Opezi Posted November 16, 2009 Posted November 16, 2009 alwaysand when i saw them in TN and billie sang BTL i cried. it went straight to my heart
Tiffx Posted November 16, 2009 Posted November 16, 2009 When I heard WMUWSE yesterday I got a bit emotional just because I realised I'll be seeing them next month. and I know I will cry when they play Good Riddance. Also just watching videos of live shows and getting a feel for the energy in the crowed when Song Of The Century starts to play gives me chills and I think I'm going to burst into tears when I'm actually the one seeing them live haha.
Isabel Posted November 16, 2009 Posted November 16, 2009 Also just watching videos of live shows and getting a feel for the energy in the crowed when Song Of The Century starts to play gives me chills and I think I'm going to burst into tears when I'm actually the one seeing them live haha. That's exactly what I was like watching the videos from the American shows ....and I did cry; every single time
Vespertine Posted November 17, 2009 Posted November 17, 2009 I know it's crazy, but, for some reason, everytime I'm listening to Song Of The Century I feel like crying. Don't know why it happens to me, it's really weird. hahahaBut I've already cried many times listening to W.M.U.W.S.E.Actually, everytime I'm sad and I listen to this song, I cry.
newsflash777 Posted November 17, 2009 Posted November 17, 2009 The only thing that's keeping me sane is the fact that I couldn't possibly afford to fly over to LA after spending all that money on tickets for Manchester/Wembley/flights etc. Phew, god bless my occasional rational thinking Yeah. Lucky you're going to those concerts I'm just sad I won't see Green Day for a year. And that's still not confimed
Isabel Posted November 17, 2009 Posted November 17, 2009 Yeah. Lucky you're going to those concerts I'm just sad I won't see Green Day for a year. And that's still not confimed I thought they said they definitely were doing another US tour :/Even if they didn't confirm it, it's still bound to happen. They did it in 05
Sarah.Scumbag Posted November 17, 2009 Posted November 17, 2009 I got so emotional over not being allowed to see them down in England next June.I cried god knows how many times!
Deekie Posted November 19, 2009 Posted November 19, 2009 yes,I did when I saw them winning the VMA`s Best Rock and when I first saw the video of 21 Guns
Deadbeat Posted November 19, 2009 Posted November 19, 2009 I'm going to sound like an escaped mental patient but I cry at the start of Time of your life. Or the whole way through it. But I do bawl when I hear it. It's the lyrics mostly. I love them, they are out there and left for you to determine what ever way you will. Or that's my opinion. To me it is everything but nothing at the same time. That doesn't make much sense. If someone was to erase this song from history I do believe I wouldn't be able to really analyze things like I do. I sat when I was a kid, or young teen, and looked at the lyrics over and over and made up my own mind what they meant to me. The conclusion was both upsetting and amazing. None of you probably get what I am saying but, basically, that song has a hidden meaning for me, that Only I can hear because I sat and made up my mind all those years ago. While you may hear something entirely different just for you. Shabang !

Kate Austen Posted November 19, 2009 Posted November 19, 2009 American Idiot gets me emotional. I truly believe it's one of the best albums ever made in the last 20 years. I've been a collector and study of Music my whole life. Even have taken many college classes on music history, and plan on getting a degree eventually in that field. I've heard thousands of bands, various genres - and I can honestly say American Idiot is something special. It's more then just music, it actually "captures a time". There was a certain feeling of hopelessness - of being confused, and not knowing where the fuck we were going back in 2004. American Idiot summed up what so many were feeling then. That is why the moment was so special, and why Green Day recognized this. While they certainly blew up with Dookie, I truly believe this took them to new heights - and it was something special. In some ways they became big like U2 - in the sense that, people felt they were a band that could change the world. Even all that aside, musically the album is fantastic. It's a throw back to the classic concept albums of the 60's and 70's - except, it had a pop punk twist to it. Not only were the hooks catchy as all hell, it was just well put together. The story, while simple - was pretty stunning. This emotional tale of trying to discover who you are, feeling lost in all the madness in the world. Love, heart break, temptation. It has so many classic themes. I'm not really sure how much Green Day fans appreciate the album for what it is (I'm not trying to sound condescending) - but I really truly believe, this album is one of a kind. I always tear up during Whatsername. And If I'm not physically shedding a tear, inside it makes me shake. Such a somber song - and it really makes the listener reflect back on the journey/story we just took. Apart of me is sad when I think about all this. While I think 21st Century is a fine album, it is no where as close as American Idiot. And maybe it's unfair to compare the two. As I said, American Idiot captured a time. It was just special, and I feel that magic has kind of died down. Even if the band is still great. I guess Billie was right when he said "we need to capture this moment". Best I can say is - this album is one for the ages.
♥Christian and Gloria♥ Posted November 20, 2009 Posted November 20, 2009 Always feel sorry for Green Day when they're not in a good mood. Cry when Billie cries. Laugh with Green Day. It's normal when you care about music so much and the people who created it.
Mrs. Nobody Posted November 20, 2009 Posted November 20, 2009 Listened to 21cb on the bus today and it teared me up a bit. Not embarrassing at all :whistling:
Kate Austen Posted November 20, 2009 Posted November 20, 2009 I would also add, when I saw them play American Idiot front to back at the Wiltern. It was the end of the AI tour, and everyone know the journey was coming to an end. Everyone next to me knew the story and all the lyrics. I can't tell you how emotional we were during whatsername. Such an epic closer - and live it incredible. Also amazing to see Letterbom (one of my fav songs) - live finally.
catarina. Posted November 20, 2009 Posted November 20, 2009 i cried during BOBD and Time of your Life when they came to Portugal.I also shed a few tears when i saw them the day before the concert.
gdayfreak247 Posted November 24, 2009 Posted November 24, 2009 when my friend and i went to their concert in july, her mom tricked her and made her think they were coming on stage, and she started crying! then she was all mad when she realized they werent on stage and her mom only saw the stage crew tee hee good times
Comedy & Tragedy Posted November 24, 2009 Posted November 24, 2009 I get quite upset every time I hear "Whatsername" and just today I was listening to "When It's Time" and i shed a few tears....After I went to their concert, I got a bit emotional because now i have nothing to look forward to....Y'know?
Tre_Gina Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 I cried when they came on and played 21st century breakdown and cried at the end during time of your life. I think I did quite well!x
carcrashhearts Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 At the last show I went to I cried during the pink bunny/song of the century. During the encore I started bawling my eyes out because it was over, I didn't want it to end.
Guest Hayley Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 It's been a life time since I last got emotional over GD.
Minority_GD Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 The only time I got emotional over GD was when I heard 21Guns just after getting the album.I heard Billie sing the first two lines and suddenly had to cry.
g l o r i a Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 I cried at the end of July 24th 2009, when the show was ending and Beej was out there with his little acoustic guitar playing Last Night On Earth and then Good Riddance.I have a hard time listening to that song because I miss them a lot.
pasalacqua_or_bust Posted January 11, 2010 Posted January 11, 2010 I get emotional over GD all the time. I have certain songs that always get me going, and then sometimes certain songs will just hit me out of nowhere. Viva la Gloria, Jesus of Suburbia, and Coming Clean get me a lot. Then the other day Westbound Sign had me going pretty good. Sometimes I even get choked up just talking or thinking about them. It's ridiculous. And as far as live performances go, I got choked up during Coming Clean, She, and When I Come Around. And Good Riddance, of course. I think it hits me during that one because it's the end of the show, and you've spent all this time waiting for the day to get here, and it's over just like that. And you don't know when they'll be back around or when this opportunity will arise again. It's beautiful, but it kind of sucks at the same time.
