Collabs are hit or miss. Lady Cobra in particular forever soured my taste for GD collaborating with someone. I personally prefer a Beatles/Stones/Ramones/Van Halen cover

Yes, this! I wouldn't say no to a collab with a metal band, either.  

I think that Tre is following a Latin-American groove metal band called De La Tierra on Instagram, which got me excited when I saw it. My first thought was "COLLAB!"

Hmm. I get why you like it and whilst I'm not vehemently opposed to it, I personally prefer a pure Green Day album. They can bring in more variety by themselves I think. Local bands as opening acts, however, is a rad idea and a fitting extension of the #mynewband thing.

Yeah, that depends on how many songs there are on the album. If it's gonna be 18 tracks, a little something different could be great!

My interpretation of that (because it confused me as well) was that Billie was trying to imply that the new album will be like a fresh start for GD, possibly with a new sound and certainly with a new look.

Collaborations in albums is one area Green Day hasn't explored much. Compare them to other mainstream bands like LP and Coldplay. Tbh I would love to see some collaborations in the new album.

Yeah, I agree with that assessment. It is definitely the start of a new era with a new signature Green Day sound.
