sharon mitchell Posted October 20, 2008 Posted October 20, 2008 She.That song made me change my lifestyle - it made me realise that I was behaving and dressing to please everyone but myself. Not any more. Warning too We all follow rules blindly, but sometimes it's good to take a risk. If I followed the rules, I wouldn't be posting this now.
midlfecrysis Posted October 20, 2008 Posted October 20, 2008 "Good Riddance" alot lately cause I feel I've been "Tested" alot with raising my teenage son, along with other issues that have been testing me lately. Being I'm a person in recovery, when I'm tested, I often want to reach for a drink, and believe me I have at times. I just love the line "So make the best of this test and don't ask why..." It is so true. Sometimes we don't understand why things happen the way they do,but must have faith that it will be alright.
Sugaree Posted October 20, 2008 Posted October 20, 2008 WMUWSE reminds me of Australia, and how I had good times there before my life became a complete living hell.
Billie's__Babe Posted January 3, 2010 Posted January 3, 2010 21 Guns reminds me of the whole day my uncle died. I cried so much than i have ever cried about anything. He died(I should say murdered) on april 4th of 2009.
Peace and Rainbows Posted January 3, 2010 Posted January 3, 2010 WMUWSE reminds me of the day my friend died. I just remember days where I would listen to that song and I would be crying in bed.Rest in peace DianaDecember 28 2005
AleKerplunk Posted January 3, 2010 Posted January 3, 2010 when i hear "American Idiot" or "Jesus Of Suburbia" i always remember when i met Green Day. When I heard these songs on radio in 2004 and i don't know. with Jesus Of Suburbia I remember the neighborhood where he used to live when i was younger

newsflash777 Posted January 3, 2010 Posted January 3, 2010 I have a love/hate relationship with American Idiot as an album, just 'cause that's honestly what got me into them, and my life was so easy back then, so when I hear it, I don't know, it just triggers something that makes me cry. /runonsentence
Rebel07 Posted January 3, 2010 Posted January 3, 2010 when i hear wake me up when september ends i think about the first time i heard it, it was the song that made me fall in love with billies voice.and now everytime i hear longview, i think of being on stage again
vessy Posted January 3, 2010 Posted January 3, 2010 BOBD - how I felt while my dad was dying and Wake me up when September Ends for the same reason just made me fall in love with Green Day, cause their music helped me so much in those times.
elisa Posted January 3, 2010 Posted January 3, 2010 the whole 39/smooth album reminds me of my trip to Sweden 5years ago.Boulevard also has a special meaning to me and reminds me of a certain moment of my life.
ems Posted January 3, 2010 Posted January 3, 2010 I have a love/hate relationship with American Idiot as an album, just 'cause that's honestly what got me into them, and my life was so easy back then, so when I hear it, I don't know, it just triggers something that makes me cry. /runonsentenceThat's a good way of putting it. I have a love/hate relationship with a lot of songs actually, not just Green Day. Sometimes I love the song so much but don't actually want to listen to it because it makes me sad or reminds me of something I don't want to be reminded of :/ Usually I just listen to it anyway
sharon mitchell Posted January 3, 2010 Posted January 3, 2010 Wake Me Up When September Ends was the first song I heard on the first anniversary of my wonderful dad's death. I cried my eyes out. (He was in the navy, and I wear an anchor pendant to remember him. When Billie Joe saw the pendant in May last year, and I told him the story, he gave me a hug. How sweet is that man?)Tears happen from time to time, but I can guarantee that this band usually puts a huge grin on my face. I love 'em to pieces.
minorityxdisturbed Posted January 3, 2010 Posted January 3, 2010 A lot of parts of Jesus of Suburbia reminds me a lot of parts of my past and present too.And Minority reminds my whole life.

Mrs. Nobody Posted January 3, 2010 Posted January 3, 2010 KFAD reminds me of the trip to Sardinia a couple of years ago.But otherwise, nothing really really significant stands out. Maybe my mind's just gone black.. but yeah..
Mrs. Nobody Posted January 3, 2010 Posted January 3, 2010 Tbh songs remind me of certain places.Brainstew reminds me of the park in town, Give me novocaine reminds me of the hallway near gym class in my old school, Homecoming of art class ..riight
Juliette Posted January 3, 2010 Posted January 3, 2010 I couldn't really say off the top of my head that a song signifies a specific memory for me, but there'll be times I'm listening to songs and I'll suddenly flash back to a certain time where I listened to that song or something.Mostly though some bits of songs I've heard live take me back to being right in front of them as they played it.A lot of their songs just remind me of being young cause I grew up with Green Day and at one time or another I was obsessed with a certain song / album, and sometimes hearing it again brings back memories.
