Chin for a Day Posted November 29, 2016 Posted November 29, 2016 I'm starting to hear Still Breathing on the radio, on a regular basis.

I wish this was on mainstream radio, because it could so easily be a hit with the masses. I'm sick of my friends being like "Green Day is still a band?"

Rumpelstiltskin2000 Posted December 1, 2016 Posted December 1, 2016 NME have released their 50 essential records from 2016 and Green Day come in at number 12 with Revolution Radio (is that 12/50 or 39? I'm not sure) Link to article here: http://www.nme.com/list/nme-best-albums-2016-1869261?utm_source=twitter&utm_medium=social This is what they have to say about Revolution Radio: Hollywood star turned right-wing poster boy Ronald Regan was in the White House when Green Day formed in 1986. George Bush Senior then betrayed his people over taxes when Green Day dropped ‘Kerplunk’ in 1991 and 2004’s ‘American Idiot’ was the perfect zeitgeist-defining soundtrack to the ‘information age of hysteria’ when Bush Jr was pummelling the Middle East. While less explicitly political than ‘American Idiot’, ‘Revolution Radio’ instead used the energy and bite of punk to rush through the fractures in real life; a terrifying, post-truth society under the Trump Empire. Green Day – we need them now more than ever. Green Day have also made it onto Radio X's Best 25 albums of 2016 Link here: http://www.radiox.co.uk/x-lists/best-albums-all-time/the-best-albums-of-2016/?lf=580fc103215daa68c7de6a9b38b48b26#PSqf2GlisXcLx4sU.97 This is what they have to say about Revolution Radio: Lean, polished, but still angry, the trio’s punk-pop journey into the social upheaval of the US continues. In times of political change and unrest, we need them more than ever.
RedundantIdiot Posted December 2, 2016 Posted December 2, 2016 Revolution Radio is #3 in the UK rock album chart. No singles from Rev Rad are in the rock songs chart.
Christian's Inferno! Posted December 2, 2016 Posted December 2, 2016 Revolution Radio is at No. 76 on the Billboard 200, up from 109 last week and currently No. 43 on the Top Album Sales chart, up from 58 32 minutes ago, Whatsername_123 said: Revolution Radio is #3 in the UK rock album chart. St. Jonny Posted December 2, 2016 Posted December 2, 2016 Was at Walmart, always look to see what GD albums they have just to see. Said on the thing above RevRad that it was #5 on Walmart's album chart thing, not that it matters. Just thought I'd mention it, it should be doing way better, people just don't buy music, it's lame. Going to buy my gf's mom the album for Xmas and probably my bassist too since they got tickets to upcoming shows but don't have the album. Perfect gift!
End Of The World Posted December 6, 2016 Posted December 6, 2016 Guys, we have some good news: Still Breathing finally entered the top ten in the Alternative Billboard chart, at #8! http://www.billboard.com/charts/alternative-songs It did better than Working Class Hero, that peaked at #10, and it's just one place under Welcome to Paradise, second single from Dookie. Talking about other charts, #9 on the Mainstream Rock and #7 on the Rock Airplay. This is definitely good compared to the second and the third single of the trilogy. In fact Let Yourself Go peaked at #17 on the Alternative, while Kill the DJ didn't chart on anything but the UK 200 singles. Hopefully SB will still increase. And here in Italy they're starting to play it on the radio frequently. Let's see...

I'd like to see it chart well in some other countries too however, like Bang Bang did

I'm not saying like BOBD or WMUWSE but at least something relevant for the radio (KYE or 21 Guns for example)...

Hopefully it'll be a good while before it stops. If GD start promoting it more e.g performing it on TV, then it'll do even better. So I think SB still has a lot more to give. It should be able to top the main rock/alternative charts in the US. If it gets onto the Hot 100 that'll be great
Chin for a Day Posted December 8, 2016 Posted December 8, 2016 People Magazine named Revolution Radio its 3rd best album of 2016.

bouncingoffthewallbja Posted December 8, 2016 Posted December 8, 2016 I'm so happy that RevRad is (more-or-less) getting the attention that it deserves!! It's fabulous!

St. Jonny Posted December 8, 2016 Posted December 8, 2016 Well, grabbing two more albums when I do Xmas shopping tomorrow, one for my bassist and one for the girlfriends mom. I want people to listen to it! It takes many listens for it to make it's full impression.

St. Jonny Posted December 8, 2016 Posted December 8, 2016 I meant people who don't follow the band quite like us. I loved it on first listen and more and more every time. Some people I have showed it to, just don't really care for it. They just need to give the full album a couple listens, it isn't very long. But they aren't going to buy it on their own. Good Xmas gift!
