goodday Posted March 1, 2009 Posted March 1, 2009 I need to get me a sticker maker!! Its pretty easy to do: get what pic or logo or whatever you want and work on it if necessary on photoshop or other program...then when its like you want it, just print it with a sticker paper  after that, I use a spray that fix the ink then I cut them all and put on my helmet, agenda, wallet or anywhere! I do that with green day stuff and lots of things as cool buttons and stuff like that I find on web heheI even use to make them and send to my friends hehe...I sent some to my closest GDC friends
Starbug Posted March 1, 2009 Posted March 1, 2009 Am I considered a Green Day veteran? I am 13. Alas, no BUT you are one awesome fan Unless you've liked them since you were in the womb lol

(I just sounded like a kid from an infomercial lol) aww. So are you. You're a awesome fan. And I liked then since 03. You're on your way I was just thinking of another memory. Not one directly involving anyone from the band, but a good one nonetheless...We were all drunk, haha, and listening to music. We were over at my friends house, and three of us got into a Green Day discussion. The Fucktard (which I will call him, because he is one) says, "Aw, Dookie was their absolute best, it all went downhill from there... it all sounds the same..." bitch bitch moan moan. Me and Amanda were all like, "Nooooes, you don't get it! It's not all the same, they're awesome!" being the biased fans we are. So then I went over to the stereo, and put in International Superhits, and asked Amanda which song should I play? "Longview," "Good choice!" So I put on Longview, and all three of us, even the Fucktard, started banging our heads and singing along, and near the end of it, Fucktard says, "No, I take it back, they are a fucking AWESOME band, they're just awesome!" and we all laughed and kept geeking out. It was a classic friendship sort of moment involving Green Day, I got lots of 'em they make me happy.

Starbug Posted March 2, 2009 Posted March 2, 2009 You know I only do it because I love you!!!! Please let me be your fan, Tone. I promise I won't wish you happy birthday 24 hours too soon this year ...... :whistling: November 6th was the greatest day of my life (and at nearly 50, I've had a lot of days). - I ended up on the barrier at an invited audience only Green Day gig that I wasn't invited to. I stood in front of BJ and had a mouthed conversation with him, ending up by making him laugh (okay, he laughed AT me, not WITH me, but wtf? - I made him smile that glorious screwed-up nose, cheesy grin and that is a sight I shall take to the grave.). I also got a load of grins from Jason and a double thumbs-up and wink from the lovely Mr Dirnt (who was looking incredible that night, may I add). But as well as the private gig of just over an hour, I made friends for life in the queue. I see about 20 of them regularly (some not as often as I would like) and one in particular has become the sister I never had.Spring-boarding from that day, I have met around 50 fans from various forums (Laura, Hicks, Pirate Palmer ...... just some of the reprobates that have been to gigs with me, or even stayed at my house after boozy GD-centred barbecues), and I plan to meet many others this coming year (Beth and Cheryl!!!!!!!!!! WHOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!), both at concerts and in various locations around the UK.This band has a lot to answer for, doesn't it, Tony? And it's all good.  And yes, the picture is crap quality but it was a smuggled in disposable camera when all recording devices were banned. It's still the best pic I ever took.http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e127/sha...ll/38848BA1.jpgSharon, that picture is beeeyoooteeeful And you made Billie smile, that's something I'd take to my grave, happily, too I love seeing that smile, I know exactly which smile you're talking about, and to see it in person AND be responsible for it?
Starbug Posted March 2, 2009 Posted March 2, 2009 I'm shocked! Those videos are from the Warning Extended Version I know, I'm ashamed :/BUT after this week, hopefully, I should have high speed internet, and there won't be a GD video on the internet that I won't have watched for long My family will lose me for at least a week... lol

When I first got high speed, I watched tons of youtube GD stuff..And going back to that sticker maker, I really need to make a little trip to Walmart. I would love something like that. I like plastering my notebooks with stickers (yes, I'm a teenie at heart..) Any idea how much it costs, more or less?

I'm going to turn into a pasty computer nerd, at least for a little while lolI have no idea how much it might cost, I was always a big fan of stickers. When I was a young teen, I loved Lisa Frank lol Scratch and sniff stickers were popular, too, when I was REALLY young.I have about 6 GD stickers. One of their name in the Dookie font. Another one w/ GD written across, if I remember correctly, a turd w/ flies around it One of the Dookie album cover, 2 clear outlines for my car, and... okay, that's 5 lol But still, I've always loved stickers.
Juan Posted March 2, 2009 Posted March 2, 2009 Hell, there's so much shit on the internet I go crazy everyday

Never really liked Lisa Frank; I was more of a Hello Kitty girl, lol. GD stickers I have an AI sticker pack of about 5, I think that I ordered off of CinderBlock a while back, and on my car I have the Green Day with the Kerplunk flower. My friend got me that for my birthday a couple years ago. Loved it! What I do have from back in the day is a Dookie patch, and a whole lot of buttons.

