f I am wondering that myself,..i don't think AI film will never get off ground,beside it is kind of late and Billie is getting older now to played St.Jimmy..but I am hoping it not case.

I bet the AI movie isn't happening.

On another note, how usual is it for bands to have some kind of exclusivity deals with media (and how do they work)? It's always the same magazines Green Day appear in, mostly in the same order (news breaks in Rolling Stone, then Kerrang does a huge story etc etc.) and they rarely do other interviews than a couple at the beginning of the promo campaign and it's usually a couple of the same mags.

I think it is up to band and the magazine..if  they asked for exclusive interview...

Billie said that they were making a American Idiot movie back in November but what is happening??

Probably will take a while. If you want it to be good, should take time. Like mentioned earlier, it's 13 years late, what's any more time?

Because as time goes by, they are losing the last bit people that once were fans or cared for the album.

I agree, Eric. They are beating a dead horse with AI instead of focusing on the present.

I'll probably like the movie if they end up pulling through with it but they don't need to go back and revisit AI again.

Unfortunately, I think that AI has never been more relevant than it is today.

Because if I remember correctly, we have an American Idiot sitting in the White House right now.

To be fair people said the same thing about Heart Like A Hand Grenade and a million years later it got released so moral of the story is you never know with Green Day

when is anniversary? or maybe they will wait until RevRad tour end. Then they start the AI production?..because producting film is very long and hard work.

That's unfortunately very true.

Trump is as a blessing in disguise for Green Day. I believe they'll put out another album before his presidency ends.

They might not get the chance. With all the chaos in the Trump administration, I wouldn't be surprised if he was impeached within the next 6 months

15th anniversary is 2019...and the 20th in 2024  

I don't really see anything wrong with milking AI for all its worth (it's the 20th highest selling album of the 21st Century) but it would be a little annoying if they were working on a movie while RevRad promo was still going on. At least with the musical, they incorporated some 21CB songs which was a bit of promo for that album too.

Please let this come true- sooner rather then later.  He's already caused so much damage to our country!  I'm terrified to see what will happen if he is in office for much longer!

Hate to say it but we're only a few months away from 2018. And for a 2019 release they would have to start filming in 2018 so he'll only be a year or less older than he is now. He can still do it. It would be a good project between albums if HBO had a script ready. If it happens we'll hear about it once they start casting, that's usually when announcements are made for film projects.

Well I didn't  mean Billie is old but he is not getting younger either.

.god..I really wanted to know how they will handle this?.. What is storyline? is Billie going to be leading or supporting actor in this movie? and I hope it not only be HBO because I don't have channel!
