spark in the night Posted August 11, 2016 Posted August 11, 2016 I love it I love it I love. I was really nervous. I heard a 3-second clip and I was nervous because I didn't care for the "daddy's little solider.." part -- reminds me of 21CB. But nah this is really good. That intro got me.
Tubbie Head Posted August 11, 2016 Posted August 11, 2016 There hasn't been a time when I listened to it without smiling or getting chills. It's purfect.
JoshDaveJones Posted August 11, 2016 Posted August 11, 2016 I did quite like some of the trilogy songs, but fuck me they're back! (Excuse my french.) It sounds like it should've been on 21CB but flows like an AI song? It's so hard to put my finger on; can't stop listening to it.
Christian's Inferno! Posted August 11, 2016 Posted August 11, 2016 It's amazing how different this sounds from the trilogy. It's like a completely different band wrote it
Strychnine. Posted August 11, 2016 Posted August 11, 2016 Man, I am really loving this song! It's everything I was hoping Green Day would do, but not at all what I was expecting.
sherribomb Posted August 11, 2016 Posted August 11, 2016 I love the aggressive sound so much. I think it's really time for rock music to be angry again.
Asik Posted August 11, 2016 Posted August 11, 2016 Damn waited for a new song 2 years. Cant believe Billie couldnt come up with something more complicated, Cause we all know how genius he is. Theres nothing new in the song. Sad sad sad so sad
Met Fan Posted August 11, 2016 Posted August 11, 2016 I'd say I like it, it's definitely a grower type song so maybe I'll love it later, if I had to say something negative it'll be that the chorus is not as catchy as previous lead singles, by Green Day standards.
sherribomb Posted August 11, 2016 Posted August 11, 2016 But guys, something we need to remember, the singles are never really as good as the non-single tracks.

Agreed. I like the song but i feel like its nowhere near AI or KYE as single, even Oh Love got me more than Bang Bang, especially on that beautiful chorus. Still looking forward to hear the rest of the songs
Steven Seagull Posted August 12, 2016 Posted August 12, 2016 This is true lol. On first listen I was like. Where's the chorus?
DannyDirnt Posted August 12, 2016 Author Posted August 12, 2016 What I love is how different the reactions are from when Oh Love was released. The trilogy got mixed reactions from the start, with many people criticising it. Yet this time everyone seems to be thoroughly happy, satisfied and excited. Everyone loves the song, and that's something Green Day will definitely feel proud of! After all this is what they've always wanted, happy fans.
AlissaGoesRAWR Posted August 12, 2016 Posted August 12, 2016 The first time I heard it I kind of felt like my brain was melting (in a good way). I couldn't even follow what was going on lyrically because I couldn't stop thinking "HOLY SHIT IT'S SO GOOD!" and freaking out about the fastness and just the overall sound of it. It definitely blew me away. Up until this point, the trilogy was the only album I followed through its entire release process. I remember when I first listened to Oh Love I kept waiting for the song to "start" and it just kept dragging on at the same slow, uninspired pace. I was confused after I listened to it and my only thought was "meh, it's OK" and I had to almost force myself to enjoy it and convince myself it was good. But after Bang Bang ended, all I could think was "DAYUM, now THAT is a first single!"

Should have done nuclear family, stay the night or let yourself go first when it came to not only single but also music video as well

It got you waiting for that catchy chorus. And by that time we already heard Stay The Night so that wouldn't work.
N A I Posted August 13, 2016 Posted August 13, 2016 Somewhere between like and love (voted I love it). Quite a handbanger though
