Starbug Posted March 8, 2009 Posted March 8, 2009 They have been responsible for so many memories, it's crazy. I remember the night my whole group of friends basically got hooked on Green Day. We were out in my friends yard, playing badminton and I had made a mixed cd, which we were listening to. 'Misery' came on, and by the end of it, two of my friends were dancing to it and singing along, even though they'd never heard it before. Michael (the one of "HEY HEY HEY!" Minority fame)turned and asked me, "Who is this? I love this damn song!" I told him it was Green Day. "Really? It doesn't sound like Green Day," So the next time a party rolled around, I had a whole cd of my favorite GD songs to play, and then I had to make Michael one, then someone else asked for one, and so on and so forth, and the rest is Green Day history
sharon mitchell Posted March 8, 2009 Posted March 8, 2009 They have affected the whole family in my case - we have an annual (actually, last year we had two) Green Day barbecue here every year with International Idiots in attendance. I know of about four couples that have got together through this band. They really do change lives.
Greenday_Aussie Posted March 8, 2009 Posted March 8, 2009 Wow, some crazy stories, especially Sharons!Shows what a power band Green Day are (yeah, what have you done lately Coldplay )Oops, did I just break my own rule of comparing them!
SynthwaveTrooper Posted March 8, 2009 Author Posted March 8, 2009 amazing stories! I wish i had time to type my stories out, but eh. maybe one day.how are all you vets on this Sunday?

They really do change lives.Yeah, I've tried every year since my concert to have a 'Green Day Day' on October 16th lol Haven't always succeeded, but I've tried! i did succeed for 2 years. One year I watched BIAB and the other I got drunkie w/ my friends and listened to GD.MAN I wish I could find a dude who loved Green Day like I do. as it is, it's something against me Not every guy I run across understands it, or is willing to accept it. Almost like if I was some sort of addict, or I had nine children, like something quite big for a relationship to get past. It's just Green Day
Nimrod99 Posted March 9, 2009 Posted March 9, 2009 amazing stories! I wish i had time to type my stories out, but eh. maybe one day.how are all you vets on this Sunday?Eh, could be a little better. I'm going through the tough time of having to separate mom and baby (horses). Gah, it sucks. I have been listening to Insomniac every time I go to the barn (takes me 15 minutes to get there).... had to add that in so I wouldn't feel like I was spaming.

That's so nice of you to post a picture of your mother, who is so proud of you she could puke. And did. I've always heard that expression, but never thought it was possible...I, alas, never had MTV during their formative years. I didn't get MTV until round about between Nimrod and Warning. Oh well :/

Nimrod99 Posted March 14, 2009 Posted March 14, 2009 Hey there vets, long time no talk it feels like. Question of the Day: Does anyone remember that amazing MTV special concert on TV of Green Day and the Small Venue Concert they also aired?lol, which one? MTV aired a couple of special concerts... I know they aired Live W/O Warning (got it on tape) and then the one from Live At the 10 Spot (Bottom of the Hill). I'm pretty sure they aired a concert during the Dookie Days (I can't remember the name of it for the life of me, but it was the one where BJ was on some sort of drug or another).
Hellcat Posted March 14, 2009 Posted March 14, 2009 im 21 and have been a fan since 97 so im like one year off but that doesnt matter.was 97 and my mum bought nimrod for good riddance, she didnt think to just buy the single.anyway we normally listened to good riddance and prosthetic head because they where the last tracks.at the time i had a habbit of listening to my parents cds so i put on nimrod and was hooked because of the swearing haha.everytime i recount this story it changes haha. but cut along story short was nimrod in 97 when my mum bought it.and brain stew being on the godzilla soundtrack.

And you're close enough to be considered a vet . Haha, I think that may have been the only reason I attempted to watch Godzilla in the first place.
Juan Posted March 15, 2009 Posted March 15, 2009 There's a very good Foo Fighters song on that movie: A320

Starbug Posted March 16, 2009 Posted March 16, 2009 I still have never seen Godzilla. I felt screwed out of 14 bucks for that soundtrack
sutureself Posted March 16, 2009 Posted March 16, 2009 that brain stew remix was awful! just adding godzilla screams is NOT a remix
Starbug Posted March 16, 2009 Posted March 16, 2009 that brain stew remix was awful! just adding godzilla screams is NOT a remix I know, right? lol I mean, there was some orchestrations added, but it was hardly anything spectacular. I'm glad I have it now because it's sorta special, because it's Green Day, but it's pretty sad :/ lol
