The 99th revolution Posted January 18, 2024 Posted January 18, 2024 Am I supposed to be glad I preordered from a Polish record store chain?
That Dude Posted January 18, 2024 Posted January 18, 2024 Wikipedia says Rob Cavallo plays guitar and piano and that Butch Walker plays guitar as well. Wild. That's different. Rob guitars on Suzie and Saviors and Butch plays on Goodnight Adeline. 1 3

I thought he had it in one of his weekly roundup vids. But I can only find TADIKM which was in worsts of the week and Dilemma which was in "meh". Regardless, I don't think the singles are representative of the album so it wouldn't surprise me if his opinion on some of the non-singles differs from what he thought of the singles. Again, I'm not expecting anything more than MAYBE a 5/10 but this is the same guy who put the trilogy in the same tier as AI, and put 21CB in E tier in his GD tierlist video (below every album except FOAM) so who the fuck knows At this point, it feels like he is unwilling to approach new Green Day music with an open mind. I think he has decided he doesn’t like them a long time ago and he’s not going to change his mind about it. So as far as I’m concerned, his opinion doesn’t really matter. 9

That's different. The guys were impressed when they first met Cavallo in 1993 because he wasn’t just a “suit”, he was a musician too and knew how to play every Beatles song on guitar. And Walker is also a working musician besides a producer who’s been in several bands 2

Popular Post The Grohl Posted January 18, 2024 Popular Post Posted January 18, 2024 Something I noticed about Dilemma when I was listening to it this morning. I love the way it opens especially the way everything gets hushed and then we hear this BOOM before the song picks up and Billie sings "I've been sober now I'm drunk again!" I love that moment because of the anticipation. Also, not sure if this was intentional, to me is sounds like the THUD of Billie hitting the floor after passing out. 5 1

That Dude Posted January 18, 2024 Posted January 18, 2024 I haven't picked out too many teasers in the songs, but Coma City is definitely one of them. One of the first teasers.
Popular Post Christian's Inferno! Posted January 18, 2024 Popular Post Posted January 18, 2024 Back when 1981 was played live, everyone thought nothing of it because it sounded generic and repetitive. Back then, I said multiple times that good production could really make that song great and I'm so glad I was right about that because 1981 is absolutely a highlight for me on the album and it seems that a lot of people consider it a highlight. The chorus is just a great catchy singalong but the verses sound really good on the album too and the song is short enough that the repetition doesn't get annoying 9

I wasn't impressed with it until I heard the quality recording....last night.
DJ Rosstar Posted January 18, 2024 Posted January 18, 2024 While nothing blew me away on this record besides ‘Dilemma,’ I enjoy it more than ‘RevRad’ and ‘FOAMF.’ The sound is a ‘return to form’ of sorts musically to ‘American Idiot’ and ‘21CB,’ but, in my opinion, the lyrics aren’t nearly as strong. 2
StefanD Posted January 18, 2024 Posted January 18, 2024 currently 5am and just started the Album- Happy Saviors day! 4

But after hearing it on the saviors album it went downhill for me. I hate it when that kind of phase happens. 1

It's still a good song though. 1

Realistically Green Day’s singles have always been their weakest songs. The only single I truly get the most out of now is LMNB. Even in context of the full album. 1

But that's a good thing IMO. I don't think any songs on the album are skip-worthy, I love all of them. 5

Popular Post 龑美優 Posted January 18, 2024 Popular Post Posted January 18, 2024 Bobby Sox is great. The entire album is, really. It's such an emotional experience finally listening to the album repeatedly throughout the day. 6
That Dude Posted January 18, 2024 Posted January 18, 2024 I need to do a full listen, but I just keep skipping all the singles. Hopefully my indie exclusive will be ready tomorrow morning and I'll listen to the whole thing them. Right now, the album feel very segmented. Like after Amercian Dream, all the songs are sort of in pairs of two. 1
Creckles Posted January 18, 2024 Posted January 18, 2024 I wish Coma City hit harder for me. The solo portion is pretty good but idk how I feel about the rest of the song. 3
