I think the red carpet is in almost 2 hours and the show starts an hour after the red carpet. So depends if you want to eat before or during the show

Global Icon award  I'm assuming it's pretty big considering only artists like Whitney Houston, Queen, Eminem, Ozzy Osbourne etc. have gotten it so far

Yes, this thing  If it's a big deal, I'd say they'll get a longer performance slot than other people performing on the night (I don't even know who else that will be).

I'm not sure, I think the Academy Lifetime Achievement Award is always like somewhere in the middle of the Oscars, so the Global Icon award might be somewhere in the middle too. But I can definitely imagine it being awarded at the very and and a closing performance by Green Day.

So I just saw an article that the red carpet starts 1.5 hours and not 1 before the show. Sorry about that!
