Apparently great minds think alike. lol.
Starbug Posted February 28, 2009 Posted February 28, 2009 OKAYNow.Here's my Tre story. It's long, because I ramble.I first saw him out on the street, while we were in line. I caught sight of a flash of yellow, and I'm pretty sure I was actually the first one on the street to see him. Because I slapped Amanda and then pointed. Then the screams started just a couple of seconds later lol And I was suddenly a mentally challenged 14 year old, and I screamed right along w/ them. He was so close to me, I could smell his cologne, and let me tell you, he smelled wonderful lol He was w/ a bodyguard, and he had a shit eating grin on his face. He was wearing sunglasses, and I'm telling you, he just reeked rock star, ya know? Shoulders slung back, grinning, sunglasses, dressed in shorts and a short sleeved loud jacket, and red converse sneakers lol He stood out like a sore thumb, I don't think he was interested in blending in... And I'm glad. So I stood there and shook for a couple of minutes after he passed, and once the initial excitement of "OHMYGODIT'STRETRETRE" died down, I was suddenly filled to the brim w/ shame. There I was, 28 years old, screaming like a fangirl, totally immobilized. Amanda was able to snap a picture w/ her phone as he passed, but me? I couldn't move. I just let out a little scream, that's all I could do. I promised myself right then and there if I got another opportunity, I would NOT react that way.So jump to hours later, we're finally in the venue, and I turn around, and there he is again, standing at the bar. I get the 45's we bought from Amanda, and muster up the courage and go over there. There are a few young girls standing around him, but he's talking to this woman at the bar who just got Billie Joe's autograph tattooed on her forearm, like juuust had it done. It was still covered in saran wrap. He's saying, "Wow, that's intense. That's devotion!" and then he turns to me, I was looking at the woman's arm, I didn't expect him to talk to me w/ all these people around, and he points at me and says, "She's a better fan than you are!" And I found my tongue! I shook my finger at him, and said, 'No no, look,"and pointed down at my kerplunk daisy on my ankle. He bent down and looked at it (I'm glad it was fairly dark in there, or else he would've seen it was more like a Kerplunk cactus, because it was new and I still hadn't run a razor over it ) "Niiiiice, wow, that's awesome,"sez he. I said, "Thanks, me and my best friend have matching ones," and he said, "Wow, very cool,"and then he turns back to the bar. I'm still standing there, along w/ a few other girls who look like deer caught in headlights. I look at them, and none of them appeared to have the ability to move, so I said to myself, "Self, GO!" so I did. I went up to him, but he was talking to the bartender. So I patiently stood there until he was done, then I put my hand on his shoulder (I am so shy, I still can't believe I did all this, even now lol) and he turned around. I can still see that in my head, him turning around and looking at me over his shoulder, and how close I was, and how unbelievable he smelled. I was really close to him, and I said, "I came all the way from Alabama to see you guys, would you sign these for me and my friend?" He turned around, stood up, and just took the pen from one of the girls who had just been standing there the whole time, and said, smiling, "I came all the way from California! I win!" I said, "Isn't that closer?" He was signing them, and he chuckled, "Did you have geography in school?" "Dude, it's been a whiiiile,"he nodded, and handed me back my records. I patted him on the shoulder again and said, 'Thank you so much,' he nodded, sat back down, and we were done. At least, for a little while lolSo then the show starts, and fun fun fun. I end up having a great view of Mike, but I rarely glimpse Tre. But then they move around, and he's STARING at me. I wasn't sure if he was staring at me, through me, his eyes were 'caught' (ya know, he was zoned out) or if he was thinking, "That's the retard from Alabama who doesn't know geography," or what, but I refused to look away. I just kept staring him down. I swear, this went on for a good 20 seconds, it felt like an eternity. Finally my face turned so red that I had no choice but to smile really big at him. And he smiled back It was like one corner of his mouth came up in a smile, and he looked away. So basically, I stared Tre Cool down, and I'm quite proud of that lolSo that's my Tre story. Kinda lengthy, but very, very, very special to me. The 2nd best night of my life. That whole night was surreal, I got to stand in the bathroom right by the bar and hear them warm up, hear Billie talk to the band. It was beautiful. That, hearing them warm up, made me cry. Beautiful night, such a unique opportunity, and I'm so thankful to be able to tell you guys about it
