Depends on the area I guess. I can't find any new sold in stores around here. But if I pick up a copy at a yard sale or a used CD store I can find it.

I have like 3 copies of Dookie with Ernie on the back and the brown cd tray.

I bought mine over Amazon.

Do you guys remember when Green Day were on MTV on NYE, and Billie fucked up Time of Your Life, and he stopped and said "Man, I am so fucked up right now." I remember I was sitting in my (then) friend's living room and I was like HOLY SHIT then my cell rang and it was my friend Keith (he was in a hotel room, he had just left for the Marines) and he was like "Holy fuck Courtney! Did you see what Billie just did!" Haha. That was great.

Haha, I don't remember that but then again, I didn't get MTV growing up so I'm sure I missed out on some good ones.

I've been a GD fan for 12 or 13 years now! Can't believe how long it's been. I remember in grade 6 or 7, my friend and I 'borrowed' her older brother's copy of Dookie and I popped that sucker in and I fell instantly in love with them! It was like this connection through music I had never felt before and have never felt the same for any other band since. It's hard to explain I guess. But anyway I went out to HMV and had my mom buy me Dookie and Nimrod and after hearing Nimrod, I was like, what else they got?! The rest is history. Sweet, sweet history. :D

So good to see some veterans out here!!

Haha, yeah, I have it on tape. Then on his way walking off the stage he almost took that guy out in the wheelchair (I think he was going to give him a hug but royally fucked it up or something. haha). Do you remember Live From the 10 Spot (I t hink it was the Bottom of the Hill show) where Billie forgot the lyrics to Brain Stew. That was another gutbuster for me.

Hello, vets! How I've missed thee!! <3

Angie & Sharon ~ Rock on!!! :D

I wrote a pretty lengthy album review on my blog ~ I'm refraining from just posting it here, for those of us with ADD / who just don't care lol

And I'm still planning on doing an iron-on version of that Kerplunk flower scarf! So long as I get it done before the Hamilton show, it's all good.

It's good to see this thread popping up every now & then!!

;D

Hey! Good to see you around again. I've been MIA for the last few days myself, but I'm back around for now lol And I agree, if I see this thread on the main first page with new posts, it's always the first one I click on

I feel like a true veteran - 50 years young today, thanks to this band. I woke up to Holiday, then the next DJ played Know Your Enemy. What a great start to the day.

I was at least twice the age of most of the audience in Paris last week, and when I met the guys in the street in London on 5th May they must have wondered if they were hallucinating - ALL AGES works both ways.

 You rock on, Sharon. I think it's awesome. I'm honestly SO GLAD you got to meet our boys, I could pop. I think it's awesome when they're so nice to fans, which they almost always are, and it's even more awesome when people I know (at least via internet lol) meet them. I love them so much, and hearing stories like yours makes me proud. You should write your account in here, all us vets can drool over it

I didn't see it, but I have an mp3 of it. First time I heard it, I took turns laughing and cringing lol

LOL that video is made of win.

I can't smile wide enough still. These guys are making me so proud at the moment - all of the encounters at the NYC shows are the same, saying how friendly and approachable they are. There is not an atom of 'don't you know who I am?' about them and that is so refreshing.

Any vets see Letterman?

I remember the first time I saw Green Day on tv, they played 86 on Letterman

That's all I could think about watching tonight's performance

Proud indeed, sharon

Oh yes, I saw Letterman  Tre makes my life.

Did anyone see GMA? Overall it was a bit of a disappointment, performance wise because I expected more songs. They did great on the songs they did, and I cheered when the words 'fuck' and 'shit' slipped juuuust past the censors  But I wanted more... but Tre and the tee pee MORE than made up for all of that lol He even had my mom laughing

He sure is

I will be the first of many to answer your question, I'm sure lol

March of the Dogs was the original (and in my opinion, superior, because the song feels like a march) title for EJN... They rocked that song SOOO hard on Letterman last night  Awesome job.

Veterans???

I find this thing bloody funny I am 37 and I AM NOT OLD ( just having a midlife crisis today)

and yes I am a verteran ...got into them when I was around like 20 years old in the early 90s!

I call it eternally young!

I am 18 forever and I will always be a young punk...no matter what

and man o man ...lots of good memories in University listening to Green Day and bouncing around excited!

Age is just a number. It's just that some numbers are bigger than others.

You are a mere BABY compared to me!!!

first show was in like '92, but i really don;t remember it too well. first show i do remember was in '93 at the fairfax high school gym(i think) in the l.a. area. good times! then in '94 they did a cd release show at triangle square in costa mesa. the outdoor foodcourt was packed, they showed up and played a whole 4 songs then walked off, it was great, still have the flyer from that. we were waiting for our ride down in the garage area and saw the bookmobile and the guys hanging out. so i went over and said hi and they let me inside to check it out. since then it's been numerous shows...even ran into them a few times here in newport during the recording of "21st...", i am pretty much right in between the 2 studios they used in newport and costa mesa so it became very common to look over and see some recognizable faces.

Ah! I thought you meant Fairfax, Virginia. I was born there and lived there for a while. Just got excited, then mad that GD played at my hometown highschool before I was born.

I'm not a veteran, since I've only been a fan for 6 years. If I had been born earlier and had been around during the Dookie era or so, I'm sure I'd be classified as one, though.

I have like 3 copies of Dookie with Ernie on the back and the brown cd tray.

The brown CD tray is rare? If so - awesome! The Dookie album I have has the brown tray, but no Ernie.
