And i will be there, along with every other festival they play (fingers crossed). ok.. now gotta catch some money.. and then.. TRAVEL TO ENGLAND!!!!! That seems to be a good plan.. Yes... go for it dude!
Marlon Posted January 9, 2009 Posted January 9, 2009 It's on my birthday! Nice. Too bad I don't live in England.
Hermione Posted January 10, 2009 Posted January 10, 2009 Damn Brits... I'll swap Reading festival for all those Foxboro and Pinhead gigs of you want
Anja Posted January 15, 2009 Posted January 15, 2009 Well, I got a message from someone who´s working for some festivals and bands to organize their concerts and stuff and he said they´re not going to play any festival in 2009.. :/ Does anyone know about that?
Tiffx Posted January 15, 2009 Posted January 15, 2009 Well, I got a message from someone who´s working for some festivals and bands to organize their concerts and stuff and he said they´re not going to play any festival in 2009.. :/ Does anyone know about that?I would be the last person to know anything official. BUT I'm certain that they would play some festivals as part of promoting the new album. You know, before they set any official tour dates or anything.
Hermione Posted January 15, 2009 Posted January 15, 2009 ^Yeah. I don't know anything either , but I'm thinking maybe it could be that they're just not known to be playing any festivals yet. So right at this moment they're not officially doing any festivals just because they haven't released that info to anyone, but they could very well be down to do some. Or maybe they just don't happen to be playing any of the festivals that bloke's involved with.
Nova-Caine Posted January 15, 2009 Posted January 15, 2009 I just assume they would be playing one of the festivals as the normally do but then this is GD we shouldn't assume anything. I am kind of hoping for something special from this tour though, seeing as it is 20 years of Green Day this year. God knows what this band could come up with, I mean did anyone expect them to take the Foxies on such a small intimate tour? I'd love them to do some small venues on this tour, do a kind of '20 Years History tour'. If that makes sense.Or 20 nights at Brixton Academy, i'm not fussy

I don't think they would come to Australia and put on a small show though. Man I wish I lived in America.
M1KEY Posted January 15, 2009 Posted January 15, 2009 They did Reading 2004 a month before AI was released, I don't see why they wouldn't do Reading 2009 a few months after the release of their new album this spring.
madie Posted January 15, 2009 Posted January 15, 2009 Man I wish I lived in America.Wtf! You live in Aussie!! Why say such a thing
Ingrid Posted January 15, 2009 Posted January 15, 2009 I'm sort of counting on them to play at Reading - I know I shouldn't, but I've begun to plan a trip there already. When do they usually announce the headliners?
Jaymee!! Posted January 15, 2009 Posted January 15, 2009 Well, I've already been saving up for a trip to England to visit my friend...perhaps I can just work 3 jobs instead of 2 in order to get there by August

Let's hope they do the same again this time around as it's a wonderfully small venue (for the likes of Green Day to play there anyway). That would be pretty amazing
Guitar4Girl Posted January 15, 2009 Posted January 15, 2009 I'm sort of counting on them to play at Reading - I know I shouldn't, but I've begun to plan a trip there already. When do they usually announce the headliners?Sometime in March I think, but the tickets go quick so I'd buy them on the day they go on sale
Joey Posted January 15, 2009 Posted January 15, 2009 Tickets were released at the end of March last year, or so.I've already got my ticket so I'm sitting pretty comfortably come release day.
Ingrid Posted January 15, 2009 Posted January 15, 2009 Sometime in March I think, but the tickets go quick so I'd buy them on the day they go on sale Okay, thanks
Joey Posted January 24, 2009 Posted January 24, 2009 http://www.dailystar.co.uk/playlist/view/6...t-no-Radiohead/Bear in mind this is the Daily Star, so don't expect gospel but it's not irresponsible to share potentially flawed knowledge. If you can't be fucked to follow the link, it basically says that Green Day are coming to the UK in the Summer for an arena tour and to play Reading. Apparently.
The Disappearing Boy Posted January 24, 2009 Posted January 24, 2009 i can't imagine they would say that without any basis. it makes sense. im about 75-80% sure they'll do reading/leeds this year.
Hermione Posted January 25, 2009 Posted January 25, 2009 ^I can imagine they would . But I don't think it's with no basis in this case, I reckon they'll play it.
OliDayyy Posted January 25, 2009 Posted January 25, 2009 Arena tour?!!I'm definitely going to UK this summer!!!Thanks for posting!
Nova-Caine Posted January 25, 2009 Posted January 25, 2009 Ooooooooooooooh that's interesting, hopefully its true!!
