Further proof that this was, at some point, a concept record. Or....could just be talking about his dad. Or his wife. Or his children. Or someone else.
Harry Potter. Posted October 7, 2016 Posted October 7, 2016 This song is like the trilogy done right.
Natna Posted October 7, 2016 Posted October 7, 2016 This song sounds very trilogy like to me. However musically it sounds like something off nimrod or maybe warning? Great song though and that chorus is amazing

The chorus and verse sound so different. One of my least favorite on the album But....it's my absolute favorite off this album It's alright. What's your favorite, "Bouncing off the Wal"?
PursuitOfEpicness Posted October 7, 2016 Posted October 7, 2016 At first with the intro i'm like ugh i don't know what to expect then i was like damn okay!
That Dude Posted October 7, 2016 Posted October 7, 2016 The instrumentation on this song is just...........WOW. The guitar textures are brilliant and unique. Also, I just thought about Xmas Time of Year and thought I would compare it to the new album. It's got some cool guitar parts too, but Billie's vocals sound much better on RevRad than Xmas. "The Mega-Phone Effect" was in full force on that track. Billie's vocals sound a lot clearer these days. NICE!

I think that is clear

solongfromthestars Posted October 7, 2016 Posted October 7, 2016 I love this song more every time I listen to it! My favourite part is "and the picket line screamed whoa-oh-oh", the way he sings it is fab. 43 minutes ago, thatdude03 said: YOUNG BLOOD YOUNG BLOOD YOUNG BLOOD YOUNG BLOOD YOUNG BLOOD PUNCH DRUNCH AND YOUNG BLOOD Otherwise known as the song that's going to make Green Day huge again! I feel like this post is going to follow me everywhere because the atrocity (thanks for that I'm going to call it that now) is catchy (It did make me snort though... as in snort with amusement, not snort something that makes me feel like a cello)
TheUnforgiven Posted October 7, 2016 Posted October 7, 2016 Funny thing I noticed today, lyrics in the CD booklet for this track are wrong. It's listed as "Looking for a buzz, but all I got was Santa Clause" but Billie clearly says "Looking for a cause but all I got was Santa Clause". The second chorus used "cause", so I think it was a screw-up by whoever typed them up.
weaselcam Posted October 7, 2016 Posted October 7, 2016 Really Like this song! Is anyone else hearing a different song (not necessarily a green day song) in the Opening measures? it sounds very reminiscent of something but cannot place my finger on it.
LiamSmiffyBoi Posted October 7, 2016 Posted October 7, 2016 It's almost impossible for me to choose between Too Dumb To Die or Forever Now as a favourite song on the album. I've never been this undecided before, guess I'll just call them both my favourite.
PoisonLemonade Posted October 8, 2016 Posted October 8, 2016 I'm aware its been discussed, but the intro of the song is probably the biggest negative I have with this entire album. So out of place, unnecessary and no connection to the song. I really don't understand it, its completely out of context. Other than that this songs nails some insanely catchy verses and I love the end of the second chorus. Gotta keep the listeners on their feet.
gerardsangel4977 Posted October 8, 2016 Posted October 8, 2016 Ahhh, this is some straight-up classic Green Day right here. But not worn and tired sounding, as I feared it might be (especially since it's borrows it's title from a trilogy song. One that I actually like, but still left me expecting a lesser version of the same. "Sex, Drugs, and Violence" 2.0 with less Mike and more silly lyrics!) It is interesting to see the same phrase used in a very different context here. SD&V seemed to be using it in the literal sense of education and being stupid. And it always depressed me, whereas this song is oddly...uplifting? Maybe it's just the music, but I get much more positive feels from this overall. Love the mentions of his dad, and my fave part is definitely "Looking for a cause/And all I got was camouflage". SO much meaning here, lots of layers. I dig it.
Metadon Posted October 8, 2016 Posted October 8, 2016 I just love the intro and that sound, Billies voice is incredibly sentimental here
Platypus2000 Posted October 8, 2016 Posted October 8, 2016 The chorus is impossible not to sing along to, no matter how nonsense it sounds, it's sounds fucking awesome.
spark in the night Posted October 9, 2016 Posted October 9, 2016 When he sings "too dumb to die" I think of No Pride "close your eyes and die, I've got no pride" and I can hear a little bit of Nimrod in it. I dig it. A classic Green Day song.
Haushinka! Posted October 10, 2016 Posted October 10, 2016 This is quickly becoming my favorite track on the album! I love everything about it - the melody, Billie's vocals, and the lyrics. I agree with @spark in the night - I definitely get a Nimrod vibe, which is awesome!
bloodymurderbitch Posted October 10, 2016 Posted October 10, 2016 I'm surprised people don't like the intro, it's my favorite part of the song. I dig it. He sounds amazing, and kind of fucked in the head. I think you can find many meanings in those first few lines especially the way he sings them.
