there was a thing on limewire like a year ago, with a song by green day called jawbreaker, and it wasnt even them, same with one called paranoid which turned out to be basketcase. And i downloaded on that was supposed them doing wonderwall and again it wasnt even them!

Yeah, a while ago on some site, I found "Closing Time" (actually by Semisonic), under Green Day.

Pssh, and someone was stupid enough to use it in a Youtube video. "This is my fav. song by GrEenDay!!"

When I first got internet access I found a song called "Christmas Song" that said it was by Green Day, and having heard that they'd made some funny Christmas songs in the studio while recording AI (that were never put out) I was intrigued. It was some awful, corny random pop-punk song about Christmas by some random band. I wasn't happy!

I can hear the resemblance, but I wouldn't say it's so close that She's a Rebel sounds like a ripoff. I do think these songs are good candidates for the "Songs that sound alike" thread, though )
