Guest Shangri-La Posted February 26, 2009 Posted February 26, 2009 The only thing that bothers me more than the eyeliner (which really didn't bother me at all, I just found it odd that he would cover up his cuteness with that shit on his face) is the "heyyyyy ohhhhh's"
Nimrod99 Posted February 26, 2009 Posted February 26, 2009 The only thing that bothers me more than the eyeliner (which really didn't bother me at all, I just found it odd that he would cover up his cuteness with that shit on his face) is the "heyyyyy ohhhhh's"Oh yeah, those got really annoying after the 3rd time.... oh and "ALRIGHT *insert city name here*". *Knocks Mr. Armstrong upside the head* knock that shit off, it's like listening to a broken record.
sutureself Posted February 26, 2009 Posted February 26, 2009 hey everyone!i used to post here a lot a few years ago, but i totally forgot my username and had to create a new one, haha. anyway, i've been a fan of the guys since 9th grade.. i saw the premier of the basketcase video and i've been hooked since then. i've seen them 17 or 18 times over the years (even though i didn't get to see them until they were touring for nimrod) and have briefly met them a couple times here and there. i was also lucky enough to see pinhead gunpowder three times on their tiny west coast tour last year, and they were probably my favorite shows ever.i'll stop rambling now, but skimming this thread has been fun. it's good to know i'm not the only green day old timer on the internet

Well, personally, I love it. Eyeliner like that on men turn me awwwn I'm odd, though. I mean, it'd be better if they only did occasionally instead of at every concert, tv appearance, and photo shoot lol But I love it, so I'll take it any way they give it to me.hey everyone!i used to post here a lot a few years ago, but i totally forgot my username and had to create a new one, haha. anyway, i've been a fan of the guys since 9th grade.. i saw the premier of the basketcase video and i've been hooked since then. i've seen them 17 or 18 times over the years (even though i didn't get to see them until they were touring for nimrod) and have briefly met them a couple times here and there. i was also lucky enough to see pinhead gunpowder three times on their tiny west coast tour last year, and they were probably my favorite shows ever.i'll stop rambling now, but skimming this thread has been fun. it's good to know i'm not the only green day old timer on the internet Welcome welcome welcome And you're by far no the only 'old timer' on the internet. There are a lot of us. It's amazing that you've experienced all of that, hats off to you. That's impressive
Naked and Famous Posted February 26, 2009 Posted February 26, 2009 It's amazing that you've experienced all of that, hats off to you. That's impressive Indeed!! Hi & welcome back, sutureself!! B-CIDE : *giggles* I have the feeling I'll be splurging a bit on some GD stuff this year myselfLookin' forward to that sig!!I have to agree about the "heyyyyy ohhhhh's" & the "ALRIGHT *insert city name here*"s ~ There's a fine line that BJ definitely crossed lol; I don't know how he wasn't annoying himself& I personally can't fucking stand guyliner; it broke my heart the first time I saw BJ & Tre wearing it. I don't really see it as covering up who you are, but as physically displaying who you are inside (I'd feel naked without my turquoise contacts & eyebrow ring hehe). But...I don't hardly ever wear makeup; it was just mindblowing to see them wearing it, after being so 'we are who we are, don't cover any unsightly blemishes up' in the media back in the day.Though that damn eyeliner sure does accentuate the glory that are Tre's eyes

Starbug Posted February 26, 2009 Posted February 26, 2009 Indeed!! Hi & welcome back, sutureself!! He's got nice eyes. But Tre's are soooo pretty, even in person, not just after being Photoshopped I just got through watching Intl Supervideos and part of BIAB, and I must say there is a HUGE difference between old Green Day and 'new' GD. HUUUYYYUUUUGE! Different vibe, different all the way around. Not to say the 'new' isn't good. It's just different. But it's just plain beautiful to see how far they've come. The size of the crowds, the ability to create 'an event' as BJ put it. But in gaining those abilities, they've lost some things, too. I think that's what FHT was for, maybe. Try to be intimate w/ their fans again, because once you explode, there's not a whole lot you can do about it. I think they've handled themselves beautifully under so much pressure and gaining an all new fanbase.
Nimrod99 Posted February 26, 2009 Posted February 26, 2009 What do you think of the sig for us vets?it's a little big, but I like it.
Starbug Posted February 26, 2009 Posted February 26, 2009 What do you think of the sig for us vets? It's cool, looks like you put a lot of work into it. But yes, you're gonna hafta resize it. It can be no larger than 250px high and 600px long.

But for the most part, this is a really cool community to be a part of. ESPECIALLY when we're all united in Green Day, ya know, when Green Day news drops and such. No matter how old most of us are, we still get all a-twitter. New album!
Nimrod99 Posted February 26, 2009 Posted February 26, 2009 Oh, here's another one... does anyone remember when Tre climbed the globe during the MTV VMA's? Also when Tre was with Dave Grohl and they were making fun of Marilyn Manson. Holy crap, that was hilarious.

Shit didn't Billie start some beef with slipknot cuz of a mask or somethin, I remember that, or something to that effect goin down.
parinaz Posted February 26, 2009 Posted February 26, 2009 man a GD song from kerplunk gave me tears, lolwell here is a story from the past, when i was in middle school i met this girl that was Billies cousin, at first i thought she was BSin me, but well in doubt she was telling me the truth. He was down for the weekend at family gathering of somesort and she invited me to come out, but i was grounded at the time. But she made it up to me and let me sort through a bunch of pic from that day (remember we didnt have digital camera back then) and i picked 3 pics of him and 1 of the "Dookie" Gold Record that he was holding in a case. She blew them up for me, i was sooo happy. Then some girl 3 days later stole them from my back pack . I really wish i could find this girl again, hmmmis this for real? how old is she?
sutureself Posted February 26, 2009 Posted February 26, 2009 yesssss! i remember the globe climbing. they looked adorable at that awards show, haha. i did miss tre and dave grohl mocking MM though.. unless i just laughed so hard it fell out of my brain never to be remembered again. i DO remember when billie would put on a devil mask and grab some maracas and do a "beautiful people" song mockup before playing longview though. i think that was when they were touring on warning.