Even though I've been a fan for 16/17/18 years or so, the only time I've ever gotten up close and personal with any of the boys was during the Foxboro Hot Tubs tour. I had so many great experiences then, though, that it adds up to a lifetime's worth. I guess my favorite was at the Phoenix show. Before the show started, Beth was writing on all our palms with a sharpie. She asked me what I wanted, and I couldn't decide. I watched what she was writing on everyone else's hands, and when she wrote I the Rev on someone's, I suddenly knew. So I had her write HEAL ME (one word on each palm). During their first song (Stop, Drop, & Roll), Billie was standing right in front of us (within touching distance, since they insisted that the barricades be removed). He was looking down into the crowd and I saw his eyes pass over my hands (which were stretched up in the air) and then come back - he got a little puzzled look on his face - kind of like, "I think I can read that ... what does it say?" Then he reached down locked his fingers with mine and sent electricity through his arm to me. I mean our arms were shaking. He had the most intense look on his face - like a Rev healing the faithful. It was our own little private joke, and it was so great!
goodday Posted March 2, 2009 Posted March 2, 2009 Sounds fun and easy! (I just sounded like a kid from an infomercial lol)But yeah, it is fun eand easy Awesome!! That reminds me...I need a button maker too lolI would like to get one of that too.... I don't believe I find it easy here Just a story about to be an 'early veteran': my nephew is a huge fan of green day and right now he is learning guitar just cause of them he learned Wake me up..., BoBD, Waiting and American Iditot. The thing is: he is just 11 years old he started to listen green day with me when he was 6years and when he did 7 years I got a black all star to him, a punk belt and I did a green day tee to him with AI logo He did a cover of American Idiot with a fake guitar and his new clothes to all his guests All people, even his parents was like WTF?! Sure at that point he didn't know the lyric well but it was pretty cool!!One day he will say to everybody he got into green day at 6 years and I think no one will believe him hehe
B-CIDE Posted March 2, 2009 Posted March 2, 2009 Okay. I'll start by saying that the name of the bootleg was no exaggeration. I was 11 at the time, and it was really a struggle to even get there. I'm lucky my stepdad is self-employed and grew up listening to DK. The very first thing we noticed was how many people were there, and how hard it was to get anywhere close enough to the stage; the area was just so over-saturated with human. Five-hundred feet or so seemed like miles. The band I think was supposed to play for about an hour, but as we all know they got cut off less than halfway through the set. It's actually kind of fitting that they were playing F.O.D when the power went out. First, Billie Joe's mic was cut and he started to look around the side stages as if to say, "WTF, mate? Someone gonna fix that?" Seconds later the rest of the PA feed went down. I wasn't close enough to lip-read, but I could see Billie holding his arms out looking for answers. One of my fondest memories of the band was that moment; BJ and Mike were bullshit when they realized what was going on, but it took Tre a full five seconds (which is a long time to be playing a mic'd kit without knowing the mics have died) before his head began darting around confusedly in classic Tre Cool fashion. It was a free show, but these people came to see a show. It was more confusion where we were with all the chaos going on up front, slowly spreading outward onto Storrow Dr. People were pissed off and taking it out on one another. Fights were starting everywhere. That's when Chuck (my stepdad) said, "This is going to be bad. We're getting the hell out of here NOW." We ran to the Charles/MGH Red Line station as fast as we could to get back to the commuter rail home.It was all over the news when we got home. We found out that a full-on riot had broken out and made it all the way to the downtown area. Every report, of course, blamed it on the band, with headlines like, "Rock Band Green Day Starts Riot at Hatch Shell." Chuck was pissed off, but proud. He said something to the effect of, "I'm glad you're into music but this shit? [points at TV] Never again." I didn't see them again for three more years; my next show was at Lupo's in Providence, RI, December 1998. He remembered what happened, and didn't want to take my friend and I. So after much begging and pleading, he enlisted the help of one of his buddies to make it a four-person trek to the tiny club. That show went much better, even though my wallet did end up getting stolen. Fortunately, since I was 14 there was nothing in it but pictures. It's been a lasting love affair ever since. That's a dope story, I actually have that show recorded on cassette tape, the riot show. That shit was crazy, it's even crazier that you were there!!!!

When AI came out my nephew was 5 or 6 years old. I love taking him places, playing with him and since I almost always had AI on back then, I got him hooked. He has now added International Superhits to his collection, in addition to AI. And he also has the studs punk belt, the Converse shoes, and a couple of Green Day shirts, just like his proud aunt! I think it cost about 20$ ~ Don't take my word for it though lolIf that's the price, that's not bad at all. Gotta look for it next time I go...
