1.i cry sometimes when i listen to 'wake me up when september ends'...esp. in bullet in a bible...i can almost feel what billie feels like when singing that song...

2.when i first saw the bullet in a bible dvd and billie finished the concert with good riddance,as soon as i saw the fireworks,i was thinking "oh my god, they're done, the concert's done,it's so sad",then i started crying...

3.sometimes,i also cry when i hear whatsername and good riddance...

AND,i cry when GD gets awards,or something like that...i'm just so proud of them...tears of joy...I JUST LOVE THE BOYS!

i've had a daydream of billie's assination a few times. All these fans were crowded around on a place that resembled the lincloin momument, and they had him in a closed casket being carried. Everyone was sad and there were people singing green day songs.

i remember i'd have this little red wagon of all my green day merch- the t-shirts, pillow, posters, binders, etc- and i walked up to adrienne saying that she should have them. another one flashed foward to where they showed the man who killed him. he was standing behind the podium telling us how sorry he was, and i attacked him. lol.

i haven't had that daydream for about a year, untill i was in the car on my trip. i mean, it was a bit different, i didn't end up beating the shit out of the guy, but i still ended up finding myself a bit watery-eyed when i snapped out of it.

duh. the point of good music is to evoke emotion.

nah not really.. but when I get all sad and depressed I listen to sad songs :lol: and sometimes these sad songs are Macy's Day Parade or Extraordinary Girl, Good Riddance etc. I know they are not very sad songs but they are to me when I am down.. god I sound so emo..

I am sure this thread is for Green Day induced emotions you experienced while awake.

Anyways, I sometimes get emotional listening to certain songs, songs where you can hear the emotion Billie Joe is trying to put across in his lyrics. A lot of the songs on AI are like that, and a load more that I could mention.

I only get emotional over 'Good Riddance'. Not because of the song, but how often it gets misinterpreted. Makes me a tad angry when people say 'oh it's such a lovely goodbye song!'.

^ how do you tend to interpret it? i've heard many different ways, "saying goodbye", a breakup, etc.

dont mind me asking.

I get a bit sad over wake me up when September ends on bullet in a bible, cos of seeing billie with a tear in his eye, but i get emotional over them anyone, when I'm depressed anyway, my best friend is the only one who understands why though

I agree with that with Time of your life, why do people play it at weddings? Its just so wrong!

It's a 'fuck you, I'm glad you're leaving' song.

I've made it very clearly that it will not be played at my funeral.

It's not designed to be a "goodbye" song, its what is it - good riddance. its is goodbye in a bad way sort when you say to an enemy "f** off and i hope you have the time of your f***ing life" sort of thing.

oh, i knew it was sort of a bitter song. it's more of a "bye, haha, fuck you" kind of song. but Billie delivers it tastefully and managed to make it into a ballad.

ah...perfect song though. good riddance, having a blast, whatshername, and 86 all lumped together gets me emotional. i mean, i've been there, so yea...

*confused*

I teared up at my first concert, back in '05, because it had been a long road getting to see them. I've been a fan since '94, and never did get to see them until then. It was a borderline religious experience. Not to mention they can lift me out of any funk I'm in, pretty much.

'Wake Me Up When September Ends' has made me cry. So has 'Good Riddance (Time of Your Life)' when I'm in certain moods (and at the 05 concert, I teared up). Especially Wake Me Up, it reminds me of my dad, and it also reminds me of one of the hardest times in my life. I still don't like listening to it.

aaaaand....

I got a little emotional after the FHT concert, because it was over, and it had been incredible. I mean, the bottom fell out of me. It seemed we waited all day, got hot, nearly starved, all that too forever. And then from the time I met Tre until the time they left the stage for the last time, it was just *SNAP* over like that, and I felt loss. Concert in 05 was that way, too, but I was too pumped and hyped to be depressed that night... At FHT I was exhausted...

Oh, and my best friend cried when FHT played 'Blood Sex and Booze' lol I didn't know that until way later. I would've given her hell if I'd known before that lol Her favorite song.

I forgot to mention....

I was holding my Grandma's hand when she took her last breath.

On the way home after she died, Wake Me Up When September Ends came on in the car and tears were just streaming down my face. (people we looking at me strange at stop lights)
