beth hardy Posted July 20, 2006 Posted July 20, 2006 i say 'fuck' alot...im pretty sure that's Billie's fave. cuss word...but for the good...um idk..i haven't turned all hyper...like Billie,or mostly Tre....
Totally obsessed Posted July 20, 2006 Posted July 20, 2006 Since I started listening to Green Day I've been swearing a lot more. They've taught me that it's good to be individual - be the minority and to not give a fuck what others think of you. Plus they've really inspired me with my music and it's cos of them I learnt the guitar. They've really changed me as a person and therefore have changed the way my life is - for the better! Thanks GD!
x● Mrs. Tré Cool ●x Posted July 20, 2006 Posted July 20, 2006 they got me interested in playing guitars, getting into real music... idk they kinda created me. i love them for that yea!! exactly!! i couldnt agree with that any more I agree since i've been listening to Green Day i got that attitude, too and they kinda helped me trough rough times

starbucksfreak Posted July 20, 2006 Posted July 20, 2006 green day has influenced me to become a better person. by that i mean having common sense and be who i am and not care what other people think
Khaleesi. Posted July 20, 2006 Posted July 20, 2006 The influenced me musically, to play guitar and drums. They also influenced me to not care what any one thinks about me, and to have fun when you can.I got the "I dont give a fuck" attitude as well
Hayley Posted July 20, 2006 Posted July 20, 2006 I agree since i've been listening to Green Day i got that attitude, too and they kinda helped me trough rough timesI've got that additude too. Green Day taught me not to give a fuck about what other people think.
sixstrings Posted August 1, 2006 Posted August 1, 2006 They have influencedin a good way and pushed me make a band and try to make it
kittenslayer Posted August 1, 2006 Posted August 1, 2006 The important thing is... how many of you actually listened to greenday's political messages on the latest album? The influenced me musically, to play guitar and drums. They also influenced me to not care what any one thinks about me, and to have fun when you can.I got the "I dont give a fuck" attitude as well That sounds lame... rather "limp bizkit" like.
spark in the night Posted August 1, 2006 Posted August 1, 2006 i think the only bad influence would be that I cant get enough of them every other influence is positive and the benefit for me
suicidexmakeover Posted August 1, 2006 Posted August 1, 2006 'I started listeneing to your music in 2004 when American Idiot came out. That album introduced me to a whole new way of living, thinking and seeing. It changed my life and I will always thank you for that. I can remember the first time I heard Boulevard of Broken Dreams on the television and I was hooked. I couldn't believe I hadn't heard of you before and was deseperate and intrigued to find out more about this amazing band. When I found out you had a number of albums I coudldn't believe it. My music taste totally turned around with such force it changed me as a person and was so noticable that my mum asked me what had made me change so radically.''When I was about 10 or 11 I had decided that it was always best to keep your opinions to yourself, to follow the crowd, and to agree with everything. I thought it best that way, as you never get put down or frowned upon for being 'different' or 'unique'. People made me feel like it was better to keep myself to myself and not to 'break the mould'. But the messages incorporated through your songs made me realise that I shouldn't have to be like that. You made me stand up for what I believe and speak my mind. You made me feel comfortable to voice my opinions and strong enough to take the disagreements.'
punk-rock girl Posted August 1, 2006 Posted August 1, 2006 I only think this: every song of Green Day is a part of my fucking life...'cause THEY ARE my life.thank to exist
spark in the night Posted August 1, 2006 Posted August 1, 2006 Kirsty, is that a letter or something? did you write to Green Day?
Jewels! Posted August 1, 2006 Posted August 1, 2006 When I started listening to Green Day I became so much more outspoken...I became myself again, like in elementary school..but smarter. I stopped caring what people think. I also became indecisive and I wasn't paying as much attention in school anymore.Maybe that's just me developing OCD or something... Seriously though, my mom has it, and I'm scared.
suicidexmakeover Posted August 1, 2006 Posted August 1, 2006 Kirsty, is that a letter or something? did you write to Green Day?yeah it's part of a letter i wirote to them but i'm only giving it to them if i meet them.the full one is in my thread in the underground.
gdp Posted August 1, 2006 Posted August 1, 2006 influenced me for the good, now i'm a stronger person!
Boston Posted August 2, 2006 Posted August 2, 2006 No matter where i am or what i'm doing if i hear a Green Day song it just kinda makes me feel good. Like Green Day just makes things better. Always.I know that sort of feeling. Dookie helped me get through sexuality issues, issues of losing friends, and it always makes me wanna masturbate.
punksaves Posted August 2, 2006 Posted August 2, 2006 Green Day has influenced my life in so many ways. I live with my mom, grandmother, and grandfather. (My uncle used to live with us) My uncle killed himself and my family started to fall apart. I had lived with him my whole life so I was of coarse really upset, but on top of that my grandmother was not handling it well considering it was her son. I was having to worry about her also killing herself and my mom was just choosing not to talk about it. Then I found Green Day and they made me feel better about everything. Even though they have not gone throught the same thing as I have it was like they understood. Green Day got me really into punk rock. They are the first band I fell in love with and connected with. They made me have that I don't give a fuck what anyone says attitude and taught me to be myself. They changed my life and actually saved my life. This might sound dumb that a band can made this big of difference, but they can. Thanks for listening to me I know it was a kinda long story but I don't really have many people where I live that understand the influence of punk.
amber-kay Posted August 2, 2006 Posted August 2, 2006 They've influenced me in so many ways..good and bad.Since I started listening to them, I curse a lot more..I used to not curse at all. But, they've taught me to be myself and to not care what everyone else thinks.I've learned to do what I think is right, and not the crowd is doing.I used to follow trends..big time. Now, I look down on people that conform. There are more ways I've changed, but those are the main ones.I'm glad I've been influenced by them.Otherwise, I wouldn't be me.
nicoleah Posted August 2, 2006 Posted August 2, 2006 I'd say both, but I don't feel like going into the details.
