Oh man I'm so sorry for you guys who booked travel and accommodation to get to these shows :( And everyone else who was going too, hopefully you'll all still get to see them at some point.

I had swine flu earlier this year and I literally couldn't get out of bed in the end. Made the mistake of trying to go to uni one day and collapsed before I got to the bus stop, and I'm not someone who doesn't take illness well. It's really not an option to fly and play shows in that state at their age and with Jason having had cancer. I'm sure they don't take letting the fans down lightly.

Yeah I had that once (actually caught it when I went to see FBHT , a load of us got it) and it was the most ill I've ever been in my life, barely able to move or eat for days, hallucinating from fever, completely out of action. Before I thought of colds and flu as being similar but noooo they're really not. I wouldn't expect anyone to do anything but rest in a condition like that much less put on a show and I'm sure they must feel bad about it. I just wish them a quick recovery so it can be out of the way and they can get on and enjoy the album coming out and the shows they are playing and everything.

No, it never crossed my mind. What did cross my mind however was how insensitive, uncaring, self-centered and quick to jump to conclusions some Green Day fans can be. These guys have the flu or something similar. We don't know the extent of it. We don't know if they are under doctor's orders. I have had the flu a could of times and ended up flat on my back for weeks...so it could be like that. Also, Jason has just recovered from cancer so his recovery time could conceivably be longer. Who knows tho.

Have a little respect for the mods that asked us not to speculate about the addiction issues, will ya?

Funnily enough so did I (well not really funny) from the London show the week prior. Was my first show seeing them on barrier and then the next day was dead continuing for the next two months.

Well, disappointing for those who were prepared with tickets and for travelling but health comes first. Get well soon boys!

Jesus, same. For their sake (and ours) I hope they make a super speedy recovery, because this club tour isn't long at all. I think I counted eight remaining dates. I'm sure they want to get in as many as possible before playing stadiums. It just really, really sucks all around. I know they're so anxious to get back on the road, and we're all excited to see them. The delay is frustrating for everyone involved.

I will go ahead and speculate on possible reschedules...October 11 for St Louis, October 12 for Chicago, and October 13 or 14th for Detroit.  That's during the week off and the only open date at The Pageant that week.  Its going in the wrong direction headed back East, but those details probably don't matter quite as much...logistically it should go Detroit, Chicago, St Louis....but...

It's still all around the Midwest and technically the Midwest is generally on their way back from the east coast.

Good find looking into the open dates. Only criticism I have is that the pagent may not do shows period on Sunday's. That's why it's open. I think it's more likely that we will have to wait until after the 20th. Either that, or they may just have to cancel st. louis. (As the other 2 venues have plenty more openings)

edit: they could also just add st. louis to a much later date that works when they head back to the Midwest for the arena tour. And pick up Detroit and chicago on their way back to California. Im sure they will figure something out that in an effort to not disapoint fans.

Tbh I highly doubt they would add any of those postponed dates this year, rather just include them in the second round of America tour when (if) they're doing arenas and keep those small shows as a treat.

But they actually have almost 3 months with nothing, the middle of Oct to the middle of Jan.  I really can't imagine they would start the tour with a small promo then take 3 months off.  I would imagine they would try and get these shows in then.  They are not going to want to keep these people hanging.

Good point, just seems since they said they would reschedule that will at least attempt to do that for those three shows.  Seems they would have said the same for Toronto if they were just talking about next years tour....

You don't know that they're doing nothing? They announced this tour with around 3 weeks before it started, they could very well do that again with an Asian tour (which they always do at the beginning of any album release), or for any other part of the world that wasn't included in the dates released.

Or, crazy concept, they want to slowly ween their way back into the road and still spend time with their family? They'll have to be traveling around for album promotions too? No, not 3 months of nothing at all.

No I don't know that they are doing nothing, but you apparently know that they aren't.  All I can do is go on the information that I have at hand and that information is that there is 3 months of nothing scheduled.  What a crazy concept to actually use the information I have instead of trying to act like I know what they are doing.  From a marketing perspective, it would be in their best interest to reschedule those concerts as soon as possible.  These people are disappointed and with a record release coming in a couple of weeks, they want to look as good as they can.  People get sick, you can't control that, but they can try and rectify the issue as soon as possible.

Now my speculation,  I would not think they would squeeze in an Asian tour, there isn't enough time because I would assume they want to spend the holidays with their families.  They very well could be doing the talk show circuit in that timeframe, but there would probably be some time to try and get those shows in as well.  That is if the venue is available.

I'm just waiting for them to decide that they aren't going to make enough money off of these shows to reschedule them/it'll be a logistical nightmare to reschedule so they'll outright cancel them, or they'll reschedule them at big venues in order to make money. At that point, they need to refund our tickets because I will not be happy with paying $75 for a ticket in a huge venue.

I think they'll reschedule at least two of them.
