Great idea for a thread! I was listening to 39/Smooth the other day also. And yeah, it does bring back a lot of memories. I didn't get that one when it first came out though. That was added to my collection later. I began listening to Green Day with Dookie, so that was college for me...

Yes. And sometimes, Good Riddance gets to me.

Billie Joe is a lyrical god. He's so good at it. And his voice carries so much emotion in it. Whether it be angry, or touching.

That one gets me every time also. Some very personal memories are related to that song.. And on a totally different note, anyone remember when they played Good Riddance on that old ER episode. Back when ER used to be good? Yes, I cried.

haha, I shouldn't be even looking at this thread.

I am about anything but a Green Day veteran.

I don't even 'have' 13 months

Does anyone remember the Black Green Day singles box? It was a very costly import from Japan, it had like 7 singles in it and it was something like $100. I remember I bought that baby, still have it, but it was awesome to get it back in the day. It had the import singles with the b-sides on em, this was before they came out with the Shenanigans CD with all the b-sides on it, I was spending mad money at my local record store to get imports of Green Day, it was an awesome time.

One of the greatest memories i have, is Watching Basket Case and When I come around from Woodstock '94 That aired on Swedish TV which we had recorded. Me and my 9 years older brother sat infront of the TV watching these two songs over and over and over and over and over again for a whole day. This is when i really became a fan of Green Day, their performance just totally blew me away.

Great thread

Wonder why no one haven't made one before :woot:

I've been around since the Dookie era, and I remember that I was the only one on my school who liked them. The other student always teased me for liking them :/

Moving back in with my father, actually ~ He's a bit older & has been having a bit of a rough time since I moved out

Plus, the economy is kicking my ass

 lol

Which reminds me...I might have to look for an old BOP magazine with GD in it today...lol
