Oh i know what you mean! I usually figured out waht the songs were about by the drawing inside the dookie cd booklet.

Did you ever pick up the copy of "Dookie" that Ernie was on the back, Oh man i wish i still had that CD case of that.

Yeah, actually! It's still in print here in good ole South Africa! I'm really happy about that, that I got that..it's a little thrill, to know that it's been since removed, and besides, it's hilarious that its there in the first place. Imagine the Muppets going to a Green Day concert? Just imagine...their eye balls rolling around in their sockets and their bodies shaking - like they're getting electric shocks - and then their heads exploding!! Ahhhh :eyebrows:

I need a copy of Dookie WITHOUT Ernie on the back - he's always on the British version of the cd

I'm glad to see it so active too ~ I was worried I'd come in too late, around page 4 LOL

Best thread ever!!!

:D

Hope work went well ~ I have some more cleanin'/movin' to do today, which I'm dreading ~ I only got, like, 6 hours of sleep (when I need, like, 15 hours to function LOL) because I had to work some of 3rd shift last nite

I used to draw a few things out of the Dookie booklet, too ~ That's about the extent of my drawing skillz right there lol

I found a copy of Dookie at a yard sale a few years back, in pristine condition, & with Ernie on the back ~ It's the only duplicate CD I own lol

I realllyyy wanna see that!

Your stories are always beautiful :)

Thank you :) i should've really asked them if i could get the rest of it. Maybe the unedited stuff is still out there, along with some of the songs they criminally cut (Jaded!)

You know I only do it because I love you!!!! Please let me be your fan, Tone. I promise I won't wish you happy birthday 24 hours too soon this year ...... :whistling:

This band has a lot to answer for, doesn't it, Tony? And it's all good.

And yes, the picture is crap quality but it was a smuggled in disposable camera when all recording devices were banned. It's still the best pic I ever took.

Oh ok then!! :P

They do, they do. And we'll just keep lapping it up!

And i think i said it before, the polaroidness of your photo adds a certain something to it. Wicked pic!

that looks like the top of the pops mini-gig, was it?

Yep, that was the TOTP mini-gig. A real bonus that one, especially as they played some rare AI live tunes like 'Letterbomb' and 'Give me Novocaine.' And closed with 'I Fought The Law.'

And yeah, people brought their own equipment for the fans section part in BIAB. Which was a bit of a bitch, cos there was nowhere to keep it afterwards that i was aware of. Luckily my mate's ticket stub didn't get ripped off, so he was able to go put my bro's guitar in his car and come back in!

cool :) another random question, i saw/read somewhere that they played minority and are we the waiting at TOTP, but i don't think they made the final version. is that true, or am i imagining it?

Yeah thats totally true. We heard Minority about 3 or 4 times that day, because we were standing outside the BBC gate queuing up while they were doing their sound check. The gates were no more than 100 yards away from the temporary stage and i even got Billie Joe to do a little 'eh oh' back to me!

Sharon can correct me if i'm wrong, but i think they played Minority first to 'warm up' before they did JOS for the TOTP show. BBC aired a TOTP special at a later date with some of the rest of the set, but yeah they did the whole 'We are the waiting/st. jimmy' combo as well.

I just had to share this with everyone. I had the opportunity to babysit my 1 month old niece yesterday. And being the totally awesome Aunt that I am, I of course took the opportunity to expose her to Green Day. I put BoBD on my I-pod, and set the earphone close to her so it wouldn't be too loud (my I-pod has one volume on it, and it is LOUD). She had been fussing and squirming all day, but as soon as Green Day came on she settled down and fell asleep... I believe I even see a bit of a smile there.. So Ladies and Gentlemen.. I give you the Newest Future Green Day Veteran... Jessa!!!

This is the first time I've seen this thread on the 2nd page. I have decided to bump it back up with this bit of wonderful news:

I HAVE HIGH SPEED!!!!!!!!!!!

:woot:

So now I can watch all these awesome videos that everyone keeps posting... It's expensive, and I'm not sure I'm gonna keep it, but I've got 30 days to make up my mind about it.

I am tickled, though

Good work! That is just brilliant, and she's so sweet. My little 18 month old nephew enjoys a bit of Green Day too, he bops his head around to it and dances. Maybe I should try this lullaby idea next time.

Nalani ~ Aww! Adorable pic, & that's super awesome that you're corrupting her so young lmao ~ Nah, that's soo cool that GD lulled her to sleep hehe

I'm moving closer to my bff & goddaughter soon, so I'll be corrupting my lil bee (coincidentally, her initials are BJ - corruption was just meant to be lol) ~ She's almost 2 years old, & she said my name for the first time the other day!!

Angie ~ Yay for high speed!! :woot: I hope you're having fun!!

Alas, my high speed is gone :/ I am depressed about it, but there's really nothing I can do. I had it for one glorious night. A-it's not enough memory, it's limited. I thought it would be, but last night I didn't really do all that much and racked up a lot against my alloted memory, and at that rate I'd use it up within two weeks. B-I'm not paying 60+ bucks a month for internet that limits me so much. I am bummed.

Hope all you vets are having a fantastic day.

And  at the message from Andres at the top.

Sorry this was waaay off topic.

*go Green Day!*
