Starbug Posted March 2, 2009 Posted March 2, 2009 Oh I'm sure they'll believe him! When AI came out my nephew was 5 or 6 years old. I love taking him places, playing with him and since I almost always had AI on back then, I got him hooked. He has now added International Superhits to his collection, in addition to AI. And he also has the studs punk belt, the Converse shoes, and a couple of Green Day shirts, just like his proud aunt! If that's the price, that's not bad at all. Gotta look for it next time I go...I, too, have been responsible for hooking my nephews onto Green Day. I bought my younger one (who was 13 at the time) a shirt, and gave it to him a day early. I knew if I waited until Christmas Eve, it'd get lost in all the shuffle and I wanted to make sure I saw his face to tell whether he was surprised/pleased/disgusted or what. He's a pretty emotionally quiet kid, doesn't cry, doesn't hug ya, ya know, pretty closed off. But when he opened that present, his eyes got huge, and he looked at me w/ utter shock on his face. He dropped the shirt and the box on the couch and just grabbed me in this huge bear hug. I was shocked lol "Thank you, Angie, thank you!" he said, then he immediately put the shirt on and I've never seen him wear any shirt so much. In fact, him and his brother fight over it and hide it from each other Wes (the one the shirt actually belongs to) hid it under the sink so Luke (the older one) couldn't find it, this was just before this past Christmas. So I bought Luke one, too. A different one, but now they both have one. They still fight over the first one, though
J'net Posted March 2, 2009 Posted March 2, 2009 ohmyfuckinggod That is awesome!! It was awesome! I'll never forget the look on his face - it was so ... concentrated. He was so in character ... he was the Rev and, by God, he was gonna heal me!BEAUTIFUL! I've read this in another thread, I think, but didn't remember it being you. That's a great, great unique story Yes, it was me. I wrote about it when I posted my recap of that show in the FBHT Phoenix thread. It was so fun and so funny - and it was only one of many great experiences I had at those two shows.

Starbug Posted March 2, 2009 Posted March 2, 2009 hey everyone, hows it going? good weekends?are we sharing stories about meeting the guys? i don't really feel like reading a bunch of pages since i've been here last. i'm lazy hahahaam i asking too many questions? yes you are! No lol you're not haha Yeah, we've been sharing about meeting the guys just for the last couple of pages or so, really, if ya wanna look back. My Tre run-in is one page back, I thiiiiink. And one of the dudes from BIAB posted about meeting them at the FHT show, as well as his experience being in BIAB. Pretty cool stuff I enjoy reading these encounters so I can be fascinated and jealous, all at the same time And Welcome back My weekend has been okay, today's been crap. It snowed, but I've been sick, so I didn't really enjoy it.
sutureself Posted March 2, 2009 Posted March 2, 2009 that's awesome. i'll have to go back and find/read the stories i've had a few quick meet/autograph sessions with the guys but the best was last febuary i went to a couple of pinhead gunpowder shows and got to actually speak with billie and gushed about how much the music means to me and probably some other mushy stuff (haha) but he was soo sweet and squeezed my arm while we were talking. it was amazing. oh and mike was at the san fran pinhead show(!!!!) and i said hi and we shook hands and he told me i had a great handshake? haha. also i saw mike kennerty (i could be spelling his last name wrong?) from the all american rejects at one of the shows and i talked to him about his cometbus tattoo and then we geeked out about him together. it was so cute and funny. he literally said "i've never seen him in real life before!" oh, and i've met jason white (super breifly, just an autograph ) and jason freese, too. freese seemed surprised that someone wanted to talk and take a picture with HIM, it was funny. he was a super nice dude and we chatted for at least 10 minutes.

I really can't imagine. I'd like to think I'd be cool about it, but if I'm being honest w/ myself, no, I will probably end up crying lol His music means so very much to me.I met Jason White, too. Me and Amanda were waiting in line to get into the bar to watch FHT and I heard someone say, "There's Jason White!" I turned my head to face forward, and sure enough, I was literally chest to chest w/ him I said, "Oh! Hey!" he said, "Hey, how are you doing?" "I'm doing good. How are you?" "I'm great, thank you," and off he went. It was so bizarre lol POOF he was magically in front of me, like, reeeeally close

I totally have a newfound respect for the all american rejects now and i don't even listen to them! What did he have??cool story by the way:)i know! mike and the drummer (chris?) are from punk rock background (at least music-wise) so i feel like it gives them a little bit more credibility (haha). umm, i think it's just a cover of one of the cometbus zines? it's at least about the size of something like that, and it's on the side of one of his calfs, it was dark in the club, so i couldn't see it perfectly or anything. i heard he had one so i took the chance to ask to see it when i saw him there. i'm a creep.

Sweet Baby played last year with Aaron on drums and my friend flew to Baltimore for the show and got to hang out with him! i should have gone..

Yeah, I've sorta noticed when it comes to getting opportunities to speak to these guys, you gotta seize it lol That's why they guy butted in in front of you, I guess. Maybe you took just one second too long like those girls who were just standing around Tre, bless his heart Though they just kept standing there, not doing anything. Just looking petrified lol How weird must that be for him, for all of them, to have girls just either throwing themselves at them or going retarded when they're in their presence lol Though I'm sure they're pretty used to it by now lolyou are veryyyyyy lucky! Nimrod99 Posted March 2, 2009 Posted March 2, 2009 So many neat stories. Lucky people you are. Oh, here's some interesting Green Day related news (kind of). Did anyone watch King of the Hill tonight? Well if not, they mentioned (and even showed the character) that Tre played in the paintball episode. AND... they mentioned one of the songs, titled "Screeching Weasel". Just thought I'd let ya know.
Greenday_Aussie Posted March 2, 2009 Posted March 2, 2009 No no, I wasn't implying you were gay lol Just that you seemed to get excited for him to tell the stories, that's all Seemed like you were an admirer. Thought it was nice Oh! Well...this is...arwkard :whistling:
