bjrules Posted March 16, 2008 Posted March 16, 2008 Wake me up when september ends reminds me of my uncle dying just last year. And i can relate to a few songs of 1039 SMOSH.
starbucksfreak Posted March 16, 2008 Posted March 16, 2008 Waiting and 2000 light years away reminds me someone and BOBD reminds me of when life was amazingly great!
The Malcontented One Posted March 16, 2008 Posted March 16, 2008 Long View reminds me of when i first got into Green Day. I hadn't really heard swearing and sex references in songs before so i thought it was brilliant. Oh and Platypus (I Hate You) reminds me of when i slapped the most popular lad in my year for calling me fat. The lines: 'Remember, Whatever, It seems Like forever ago' from whatsername are written over a picture of my closest friends and is stuck on my wall. Good Times.
BiLLie170272 Posted March 27, 2008 Posted March 27, 2008 uhhmm..the sOng..no one knows..is the song that relates to me ryt now..about my "so-called" friends..left me...they're not even talking to me..but i think they're thinking wrong things about me coz they dont know how i feel..well..3 people replaced me in our group..no one knows..i dont know what to do but they really suck!.. gOod riddance (time of your life)..abOut my liFe and the challenges i had to encounter at a very yOung age..high schoOl liFe is an adventure!!!...but sometimes..u just might fall down in that adventure..and stOp for a mOment..and when you had your chance to mOve on..just stand up and fight again..against the pain and sorrow =) that's what i learned..
BabsBurnoutGirl Posted March 27, 2008 Posted March 27, 2008 I kinda have a soundtrack to my life; Stuart and the Ave. is one of those songs that just define one of those times...
nomi89 Posted March 28, 2008 Posted March 28, 2008 A song that reminds me of a time in my life would be Wake Me Up When September Ends. I chose this song because I left home in September 2005 when I was 15. It just reminds me of that. Also, the song is about Billie Joe's father's death from cancer. My dad hasn't died, but he suffers from a disease called Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (just google it). So I can kinda understand some of the emotions that he had. The helplessness...
Homecoming Jake Posted March 30, 2008 Posted March 30, 2008 oh, and jesus of suburbia. everything from bad to worse keeps happening at home, and i'm starting to relate more and more to it.Oh wow, That is exactly whats happening with me Im glad ome one else has or is going through the shit I am at the moment but I have Green Day so no worries
Lauren Posted March 30, 2008 Posted March 30, 2008 16. Although I'm not quite 16 yet, I can relate to it because of all the pressures being put on me to grow up, and I still wanna be a kid, and I can't stand it.
Trotsky Posted March 31, 2008 Posted March 31, 2008 Jesus of Suburbia reminds me of my "Do every last fucking drug I can find" phaseAnything on BIAB reminds me of the best winter break ever.16. Although I'm not quite 16 yet, I can relate to it because of all the pressures being put on me to grow up, and I still wanna be a kid, and I can't stand it.That sucks. You're 14, 14 year olds are supposed to be immature, ultra-horny freaks. Don't grow up, that'll ruin your life.
goodday Posted March 31, 2008 Posted March 31, 2008 Letterbomb....remind me a friend I used to love.Waiting....remind me really happy things.
Guest Phoebe. Posted March 31, 2008 Posted March 31, 2008 International Superhits and American Idiot reminds me of driving around Portugal with my dad in a convertable car BOBD was on the radio constantly, so I'd just put on my mp3 player and jig around the golf course we stayed on.'05 baby!!
Homecoming Jake Posted March 31, 2008 Posted March 31, 2008 I can relate to it because of all the pressures being put on me to grow up, and I still wanna be a kid, and I can't stand it.same here, Im caught up in exams, losing friends, my parents on my back, lack of money and the list goes on, Im still to young to get a job oh and lack of social skills, I need more people to talk to GReEN DaY for Life \m/
NadineSophie Posted March 31, 2008 Posted March 31, 2008 F.O.D. & Platypus remind me of an argument with an ex-friend of mine and when I listen to Waiting, the first thing I remember is the night my daughter was born. I heard that song all the time on that day.
Jewels! Posted March 31, 2008 Posted March 31, 2008 Road To Acceptance, simply because I was listening to it at the time of a major life-changing moment.
saurus Posted March 31, 2008 Posted March 31, 2008 uhhmm..the sOng..no one knows..is the song that relates to me ryt now..about my "so-called" friends..left me...they're not even talking to me..but i think they're thinking wrong things about me coz they dont know how i feel..well..3 people replaced me in our group..no one knows..i dont know what to do but they really suck!.. gOod riddance (time of your life)..abOut my liFe and the challenges i had to encounter at a very yOung age..high schoOl liFe is an adventure!!!...but sometimes..u just might fall down in that adventure..and stOp for a mOment..and when you had your chance to mOve on..just stand up and fight again..against the pain and sorrow =) that's what i learned.. Your "writing style" irritates me somewhat. A fair amount of songs remind me of things, but the one I can think of right now is Hold On. I listened to Warning a lot when I was going through some pretty dodgy stuff a couple years ago, so I guess it just reminds me of how I was and how now I'm moving on and whatnot.
BabsBurnoutGirl Posted March 31, 2008 Posted March 31, 2008 I posted on this thread a few days ago... but I think I finally have a better answer...Poprocks and Coke remind me of my absolute best friend, and having to let her go... (I even put it on a mixtape that I made for her once...)Worry Rock and Whatshername remind me of my ex, and our breakup
whathappenedtopunk? Posted April 1, 2008 Posted April 1, 2008 WMUWSE reminds me of my nan. she died last september.
Kimpsu Posted April 1, 2008 Posted April 1, 2008 I have to say it's Good Riddance (Time Of Your Life)
**kookai** Posted April 1, 2008 Posted April 1, 2008 good riddance, getting rid of bastard boyfriends and bastard people that were in my life
Homecoming Jake Posted April 2, 2008 Posted April 2, 2008 I went and bought the 'american Idiot' album as soon as it was released and I went back 2 my friends house and listened to it all day, for some reason there is only one song that reminds me of that day, and its BOBD even tho i listened to the whole album i dont know how many times that day!
spare Posted April 2, 2008 Posted April 2, 2008 Longview, because it describes what i do almost everyday. Minority too because i just wanna be myself. Green Day(band) the music just in general describes moments that happened in my life also, usually in some little snippets of every song.
billiesgirl Posted April 2, 2008 Posted April 2, 2008 wake me up when september ends is is just like a song sad...but for me it is a really special song cause my father dided from cancer when i was 12...and he died in september, just like billies father....so i know how was billie feel in that moments...every time when i herd that song my tears just streaming down my face...i cant controll that...and when i listening 2000 light years away i always remember billie joe armstrong cause i love him so much.....this is not some teenage fantassy...i love him really.... i live in croatia, and he live in oakland....so this is more than 2000 light years away, and i know i never gonna see him....but....I SIT ALONE AND WATCH THE SUNRISE LOOKOUT AS FAR AS I CAN, I CANT SEE HIM BUT IN THE DISTANCE I HEAR SOME LAUGHTER....WE LAUGH TOGETHER.......i love u billie xxx
spark in the night Posted April 4, 2008 Posted April 4, 2008 Only Of Youwhen I had this dumb crush on this one kid at school.
