Just let the people have some fun

I'm all about people having fun. If people had fun twiddling their thumbs, I'd be jealous of them. The more fun the better.

Well the lyric videos have been better than the music videos so far. Bang Bang's lyric video was much better, as was the RevRad lyric video. Still Breathing had the best music video but even still,, the lyric video was better. All the lyric videos have been better, except for Ordinary World. That sucked

I hope they make more of an effort for Forever Now.

I don't know why so many people seem to hate the videos of the RevRad era. Ok, Revolution Radio could have been better, especially cause we waited for this video for half a year :D. But it was still fun to watch. The Still Breathing-video is super awesome. It has some beautiful shots! And I like Bang Bang, too. For sure, it's nothing new, but the thing with the masks was really cool and seeing the band play in a video was great after almost four years. I think all new videos are better than everything we got in the trilogy-era.

Do we have any proof that this video will ever come out? There was this interview by Billie Joe, but was it confirmed by the management afterwards? Because I really want to see another video

Yeah, I actually like the RevRad video.:D I have high expectations for the FN vid, though.

I believe they'll release it before the South America tour. If not, maybe they'll put some live footage in it.

I don't hate the videos. I just think the lyric videos were so much better and way more creative. I guess it's easier to make a good lyric video than a good music video. But again, not that the music videos are bad, but they just don't feel that special. SB was pretty good but RR and BB aren't that good

I completely agree. What I loved about the RevRad videos so far is that the boys are in all of them. I personally don't like music videos only with actors where you don't acutally see the artists. I loved the SB video, it's probably my favorite GD music video of all time. So my expectations for Forever Now are high and I hope it will be great because it's such a fantastic and personal song. I really hope this happens, but well, Billie also promised us a FBHT show, so...

Holy a FBHT and an awesome new video would be super amazing. He didn’t promise a show though per se.... he was like: “who’s ready for a fbht show?” He’s a tease! And when was that he said that? Ahah. He’s a tease and I’m impatient. But ya I guess just wait until the South America tour is over and see what happens. Or what are they up to for October? Maybe something crazy. Or not. Who knows?

I've been pretty impressed with both, Still Breathing and Rev Rad are both decent and Bang Bang is particularly entertaining and clever. I've been even more impressed with the lyric videos (especially Say Goodbye and Troubled Times) as well though, and the "leaked"/"unofficial" Troubled Times video. More than anything I'd like them to complete the set and do a lyric video for every song, it would be so cool to watch the whole album.

Forever Now would make for a pretty epic video, though. It took a while to grow on me, but the wall of sound won me over in the end, as it so often does when guitar rock is in the discussion.

That song's actually a big part of why I ended up back into Green Day after basically not listening to them at all for a few years. You could make a successful argument that they're the last band playing 70's arena rock...which is weird, because their genre was one of several created as a direct condemnation of 70's arena rock.

Oh yes I love the song. Sam Bayer being director doesn't fill me with optimism for the video (I've disliked more of his GD ones than I've liked) but it could be good and/or epic if we're lucky so I am looking forward to seeing it!

They’re taking forever now to make this darn video

*sorry I just came in here to make a pun*

Just out of curiosity, what are the videos of his that you don't like? (I'm guessing JoS is one)

You know I think I do like (or don't dislike) most of them now you've asked that, I just hate JOS and WMUWSE so much it clouded my perception . American Idiot and BOBD are good (although I don't think they're amazing genius like a lot of people do about the AI videos), Holiday is excellent. Oh Love and Kill the DJ are pretty mediocre/badly executed though and that was his most recent work with them. On balance I'd still prefer someone else but there is a chance it could be good :P

Yeah I was just curious when you said you disliked more than you liked. I think Oh Love was a great setting for the video, the girls were just completely unneccessary. JoS is pretty bad and idc much about WMUWSE. I definitely think Holiday is his best.

Huh. It's only been a month since the thread was created?
Definitely seems longer.

I've been, waiting a long time for this
Moment to come

'
Wrong song, wrong album. I know , but very applicable in most situations.

We're in one of those phases between Green Day happenings again and it sucks.  I am excited about Somewhere Now and Forever Now getting the single treatment, but at this point I'd also love if they surprised us with Outlaws or Too Dumb to Die as the next single.

Of Course I want Forever Now as a single too, but right now I"m just getting antsy.  I want to hear more from these guys!

I've been listening to lots of Marilyn Manson lately, and I enjoy what he does, but 4 albums on constant blast in my car, I started to get really down and depressed. Usually rock music makes me happy, no matter how dark but Manson really does push it sometimes.  I ended up putting Revolution Radio to at least cleanse my palet and ended up listening to it twice back to back.   Thanks Green Day!  You got me out of that dark, twisted gothic funk I was in.

Haha

This isn't going to be a thing. There is really no point in releasing any more videos for RevRad. The era is basically over

I think FN was just a video they were thinking of doing and then they decided to do one for Back in the USA instead.

Posted

Yeah, this idea can pprobably be put to bed. Back in the USA is a classic GD music video, can't we just be happy with that?

Posted

I'm happy but I was so hype when they announced a forever now music video, this song is my favorite of rev rad !

And sure Back In The USA is totally awesome !
