Reading the opinions here is really something. It starts off not so good, then a wild few pages where all opinions were the polar opposite of each other and now it seems mostly positive! I'm guessing it's a grower!

This album in a nutshell

Damn this is weird to me. Not sure how I feel about it. It's not really what I expected after hearing Bang Bang.

Outlaws is the underwhelming one so far

The way I see it, the only bad song on the album is Outlaws, that song is just kind of boring tbh. It's like Wild One on DOS, it just disrupts the flow I think.

I think the same.

Beside singles, my favorite songs are Somewhere Now, Forever Now and Bouncing Off the Wall

This record rocks, I'm at the fourth listen and I honestly believe it's one of best rock records of this decade. Even a casual listener will appreciate the quality.

Why don't you like Somewhere Now? It's really the best for me. Outlaws and Bouncing Off The Wall are pretty mediocre. Youngblood, Too Dumb to Die and Troubled Times are just okay. So, album is better than the trilogy, but that's not saying much.

I've seen quite a bit of negativity towards Forever Now. This one might be my favourite. Will have to update once I listen for a second time.

After the first listen, the most coherent thing I'm able to express to you about this album is that I dramatically gasped and put my hand over my mouth roughly six times.

This is 60s/70s Warning/21CB Green Day. I am IN LOVE. If it were socially acceptable to scream right now I would, because holy shit. My favorite band just made this AWESOME THING WTF.

Still Breathing is terribly annoying at this point. Instant skip, I will never willingly listen to it again.

People aren't talking enough about what a BADASS song Say Goodbye is. I am ALIVE for that song.

So the songs I like.

OrdinaryWorld, Still Breathing, Revolution Radio, Bouncing Off The Wall, Too Dumb To Die.

The rest are really meh.

Obvious, they fit very well with the trilogy.

Bouncing Off The Wall and Too Dumb To Die are very generic.

I agree that the second part of the record is weaker, but overall the record is decent.

First: I really, really, REALLY miss Devil's Kind on the album

Second: Totally in love with Forever Now, Still Breathing, Outlaws and Bang Bang

Totally influenced by The Who and Beatles, especially in Somewhere Now and Troubled Times

Stranger record, I need time I think but, isn't bad at all. Green Day can do amazing things, interesting songs in the whole album, but maybe we expected a different sound indeed because the difficult moments right now in USA and the pop punk phrase of Billie Joe.... by the way, beautiful songs and lyrics

Not catchy at all, but mature I think, this is Green Day, always with new waves in the industry, not as much as American Idiot, but this just begin, let's see what happens...

"The days into years roll by, its where that I leave it to that guy" I love that they added this line to Ordinary world. Billie sounds so sweet

That's not the line. It's "The days into years roll by It’s where that I live until I die"

And no offence but how the fuck did you think it was that? That would probably be the stupidest lyric of all time lol

Say Goodbye and Troubled Times are, upon first listen, two of my all-time favorite Green Day songs. All-time favorite songs. Heavier/darker Green Day is my favorite and those songs are just incredible. Holy shit. Troubled Times is SOOOOO good I cannot even tell you. The lyrics are amazing, it's dark, it's different.

Such a fucking tune. Between that and Bouncing Off The Wall as my favourite so far

Troubled Times could be such a good song. But it has that horrible verse which ruins it.
