96Tomato Posted September 26, 2016 Posted September 26, 2016 Wow, I didn't expect it to leak so soon, I was guessing maybe the beginning of October. While I'm really tempted to listen, I'm going to wait for the vinyl to arrive, hopefully that comes early
LostCanadianGoose Posted September 26, 2016 Posted September 26, 2016 I'm waiting until tomorrow to listen to this album here in the perfect spot in Denver. Everything everyone is saying is making me super excited.
Teenage Lush Posted September 26, 2016 Posted September 26, 2016 outlaws was one of the songs that didn't really grab me on my first few listens for whatever reason but now i'm listening to it and almost crying. god damnit green day
Guest Posted September 26, 2016 Posted September 26, 2016 Welp, I'm not impressed. No spark, same recycled words and themes....it's just plain boring to me. I feel nothing listening to this album. After nearly 24 years of loving this band, it pains me to say that.
DookieLukie Posted September 26, 2016 Posted September 26, 2016 The "fuck you, I'm from Oakland" line I was excited about didn't disappoint. I like how it took the cheesy lyrics coming from Billie's perspective and answered them with that statement. It was like a punch of reality. Man I need to meet a girl like Adrienne.

Tbh, my Mom's name is Adrienne... but I don't think that's who you have in mind.... or is it.....

KGLWW Posted September 26, 2016 Posted September 26, 2016 I love the fact that a lot of the songs end with something different than just the chorus lyrics being repeated over and over. I'll think the song's just about over with around another minute or so left and it keeps getting more and more interesting instead of just repeating itself.
tdlyon Posted September 26, 2016 Posted September 26, 2016 Pretty disappointed it leaked so early, was really hoping that wouldn't happen. Looks like I'm one of the only ones on here that's waiting for the release date, I've never listened to a leak early and I don't plan on starting now. The mixed reactions in here are only making me more excited though
DookieLukie Posted September 26, 2016 Posted September 26, 2016 I don't mind listening early. I already bought the album and will be supporting the band on tour and in merch.

I'm hoping it will because every other song has, especially too young to die.

PursuitOfEpicness Posted September 26, 2016 Posted September 26, 2016 I'm really going to try to wait because nothing beats the feeling of getting the cd the first day and listening to it for the first time. As well as my excitement, because of these reviews it has dropped down a bit. I wanted something really mindb lowing i really thought this would be really successful like AI or Dookie but I know that was a lot to ask. My fear is that it will get old too fast, but i have hope!

Now I know he was just being a sneaky asshole. I thought that he was referring to a lyric from Uptight from Nimrod. Who'd thunk it?
Haushinka! Posted September 26, 2016 Posted September 26, 2016 I wanted to wait, but screw it. Listening now! Edit: Holy shit! I'm a minute in and already loving it!!!!!

I don't have to self-censor with children in the car- awesome! 2. Sometimes (not always) I find that cursing can be a crutch and/or substitute for better lyrics and vocabulary. It's powerful if slipped into a song because no other word will convey a certain emotion, for example. It's altogether lazy if they're just dropped in there to fill space or try to convey anger when other words/ lyrics would work even better. Oftentimes I find that cursing is a "limiting" crutch that people fall back on due to laziness. Which is a fucking shame! *cough* The Trilogy *cough* Not that I didn't like The Trilogy, I just felt like some of the cursing felt forced at times.
Jonathan of Suburbia Posted September 26, 2016 Posted September 26, 2016 Youngblood is definitely my favorite song on the album. It's so catchy and has this happy energy to it yet it's still driving
DookieLukie Posted September 26, 2016 Posted September 26, 2016 Crazy how things change. Billie sounded like an old man going through a midlife crisis on the Trilogy, singing about sex and parties. But in BOTW he's literally speaking from the POV of his younger self and it comes off as super genuine and clever.

They put their heart and soul into that record just for some asshole to come along and throw it into the world with the band just sitting there watching, knowing that it's already hit too many ears. And i know green day aren't in it for the money but it can mess up their profits too. It's really not that bad. Don't worry I'm sure they'll do fine.
Asa. Posted September 26, 2016 Posted September 26, 2016 Listening to a shitty quality leak at work. All I could get a hold of at the moment. Excited!
Steven Seagull Posted September 26, 2016 Posted September 26, 2016 Still can't believe that we waited 4 years for just 6 good songs. Green Day can do so much better than Somwhere Now that just sounds like a filler.
Josh100_3 Posted September 26, 2016 Posted September 26, 2016 My only concern is the quality...is the rip good? Otherwise ill wait til I pick up the CD or vinyl.
