Starbug Posted October 17, 2008 Posted October 17, 2008 Wake me up when September ends-reminds me on my father. he die 3 years agobut so much Green day songs reminds me on some time of my lifeThat song reminds me of my dad, too. Mine died 3 years ago, as well. It's a sad song, and if I'm in a certain mood, I can't listen to it.American Idiot off of BIAB takes me straight back to the concert, which happened 3 years ago, yesterday. Everytime I hear it, i think of how exciting it was when they ran onto the stage... ahhh memories...
chatnoir Posted October 17, 2008 Posted October 17, 2008 Insomniac and AI, the whole albums remind me of a time last year, when I decided to stop hanging around whining and make the big desicion to move back to my hometown to start my own business there. I was listening to both of the records all the time and I am convinced, that this finally gave me the courage to take the risk. I was like: God, there is so much energy in this music, wtf, I`ll have to do something with my life.
jose armstrong Posted October 17, 2008 Posted October 17, 2008 Letterbomb, is the song i was listening to while i was showing my paperwork to the immigration officer when i was coming to live here for good, it reminds me of the whole moving situation and the huge change in my life plus, it does describes part of my situation.I was listening to both of the records all the time and I am convinced, that this finally gave me the courage to take the risk. I was like: God, there is so much energy in this music, wtf, I`ll have to do something with my life.yeah, i gotta say maybe i love AI so much because it was there in one of the most important points in my life, and it really helped me to change.
adelineidiot Posted October 17, 2008 Posted October 17, 2008 wmuwse is about sth that completely ruined a friend's life and some ppl here know.but anyways basket case IS me(except for the whore thing)and time of your life makes me cry because has loads of things hat remind me of ppl that now are in heaven(or hellXD)
Hayley Posted October 17, 2008 Posted October 17, 2008 WMUWSE reminds me of my mom. she died of cancer when I was 8, and her birthday was in September.
Katarina. Posted October 17, 2008 Posted October 17, 2008 Actually there are a lot of Green Day songs that I can relate to some part or happening in my life.AI as itself was just about thinking that, well, accepting the way I am, and just do whatever I like.Another song, which also is my favorite, is waiting. Everytime I accomplish something that took like ages, and then it'sfinally there, then I'm very happy at that moment, that it came out great. "I've been waiting a long time for this momentto come I'm destined for anything at al"
acoustix Posted October 17, 2008 Posted October 17, 2008 Two that describe myself very well... Kerplunk!'s "No one knows" and "Who Wrote Holden Caulfield?"
drumstick Posted October 17, 2008 Posted October 17, 2008 That song reminds me of my dad, too. Mine died 3 years ago, as well. It's a sad song, and if I'm in a certain mood, I can't listen to it.American Idiot off of BIAB takes me straight back to the concert, which happened 3 years ago, yesterday. Everytime I hear it, i think of how exciting it was when they ran onto the stage... ahhh memories...ah..im sorry for your father..and u made me cry...omgu was on concert at Milton Keynes..fuck!!I only can imagine how great was..ahh
Guest TwoDollarMellie Posted October 18, 2008 Posted October 18, 2008 Hahhaha I made this topic, but I never really posted anything on it.Well, basically anything off of Nimrod reminds me of summer '07, many songs off AI remind me of the last few days before my 8th grade graduation, "Are We The Waiting" reminds me of Thanksgiving '06, and "Redundant" reminds me of Winter break last year.
Ayame Posted October 18, 2008 Posted October 18, 2008 Ok, this is not really a Green Day song related, but Time of Your Life, the line that goes'for what it's worth, it was worth all the while'that reminds me of the song For what it's worth by Amber Pacificand that reminds me of a friend who died earlier this year.
cartoonjunkie Posted October 18, 2008 Posted October 18, 2008 Blood, Sex and Booze reminds me of the time we got into a car accident while listening to that song...
jennyriot Posted October 18, 2008 Posted October 18, 2008 wake me up when september ends...i had too many people die in my life
14razorbacks Posted October 18, 2008 Posted October 18, 2008 macy's day parade for when i first went to santa cruz and decided i wanna move there,"lesson learned, it's all that i wanted.."and just generally different albums as a whole remind me of when i was a bit younger and got them and worked out what i was.. well, like.
Ayame Posted October 18, 2008 Posted October 18, 2008 Oh yeah Boulevard of Broken Dreams.Reminds me of the day I fell in love with Green Day.Ok, it sounds a bit (maybe a bit more than that) teenie, but at least I don't go around shouting'OMMGZZZZ!!!1 Blvd of broken dreamz is liek teh bset song!!!!!1 EVA!!!'Alright? Then there's Hitchin' a Ride which really got me into 'older' Green Day songs.
Hermione Posted October 18, 2008 Posted October 18, 2008 ^I don't think that makes you sound like a "teenie" at all. It's a beautiful song.It reminds me of when I first got into Green Day too , along with the rest of American Idiot since I heard it all in one go.
Starbug Posted October 18, 2008 Posted October 18, 2008 ah..im sorry for your father..and u made me cry...omgu was on concert at Milton Keynes..fuck!!I only can imagine how great was..ahh Nooo no lol I didn't go to Milton Keynes. I was at the one in Nashville, TN in the US
Celes Chere Posted October 18, 2008 Posted October 18, 2008 Yeah, when I hear any song from nimrod. reminds me of this guy I feel in love with back in 2003, when I bought it.Aaaaand Minority and Warning reminds me of me and my cousing getting lost in Texas.Basket Case..... high school of course!
permanent_insanity Posted October 18, 2008 Posted October 18, 2008 2,000 lightyears away reminds me of my ex-boyfriend, even though he is only like 30 or 40 miles away and we goto school together sometimes when we talk it feels more like 2000 lightyearsno one knows reminds me of after the break up (over the freaking phone, coward) pretending I'm fine when talking to him or when my friends asked about the breakup, also making a attempt at coping with the fact that I still like him whatshername and scattered make me think of friends that distance or differences have forced me to drift away fromlongview sorta represents the constant boredom caused by living 20 miles from something to doMinority is pretty much my theme song because I'm such a freak at school
sharon mitchell Posted October 18, 2008 Posted October 18, 2008 Wake Me Up When September Ends was the very first song I heard on the radio on the anniversary of the day my dad died.I cried my eyes out, just like BJ does when he sings it. Such an emotional song.
Ayame Posted October 19, 2008 Posted October 19, 2008 ^I don't think that makes you sound like a "teenie" at all. It's a beautiful song.It reminds me of when I first got into Green Day too , along with the rest of American Idiot since I heard it all in one go.Oh thanks god If I hadn't bought American Idiot that day, I wouldn't be here.Which doesn't sound so brilliant to me since I met some really good friends here.
J'net Posted October 19, 2008 Posted October 19, 2008 Wake Me Up When September Ends was the very first song I heard on the radio on the anniversary of the day my dad died.I cried my eyes out, just like BJ does when he sings it. Such an emotional song.It is. Sometimes just focusing on the guitar can make me cry. It's so beautiful.Sorry about your dad <<hugs>>.
Terri Posted October 19, 2008 Posted October 19, 2008 When I was in 7th grade, I went through a very emotional stage. I thought no one cares about me and I was alone and no one understands, etc. So I listened to Castaway and She a lot.
Carla D. Posted October 19, 2008 Posted October 19, 2008 Yeah. Many songs remind me of something significant...I blogged about this. >.< Here. >.<
