Ever get emotional over Green Day?

I was close to crying when I got tickets to see them a few months back, I missed them on the American Idiot tour and never thought I'd get another chance

Aww... I got the same exact way when my tickets were purchased. I remember sitting with my Dad at his computer on Ticketmaster's site the day after 21stCB came out, waiting for 10:00AM to come. And when it did, I got my tickets in a matter of 5 minutes or so. I was so shaky from being excited and so happy that I thought I was going to cry.

Hearing all this stuff about the American Idiot musical has been making me pretty emotional. It's just such an amazing accomplishment for the guys, especially for Billie, since he wrote all the lyrics. I feel very, very proud.

I don't get emotional over songs that often, but a while ago my eyes got teary when I listened to "21 Guns". And I cried out of happiness when I found out that they're coming to Sweden. I just realized that there's only 5 weeks left until then!

well i almost cried when i saw the videos from the studio last year...........i mean that was so amazing.....finnaly hear something new from their recording.......and when i bought 21st cb and 1, listened to it

I nearly didn't because they went on sale at 10am, and knowing my parents they would forget or screw it up or something. Luckily I was on work experience that week so I wasn't at school and i didn't start work till 11. So when I got them I was deleriously happy. I ended up crying on the bus to work got me some weird looks but who cares, I'm going to see Green Day!

^ I had a tear in my eye when I got my tickets too. And things like that NEVER make me cry, I only ever cry when I'm in the heat of an argument or really upset. It was going from days of stressing over getting tickets to extreme happiness in a matter of seconds that did it

Green Day's music, and other music, has made me feel so many emotions but it's never made me cry. The emotions can be strong but they just don't translate to crying for me.

When Beth phoned me from the first show in Seattle so I could hear The Static Age it was like 5am here in England I just remember laying there in my bed thinking 'yes they're back on the road' I got quite emotional that night

I got really emotional and started crying when they were playing 21st Century Breakdown at the concert I went to. And all throughout the concert I'd start crying again at random times too. My friend saw me doing this and still will not leave me alone over it. I'm the kind of person who hardly ever shows much emotion, and I guess seeing me crying really surprised her.

Yeah I've cried my eyes out over stuff and i love to listen to "hold on" during that. Most of the time, it just clears up my sadness.

But with songs like 21CB or Eulogy or JOS, emotion takes over me and I want to freaking start a fight.

When Billie sang Last Night on Earth at the concert i went to it was insane. It literaly made me hold my chair so i wouldnt fall. He sang it with so much emotion, when he was singing all i was thinking about was my boyfriend. Thats probably lame, but that was just an amazing moment.

Yeah, being as emotional as I am, I sometimes feel so happy when I listen to Green Day, or get so emotionally attached... that I do cry.

I get alot of shit for it too.

I'd definently cry tears of joy at a Green Day concert... haha, damn I wish a wasnt such a baby.

I dont know what I'd do if I met them... but im pretty sure i'd be so happy i'd cry.

Every time I hear "Tell Me When It's Time To Say I Love You" I pretty much start crying.

And of course seeing them live was probably the most emotional I've ever gotten. Listening to American Idiot does it to me too.

I grew up with Green Day and they have been my favorite band since 6th grade and now im graduated.. so yeah Green Day affected who i am as a person and when i saw them live in 2006 i was in the front row, and i cried and screamed my heart out.

Also, i kissed the guy who went on stage and kissed billie joe during knowledge.. so it was like second hand kiss form billie, hahaha yeah they made me pretty emotional cause i was a dumb little girl

I cry at gigs (LOL). I've never been to a GD gig but I've seen many of my other fave bands and I just can't help it.. I fucking burst out in tears the moment they start playing. Actually, when I was at my first Springsteen gig, I think I started crying when I entered the venue..

But that's how much I love music. :kiss:

I cried when I first saw them a month ago. When 21stCB started playing and Mike, Tre, and Billie ran out on stage, I teared up. I had loved them for 6 years and I was right in front. Then Billie Joe was singing JOS and leaned right by where I was standing. I held up a shirt I had made for the concert, and he grabbed it and was smiling while looking it over. And he kept it which then made me so happy, I felt tears in my eyes. Yeah, I get emotional at Green Day concerts.

And I cried when I first heard 21 Guns. I thought it was so beautiful. But when I hear songs like American Idiot or Horseshoes and Handgrenades, I get pumped to jump around everywhere.

I just get really caught up in moments and, if these moments involve a Green Day song, it will only intensify those moments.

I just saw a few brief clips of the AI musical, and I now know what the term "bursting into tears" means. I am so overwhelmingly proud of the guys, there are just no words.
