Hizz10n Posted June 1, 2007 Posted June 1, 2007 when everything goes to hell, i listen to green day...it calms me down, and i somehow know that in some way everyhings gonna be okay.
Kamilla Posted June 1, 2007 Posted June 1, 2007 It's simple; Green Day made me fall in love with music!
LibertyBelle. Posted June 1, 2007 Posted June 1, 2007 When i was younger i kept changing styles alot, and i was trying to find what sort of music i really enjoyed and stuff, but then i got into green day, and through them got introduced to loads of great bands, so if it wasn't for them, i probably wouldn't be the way i am now. They helped me get through the time when i was really self-concious, and helped me look at the whole, i'll be who i wanna be and i don't have to be scared side of things. Sounds sooo teenie and very cheesy, but its true I changed loads cause of them.
TotalBasketCase13 Posted June 1, 2007 Posted June 1, 2007 Well, to be perfectly honest, without their music I probably wouldn't be alive right now. Other than that, they've influenced me to be more outspoken in my beliefs, and to not really give a fuck about what other people think.
Bryn Posted June 2, 2007 Posted June 2, 2007 In a lot of ways. Well, let me put it this way, they helped with changes already occuring. I had left Evangelical Christianity about two years before American Idiot came out. It is really, really hard to get all that stuff out of your head, about going to hell, your gonna burn you heathen, don;t say that it's wrong, etc, etc. I was shaking that off....and slowly winning. I remember though, one night driving home from work, and "Are We the Waiting was playing. The verse"The rage and love, the story of my life,The Jesus of Suburbia is a lie",came on, and I just started crying out of no where. I realized that whole time in my life, all the things I had been taught and believed were a complete lie. At that one moment, I let it all go. Finally. I know it's odd...They taught me, through all their music, to be tougher about being myself. I have always been different, been myself (well except when I was an evangelical robot. :/ ), and not cared. Now it is different somehow. I am even more proud of it than I was. I guess a fuck you attitude, but not in a mean, "I hate you way", Just in a "you know what, I DON"T CARE what you think" way.I know a lot of people don't consider Green Day punk, but lately I have really started learning about and getting into punk music. Since I have about a million bands to learn about, pick from, etc, it is gonna take awhile. Also, I picked my guitar up because of them. And finally, the ending to my book. Which will be on sale at Borders starting tomorrow. They are helping me through a really, really shitty time in my life.
Relavar Posted June 2, 2007 Posted June 2, 2007 i adore green day.they've inspired my life, but i'm not about to let them be my life.cause there not.im not on all there dicks like most of you.But they are amazing to me.They inspire me musically, and there music makes me feel better.ha, what can i say, Punk Rock is the greatest fucking music on the planet.

Trotsky Posted June 9, 2008 Posted June 9, 2008 Green Day inspired me to do someone else's cocaine, rather than my own. They also inspired me to slice my hand open in a public bathroom.
chickin'pickin' Posted June 9, 2008 Posted June 9, 2008 Music doesn't really inspire me to do anything.Nothing does, really. Yeah, I fail.
