AustralianIdiot Posted March 2, 2006 Posted March 2, 2006 They have made me not care what others think about anything i do.
queen_spoon Posted March 2, 2006 Posted March 2, 2006 It's strange seeing loads of people younger than me saying how green day affected them, I really got into them in 1993 when I was about 12 in a strict all girls public school, needless to say there were exactly 2 punks in the school, me and my best mate! Green day really did affect the way I looked at life, I've never gone for the norm but their values affected me and the choices I made even now as an "adult" I still hold true to my values. I left my job a very large book/music store, I just realised one day that I hated working for a huge corporation that didn't want their employees to think for themselves or have opinions, all I was there to do was sell people as much as possible and stack shelves!! So I quit and went to work in A&E (ER) and get assaulted and abused but I really feel I'm doing something worthwhile, making a small difference to peoples lives and not helping a fat american corporation make pots of money!!
Luke of Surburbia Posted March 2, 2006 Posted March 2, 2006 They made me realise how bad Nu Metal in general is lol. (No Offence to you fans out there)Because of them I'm more confident with being myself.
screenname Posted March 6, 2006 Posted March 6, 2006 I have had a huge problem in my life with caring too much what other people think of me, my decisions, my actions, my appearance, viewpoints, whatever. And I mean seriously to the point of making myself physically and psychologically sick over it. I think GD really drives home the message to not give a monkey's ass what other people think. I mean, obviously "doing the right thing" and having morals is a given. But feeling humilated in my own mind because the way I think people may feel about me is just useless and unnecessary. I'm not saying I'm "cured" of that affliction, but they are a great role model to ease that kind of self-induced pain.
Kazza Posted March 6, 2006 Posted March 6, 2006 They haven given me confidence to not care what other people think of me.

ImnotaDrIjustPlayOneOnTV Posted July 20, 2006 Posted July 20, 2006 I wish I could say something constructive like learn an instrument, but unfortunately there are a few bad things. I won't elaborate due to the age of most members here.
Hayley Posted July 20, 2006 Posted July 20, 2006 Green Day taught me not to care what other people think about you.
maddy31 Posted July 20, 2006 Posted July 20, 2006 Green Day's influenced me to learn guitar and want to learn bass and drums...they've also given me the courage to be who i want to be and not follow the popular trends if I odn't like them that much.

~*johanna*~ Posted July 20, 2006 Posted July 20, 2006 Green Day, along with my other favorite musicians, has influenced me to be myself, follow my own path and never listen to people who say I shouldn't. Actually, I think I'll turn on some GD right now......
