Well, nobody has heard the album....soooo, gotta kinda fill this topic  up with some sort of banter?  No?

Check and....Mate

O.K. Let's talk about the probable next single 'Revolution Radio'.    Anyone have an opinion on whether it will be a ballad or a fast paced gem like Bang Bang?

No. If you have some banter about the new album go ahead, but if you don't feel there's anything to say about the new album you just don't post in this thread until there is.

dang...sorry.  Just trying to have fun.  This is the pussification of America.  Give the same awards to the little league baseball champs and to all the teams they defeated.  Ok...   I won't type another snippet in this topic until this album comes out.  Brexit was a great idea.  If I was a Mod, and I should be because I'm Illuminati, I would make more topics to talk about anything and you won't get in trouble by the authority.  I love green day, I love the mods...peace and love, peace and love, - Ringo Starr

Did you get any banter from the announcer - here in Brisbane they are just playing the song with no comments.

Yeah they said something quick like "that was green day's new song that came out today"

Hearing it in public was a great feeling, feels so more real now.

What stations are they playing the song on if you don't mind sharing?

I'd like to hear the recorded version of Ordinary World from the movie. I wonder if the revrad version will be different. I really liked the song as we heard it live. It's such a simple song that the record can either turn out super cheesy or pure.

Just pre-ordered the Vinyl as well as the lyric book and CD. The hype is real.

Is it wrong that I think Ordinary World is better than Bang Bang? It should be their next single. To me it sounds like a great closer.

So excited it's finally all happening. Really happy about the title.

I'm quite afraid it might be cheesy :(

Not that I don't trust their producing skills, they did an awesome job with Bang Bang. But since he played the song live in April makes me think that is pretty much how the song will end up on the record. Maybe with some strings in it or guitar bow (never heard of that thing before)

I don't know, I just wish it wasn't on the new record. But here's me hoping the album version will prove me wrong.

Random question, do purchases / pre-orders from all avenues (official site, Amazon, iTunes, etc) contribute towards the album's opening week chart place?

I really like the song too. I would imagine it would make a great live closer after Brutal Love. It was so calm, emotional and...good when he played it.

So am I right in saying that those track names are correct, but the lengths are not confirmed? Sorry I'm just a bit confused about this!

Brutal Love, Ordinary World and then Good Riddance (in that order) as a closer sounds like the perfect ending of a concert

Me too. I really hope they'll  pull it off. It has a potential to be great.

I'd prefer if they didn't recycle songs because it would be better to hear more new songs but I still can live with it as long as they don't make it cheesy.

Can't be more cheesy than The Forgotten. With the Twilight video no less.

Yes. Every pre-order counts towards Billboard/national charts and first-day sales

Wonder what the meaning behind Revolution Radio is. Judging by the Rolling Stone interview, it doesn't have to do with destroying pop punk lol. I'm curious what the actual meaning of it it and why it's actually called revolution radio

Well they are destroying pop punk with their new sound. I mean that Bad Religion-ish sound of "Bang Bang" took the term pop punk, sliced it with a machette and brutally murdered it.

I think if you compare the trilogy (which could maybe be classed as pop-punk) to the new song, you sorta get why Billie Joe talked about killing pop-punk. I liked the trilogy but maybe that's what he meant by that? Like, blowing the trilogy (and its lighter sound) out of the water.

Or maybe he was just talking shit and didn't even really know what he meant himself
