DannyDirnt Posted September 30, 2016 Posted September 30, 2016 Really it's one of their strongest albums ever. It's amazing how the response from the fans is SO positive, like all of us absolutely love the album. I remember how mixed our reactions to the trilogy were.
Bakabanas Posted September 30, 2016 Posted September 30, 2016 Green Day: making my bus trips not boring since 2008. It's 12AM October 1st, wkae me up when september ends. This album is a grower.

Dakke Posted September 30, 2016 Posted September 30, 2016 I can't get over the awesomeness of "If this is what you call the good life, I want a better way to die". A pretty succinct description of how I feel about the upcoming elections.

I remember feeling very defensive about the trilogy when it first came out. (I was a new fan around that time) And now that a few years have passed I look back and cringe. Yes, they had good songs, it was just the random way they were presented that threw it all off haha. So far it sounds like the album is amazing, can't wait to hear it.

Yeah, what I've heard of Revrad so far feels more like a sequel to 21stCB, and it's great. The Trilogy was just kinda the mid-life crisis albums to get to this point.

It's a natural evolution, yet I feel as though without the Trilogy and everything they've been through in the intermittent years (including the trainwreck that was the Trilogy), Revolution Radio would not have been as personal and powerful as it is. 21CB is one of my favorite albums, but it isn't as personal as RevRad is because there's this sense of redemption and a new breath of life that RevRad exudes on all levels.
Slash Posted September 30, 2016 Posted September 30, 2016 I won't say their strongest album. The album which was different and stood out the most will be American Idiot.

jordanlolss Posted September 30, 2016 Posted September 30, 2016 I still cannot get over how good Forever Now is. I listen to it multiple times a day. Hands down the best song they've done since JOS (imo of course). It's SO GOOD!! And the reprise of Somewhere Now. hnngg
Christian's Inferno! Posted September 30, 2016 Posted September 30, 2016 I think the problem with the trilogy is they didn't have anything to say but after Billie's meltdown and the current state of America/the world, Billie had much more to write about than he did for the trilogy. I think the main reason for the trilogy is that there was so much pressure for GD to do something big after AI and 21CB but if failed because there was no inspiration for it

Ironically, the most focused record of the three is the much maligned Dos!, which is basically the story of Billie losing control and the most explicit attestation of things getting out of hand. There were simply too many adversities and errors to make the Trilogy a success, down to the concept itself.
gd86arg Posted September 30, 2016 Posted September 30, 2016 What do you prefer: 1. Billie playing guitar for Still Breathing or 2. Billie just singing
Ryan Posted September 30, 2016 Posted September 30, 2016 I love when Billie puts the guitar away and just plays frontman. I wish he would do it more. Nothing against his guitar playing at all, just a personal preference.

DookieLukie Posted October 1, 2016 Posted October 1, 2016 I like when he plays and sings. He looks more complete and into it that way of that makes sense.
