their mom's workplaceI wholeheartedly concur They're well on their way. Greenday_Aussie Posted February 24, 2009 Posted February 24, 2009 Yeah we're the ones who haven't "grown out of them" or were disgusted by American Idiot (my drummer being one of them).Pfft, tell your drummer hes a noob It was masterpiece, in the past 2 weeks Ive listened to all there albums (except Shennies) and AI still speaks to me the most.
2Klightyears Posted February 24, 2009 Posted February 24, 2009 HELL YEAH!! I love listenin to Live shows, it brings back mad memories. Anyone remember the show where the kid with the mohawk was fuckin with Billie and he drop kicked the fuckin kid from the stage?? I want that Green Day back!!!I looove listening and watching old live shows. There's always something different. While I love the theatrics and energy of the newer concerts, I mean it was all very scripted and kept to a set (just watch any concert from their 2005-2006 tours in any city, it's pretty much always the same). But I suppose it's just them growing into a bigger act, o well. I did see that one where he jumped at the kid off stage. That was sweet.

Starbug Posted February 24, 2009 Posted February 24, 2009 But the Warfield show was so rad, BAstards of Young, guysDamn it. Having dial up has limited how much Green Day video and bootleg access I have :/ Which sucks, hard. but I still have a freakin' sweet collection, i think. I get everything I can get my hands on how many of you have bootlegs? I remember I got God Bless Amerika (The 2 disc bootleg) cuz I hadda good report card. lolI have the Woodstock show, and an acoustic show they did. And a few of the international live releases, which I'm proud of. Going to Pasalacqua from Foot in Mouth is probably one of their best live performance, hands down. I really pushed for it to be added to the Absolute Playlist thingie a couple of months ago

Saints are coming was huuuuuuuuuge, "The Boss" was proudThe Saints Are Coming is a monumental song in my book. New Orleans is one of my favorite cities and it was a shame what happened. I was so happy when Green Day got involved in the clean up and such, it shows how human they really are, their not worried about getting their hands dirty.

SynthwaveTrooper Posted February 24, 2009 Author Posted February 24, 2009 Oh man i remember on SNL in 95 that Billie, Tre' & Mike all had Bleached hair, for some reason it shocked me cause i was so used to the blue hair
B-CIDE Posted February 24, 2009 Posted February 24, 2009 Then I have a bunch of themI really like the Warning era crazy showsA bunch of requests and bad jokesI'm a fan of the Insomniac era shows cuz that was about the first time I seen em live.only $15 too, how crazy.
SynthwaveTrooper Posted February 24, 2009 Author Posted February 24, 2009 the Insomniac era of show were the most brutalera of shows, loved the show they put on then
JAS0N Posted February 24, 2009 Posted February 24, 2009 My first memories of Green Day are hating them so much because they were popular and just everywhere. I finally caved after hearing 'When I Come Around' on the radio for 800,000th time and bought the Dookie tape. Never before and never since have I listened to an album so much - I just played it over and over and over. I also remember seeing them perform a concert for the first time with Jaded In Chicago and watching them play 'Christie Road' (YouTube link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KRrLc5qPA1c) over and over which led me to their old stuff of coarse and they've been my favorite band ever since.
B-CIDE Posted February 24, 2009 Posted February 24, 2009 the Insomniac era of show were the most brutalera of shows, loved the show they put on thenHell yea, it's a toss up between Insomniac and Nimrod, cuz the Nimrod shows they did mad requests and shit.
Starbug Posted February 24, 2009 Posted February 24, 2009 I didn't get to see them until AI :/Due to money, where I live, and stupid ass family not taking me when they said they would. Oh, and I was petrified of crowds. But I saw them 10/16/05 and it was the best. Night. Ever. Then I saw them in Austin as FHT last May.Have any of you ever met them?
