Wow, I picked a winner!  Say Goodbye stood out on first listen while the other ones I hadn't heard yet took some getting used to.  But now like every Green Day release, I love every song.    Least favorites at the moment are Bouncing off the Wall and Trouble Times but they are actually good songs.

It did for me too. It's so different and powerful. I voted for Still Breathing though because that song is so powerful too and personal. It's still my overall favorite.

I went with Troubled Times for now, because the lyrics are fantastic and I just know it's the kind of song I could listen to 500 times and not get tired of. It immediately became a favorite.

That said, I've never reacted to a new Green Day song the way I reacted to hearing Say Goodbye for the first time. I thought I was going to have a heart attack.  Seriously though, there are no bad songs on this album, or songs that I even dislike, so this was a really tough choice.

its hard to pick one, i like around four or five songs after listening the whole album first time. these are my favorites

somewhere now

outlaws

too dumb to die

troubled time

ordinary world

still breathing

revolution radio

wow! looking at this list now i think i like most of the album haha!!

I chose Forever Now but I may have chosen Ordinary World if I wasn't already so used to it from the movie. The latter is just so beautiful and we "average' people can relate with the lyrics more so than the members of Green Day, haha. Their world is anything but ordinary!

With those songs out of the way, I also like Bouncing off the Walls and Youngblood. Hope they play a bunch of these on the tour!

Hard to decide among all these shitty songs

I voted Bang Bang, but I'm really enjoying Somewhere Now, Say Goodbye, Outlaws and Trouble Times! ;)

It's easy to forget about it since we've heard it a lot by now, but I still think that Bang Bang is the best song on the record. Say Goodbye and Outlaws are really great as well though.

Bouncing Off The Wall, 60's rock n roll with a modern Green Day twist is amazing. Followed closely by Say Goodbye or Forever Now.

EDIT: Forever Now. No words for it. Perfect in every single way.

Well I've only heard three and so far I'm most impressed by "Ordinary World" despite its mainstream feel.  I love the sound and feel of 'Bang Bang' but I struggle with the mix; the vocals are a bit too subtle f and I can't hear them as well as I'd like. And I confess, I haven't listened to "Revolution Radio" enough to form an opinion.  I blew my speaker out playing "East Jesus Nowhere".

Too young to die, Outlaws, bouncing off the walls, bang bang, still breathing in that order!...im more surprised that I remembered my username and password from back in 2012 when I think it was I last logged in haha

I was looking forward to Forever Now the most and It's my absolute favourite! "Is this what you call a good life?" ahh that's my favourite part!

Somewhere now! With Bang Bang and Say Goodbye being close.

The beginning of an album is one of the best beginnings in my whole life. The first 4 songs I mean.

YOUNG! BLOOD! REPRESENT!

No but seriously, it's such a fun song, the entire album feels fun strangely enough, since the 2 first singles made it sound like a very themed album.

You're doing it wrong if you haven't already changed your mind 8 million times :P

Forever Now, with Outlaws a very close second.  Forever Now is epic on the order of magnitude of Homecoming.  It ties together all four different themes I've identified in the album (there may be more!): The world's burning down around me; I want to shake it to its core; inside every old fart is a young punk asking what the fuck happened; and I have too much to lose personally now -- so I'll hunker down with what I cherish and let someone else carry the dynamite......   it does this in a 7+ -minute anthem that's right out of The Who's best, wrapping furious arena rock and a slice of the ballad portion of "Somewhere Now" (thus bookending it!) around punk lyrics that explode the protagonist's conflict between action and passivity, before it gently sets you down for the "Ordinary World" closer.  As if this isn't enough in and of itself, Green Day (who loves to honor their own inspirations and call back to concepts from their other albums by weaving in riffs from them) pulls in riffs from Boston's "More Than A Feeling", The Who's "Quick One", and even their own "The Static Age" along the way.  Incredible, incredible track that gives me the chills and leaves me with a huge smile on my face every time I listen to it.

Spoiler

It sucks that they'll probably never play it live. :ninja:

It's loosely themed -- four different, related topics by my count so far.  I'm looking for more.

Still Breathing. I can relate to much to that song.

Tough.. Say Goodbye, tied with Bang Bang, tied with Troubled Times heh

Revolution Radio a close second.

Its hard to choose with this album because its all so good, but Outlaws stands out, brilliant song!

Got to be Still Breathing even though I've totally overplayed it at this point. Will definitely become one of my favourite songs of all time :)

Still Breathing, Outlaws, Youngblood, and Bang Bang are all liked tied at #1 for me. :shok: I couldn't participate in the poll because just choosing one felt like betrayal to me.

Bang Bang, Somewhere Now, and Outlaws are standouts for me.

Forever Now is the perfect track off the record, hands down. I'd LOVE to see them play that one live!

FOREVER NOW.

My god it's like Green Day grew up and put out something that somehow culminated the last 40 years of rock history.  I hear so many influences and yet, they're still themselves.

I just listened to it again and I realized they also SELF-reference their entire history through the course of the song.  Holy shit that's poignant.
