jetsrule128 Posted October 6, 2016 Posted October 6, 2016 Filming is probably over did any gdc people get in ?
madafaka Posted October 6, 2016 Posted October 6, 2016 I agree with what someone has already said. If they play Still Breathing they'll greatly increase the likelihood of a broader appeal with this record (or that single at least). Jimmy Fallon is probably gonna be the largest media platform they'll have for promotion this time around, as it is probably the biggest American talk show that appeals to a very young demographic (aka potential new Green Day fans). If they play Bang Bang it'll be a strong statement to the critiques that Green Day is keeping true to themselves and keeping the rock torch alive. It would be cool and arguably the best thing for the bands legacy, but something in me still hopes for Green Day hitting it big time at least once more, and Still Breathing is the only hope RevRad has at that. So in conclusion, I hope they play Still Breathing for superficial reasons, but I would respect the choice to play Bang Bang instead. Revolution Radio - the song - would be a misstep though. That one would say nothing except that Green Day is trying to ride the American Idiot wave once more. FIRST TELEVISION APPEARANCE! YOU GUYS! I had totally forgotten all these almost ceremonial milestones that come with each new Green Day record! It's truly a 'new era' and the fourth that I'm gonna be part of!
Josh100_3 Posted October 6, 2016 Posted October 6, 2016 Or they could play Last Ride in with the roots!
Ross_19 Posted October 6, 2016 Posted October 6, 2016 Can't wait to watch their performance back when I'm up in the morning Can't wait to watch their performance back when I'm up in the morning
madafaka Posted October 6, 2016 Posted October 6, 2016 I hoped that either Billie or Jason's choice of guitars at the sound check would give away whether they played Still Breathing or not. Jason has used that guitar for both Still Breathing, RevRad and Bang Bang at the shows so far. From the few videoes I watched on youtube, Billie has used that black Les Paul for neither of those songs. Thus my research has concluded nothing really.

theclassof13 Posted October 6, 2016 Posted October 6, 2016 In that pic, Billie is playing a D chord and Tre is riding on his crash cymbal. I'd put my money on Bang Bang...
xLumian Posted October 7, 2016 Posted October 7, 2016 Out of the three songs released, Still Breathing is DEFINITELY the best call for Jimmy Fallon. Easy for the audience to connect to and feel Green Day again. Billie even said that anyone can connect to it from all the different perspectives offered. No better place to play this song than what will likely be the biggest promotional performance for Green Day. Rev Rad would be a big mistake. Bang Bang wouldn't appeal as much to Jimmy's audience.
Stefano Bras Posted October 7, 2016 Posted October 7, 2016 Still Breathing > Bang Bang. They will probably play the latter tho.
dharmafox Posted October 7, 2016 Posted October 7, 2016 sorry i cant record video for this one i can record audio though, maybe someone else can record video
LPbilliejr Posted October 7, 2016 Posted October 7, 2016 Who knows, they tend to sound check songs they don't play lol. Peacemaker, stay the night in 2010, somewhere now, haha.

sara_gd Posted October 7, 2016 Posted October 7, 2016 Bang Bang was great! I actually heard Billie Joe sing for the first time ever I think With no people shouting. Actually nobody seemed excited for the band, it was a bit weird. I though they were going to be interviewed so I was a little disappointed but it was still great! And the show was fun, cool to see what goes behind the scenes Also I could see Sara and Bill Schneider from where I was sitting, it made it exciting for me

Billie Hoe Posted October 7, 2016 Posted October 7, 2016 I'm reeeeally digging Billie in that leather jacket. I mean. Damn. That's a fantastic look. 8 minutes ago, sara_gd said: Actually nobody seemed excited for the band, it was a bit weird. I honestly didn't think they would be, they have been "under the radar" for quite some time with their trilogy promo being a disaster and all that. They're getting more and more attention now with the RevRad promo, so I'm guessing next time they release an album random people will get more excited again I watched yesterday's show today and they had Norah Jones as the musical guest who coincidentally releases her new album on the same day as GD I felt like Jimmy Fallon seemed pretty excited when he announced them for the following show

The thing is, people don't really know who is going to be a guest on the show until the week of/days before. So for many, as they are not necessarily up to date and all, it was a surprise. I mean, sure they may like Green Day, but the audience isn't necessarily entirely comprised of the biggest Green Day fans either.

That's why it was weird! I'm not saying anything bad/against those people, they were just there to watch the show because they liked the show! But it was weird for me to have Green Day come on with no excitement and start playing and no one moving or anything. But, I got to hear BJ's voice live with no interruption, that's a plus
stories and songs Posted October 7, 2016 Posted October 7, 2016 Billie in that leather studded jacket is the greatest thing I've ever seen in my life.

I mean aren't tickets to these kind of shows sold out for months before the guests are even announced? or were you just lucky?
