At the library reminds me of the first Green Day gig i went to, because that is one of the songs i don't hear them play very often and they played it. I can always take myself back to that great day when i hear it.

Last Night On Earth reminds me of the night when I saw them live for the first time. I don't know why LNOE especially, but... I remember that the most clearly : D

21st Century Breakdown, because it's the first GD song I've ever heard live!

Jesus of Suburbia, because I've played it live with gd on stage and it was the best moment of my life.

American Idiot reminds me of making new friends via our dislike for George W. Bush in my sophomore year of high school, because I remember talking to classmates about this song, and we ended up discussing our political affiliations.

I've finally gotten around to learning how to drive (got my temps this summer), and the same day I got my temps, I bought my ticket to see Green Day, and all this fall while I've been driving, I've been listening to 21CB in the car, so as my mom said, a couple of years from now, I'll look back on 2009 from the summer-fall and think about that album as a whole.

God, so many Green Day songs remind me of significant things. But I suppose that's because I started listening to them when I was just 13 and I've loved them ever since...so it was all throughout my turbulent teenage years

I Was There reminds me of summer 2005. Listening to it made me realise how much of a nostalgic person I am and now I sort of need to rely on positive memories to be happy about things. It really reminds me of the day I saw BJ in town as well, because I was really getting into that album around then and every time I hear a certain part of the song it always makes me think of that day :D

I feel like as if nearly every single Green Day song holds a different memory from different moments in my life. Does anyone else think that or is it just me?

Awh that's good

I always think that each album represents a different period of my life and all the songs pinpoint certain people/times/places/moments/feelings, etc. of that period

As freaking cliche as it is right now Time of Your Life is playing a huge part in my life. My best friend and I are being lead in completely different directions that make it basically impossible to remain as close as we've always been.

When I listen to the song I remember all the good times we had like when he came to my graduation and puked in the auditorium because he was hung over ("Dude, it was awesome! You walked across the stage and I was cryin' and hocking up Jose Cuervo at the SAME TIME!") or when we got lost on the way back from a movie and ended up at the beach five hours away. I'm sad we're drifting apart, but I'm happy we're doing it on good terms so that I can still look fondly back on all those photographs and still frames in my mind... even if I am a bit bitter about it all.

Welcome To Paradise is big on my playlist right now too. My friends at college got an appartment 2 minutes from school that I stay at a lot. To give you an idea of what its like the other morning I walked out bare footed to get something out of my car and a man stopped me saying, "Honey, you better get some shoes on. They've been findin' needles all over the place." No one delivers there either because some one got stabbed last month. It. Is. Awesome!

I agree with Isabel. Each song and album reminds me of some moment, something in my life that shaped who I am. But some specific ones that stand out...

BOBD: hearing this song in school and going "Wow this song is a masterpiece, I wonder who does it" (been a Green Day fan since).

Waiting: waking up and listening to this song and knowing that I would shortly be leaving to see GD in Sacramento.

Song of the Century: after months of anticipation, hearing SOTC over the speakers in Sac and bursting into tears while shouts of "THERE THEY ARE" filled the arena.

So many songs, so many memories!

I got into soundcheck in Glasgow, and they played Maria. I was standing next to Green Day Tone (the lunatic with the bad timing in Bullet in a Bible) and he put his arm around me and we stood together on the barrier singing our hearts out. Bill spotted us and gave us one of those "aaw, bless" smiles. He probably thought I am Tony's mum!

21st Century Breakdown makes me feel so elated. Watching them come on stage to that song was fantastic - those 'oooo' s get me every time. It's a great track because there are so many instrumental gaps in it where they can make contact with their fresh audience. During this song at the first UK show in Glasgow, I held up a sign - "Welcome home, boys. We've missed you" and both Billie and Mike read it and smiled - Mike blew me a kiss too.

At the same show, Billie walked right to the end of the stage where I was standing during JOS - he taps his head when he sings 'the space that's in between insane and insecure' and I did too. He smiled so sweetly, then sang the the next two lines staring into my eyes.

They performed Misery at soundcheck in Las Vegas at the request of my friend Lauren, who had printed out the words because BJ claims to have forgotten them. The look on his face when Lauren handed him the printout was priceless. He pretended to be cross, but he just grinned and grinned, picked up an acoustic guitar and played it, with the rest of the band joining in.
