Since Still Breathing is now said to be pop and the song RR is pop punk, the rest must me pretty hard hitting and fast right..? Bearing in mind, this is the exact same guy who back in 2012 said the Trilogy songs were "The best songs he'd ever written", before saying he "never wrote his best songs while he was fucked up" and that they had "no direction whatsoever" this year. What I'm saying is, he was marketing an album, even if he loves the songs he has lie about them a little bit. I do love this new song though.

People who have heard this album in its entirety are saying that it is going to put them back on the map. And based on the four songs I've heard, I believe them. I think that, lyrically and sonically, what we have gotten so far has been fantastic. There also absolutely no basis for you saying they will never reach those heights again. You have no clue what they can or will do...nobody does. That's one of the things that has me so excited. I'm in love with the songs that we have so far AND I know that there is still so much that we have heard talked about that we haven't actually heard yet. So all those exciting things are still to come. I love Dookie, but to say they can't ever make better music than whats on that album or American Idiot is silly.
Harry Potter. Posted September 22, 2016 Posted September 22, 2016 Now that we've heard a third of the album, it looks like they needed a producer to stay in focus. Not saying a producer would guarantee a more successful project, but it looks like on their own they couldn't pull together a full cohesive project. Think of how weird Still Breathing will sound when played right after Revolution Radio. It's like they're from two completely different eras of the band.

okotavio Posted September 22, 2016 Posted September 22, 2016 Jesus Christ I'm sensing so much FEELINGS This song is amazing, his voice is amazing and sweet to the ears, the clean riff is awesome (it kinda reminds me of my Katy Perry's favorite song ), the lyrics are touching It's definitely gonna be one of my favorites ever. The melodies are great and sweet. It's as simple as I expected. I never expected complex songs and I like that they're keeping it simple. I can't believe we're gonna get a record with both Bang Bang and Still Breathing. It's gonna be great. 18 minutes ago, DookieLukie said: I was just hoping for something more complex and experimental. Like stuff from 21CB or Brutal Love or Kill the DJ. Also, where are the horns and orchestra coming in to this album? Or the bow guitar? I'm guessing Forever Now will bring all of these
JardyOfSuburbia Posted September 22, 2016 Posted September 22, 2016 For what it's worth, my mom who is 60 and lost her parents when she was 10, her sister a few years back, and may now have cancer (awaiting test results) she said this song is her new anthem.

There's good parts of DRB, but it has a ridiculous amount of yeaheahaehahe filler. JOS is the pinnacle of why the band can write great shit. Roller coaster from start to finish

I prefer AI and 21st CB more because they cover more topics and each song sounds different. In my opinion, a lot of the tracks on Dookie sounded the same. I think this album will defintely be up there.

You would think after all this time they could do it on their own though.

Khaleesi. Posted September 22, 2016 Posted September 22, 2016 I don't know, maybe I'm weird for not caring if all the songs on an album sound similar/flow together perfectly? As long as I enjoy the music, who cares? I listen to my music on shuffle anyway

She has to have her tonsils out in a few weeks and they hope that's all she will have to do. They're taking them out for something in her throat that could be cancerous but we don't know for sure.

Brutalitops Posted September 22, 2016 Posted September 22, 2016 DRB is not a good song. JOS is one of the greatest songs of all times. Hell, American Eulogy, Homecoming and their cover of A Quick One While He's Away are all much better than DRB. But to remain on topic, Still Breathing is nothing special, but I am stupid excited for Forever Now

Someone could say they like DRB over JoS. It's not a factual thing man!
21guns&novacaine Posted September 22, 2016 Posted September 22, 2016 If they co-wrote a few songs with some other musicians, doesn't that count as being experimental? It's something they've never done for Green Day. Aside from a duet here and there, there's never been another artist stepping in to help lyrically or sound-wise.
Juls Posted September 22, 2016 Posted September 22, 2016 Just heard Still Breathing and I think it's my favourite so far! It's poppy but I don't agree with people who say it's generic. Personally I think this is the most emotional song Billie's written since WMUWSE. And I love the lyrics.
Chin for a Day Posted September 22, 2016 Posted September 22, 2016 I'm surprised about all the people that are complaining that it sounds so different from anything they have ever done before. Isn't that one of the reasons we love this band?? That they are always trying something different?
