I only heard 30 sec of Still Breathing and it really resambles new blink...

I'm waiting for a full lenght of high quality. Anyway, I don't like it. I think this is one of the most shallow songs :/ but the rest must be fast and loud:runaround:

It's inspiring, it's catchy, it's a fast ballad of sorts, and for casual GD listeners, it ties into probably one of the freshest images of the band in their mind—Billie going to rehab. It's gonna be huge.

That's true, this and Revolution Radio do have a strong trilogy sound. And I don't like it.

Why? The chorus is super catchy.

It's like a song avril lavigne produced by pearl jam, but I like it anyway.

I don't like the trilogy influence for the same reasons as I don't like the trilogy.

I don't like this song specifically for the same reasons as I don't like California. Generic pop songs. Something I really thought Green Day were above of.

I'm just glad this song uses real instruments compared to most of the pop crap that's out there.

I don't really know what to think about it... my first thought was "what... the... fuck..."

Just going to leave my review at that for now. Damn... was not expecting that sound for this song.

Im afraid that if Green Day puts out a cover of "Candle in the wind" , someone would post "it's obvious that this come from the Trilogy"........

Everyone who is unsure about still breathing should listen to the new blink

And you have rose-tinted glasses. There's a very strict set of rules your songs need to apply to in order for them to do well in America. You need to be a country singer, Drake, or have EDM beats. Green Day's very far from that and this song's performance won't be any better than moderate success on the rock charts.

@matt i think he sings
I dodged a bullet and I walked across a landmine
not

I doge a bullet and I walk across a landmine

You don't know what you're missing :P Trilogy was the best thing that happened to Green Day. They started to sound like themselves again.

I don't think it sounds that generic. I mean it's a pop song, but it's a good pop song. Unlike California which is full of shitty songs.

Wow, that certainly is different from the past two. To be honest, it really does remind me California by b182, which isn't a bad thing, I love that album.

Not seeing the comparisons to new blink, but then again I really hated that record and enjoy this.

Hmm this is so poppy...

Then, it's kinda bland on first listen.

I hate to say it but you're right. Some songs do break out of that though - it won't be Drake and that music style forever. And I haven't heard the song yet but it'd be super awesome if Still Breathing made an impact.

So this song was pretty unique for me.

I wasn't always a Green Day fan. To be honest when American Idiot came out I hated it because my best friend was obsessed and it was all he listened to. I think the nature of the JOS music video in particular is what attracted me (and i'm sure it did many others if you are honest with yourselves). I hate to admit it, but I WAS that edgy, annoying, little fucking shit-head that many of the older fans i'm sure were embarrassed of when GD attracted all of them.

And while I look back on those days and cringe, there has always been something about Green Day that stuck. I started getting into their older stuff and I think many can relate, there is just something about the band, their personalities, and their stage presence that retains fans. I'm not really a fan of modern day rock, besides blink and Green Day really. Anyways through the years and maturing I think many can relate when I say there have been some moments where listening to Green Day actually brings some tears to your eyes.

It's been a LONG time since that has happened for me... but it happened for this song. It took a couple listens, but there was one line in particular that I noticed when listening to the lyrics and it sent chills down my spine.

It reminded me of why I got into Green Day in the first place. It threw me back to some weird dark shit in my past that I have grown so far away from. It made me realize how much I have matured over the years. Shit I put myself through that really isn't part of my life today. Decisions I made and decisions to change.

Older Green Day songs have made me cry for various reasons. This is the first song that made me cry happy tears. Anyways, thank you Green Day!

That's what I meant by desperate. :tired:

This song is obviously trying to be the major pop hit of the record like 21 guns and BOBD, its aiming for that Cathartic feel, and trying to relate to emotional dilemmas that people face in their life and in my humble opinion, still breathing is trying too hard to connect with the people. It does not live up to the benchmark that 21 guns and bobd set Honestly Green Day are better than this.
