I think he is creative enough to where it wont sound forced. Look at American Idiot(right there next to Dookie on my favorite albums of all time).  That was a master piece of politically charged creativity.  America is much different now than it was then, not even necessarily Trump.  Violence and social inequality are more prevalent today than they were then.  The fear that even in a country such as the United States, France, or the UK you might not make it home.  Brexit and other social issues as well.

I just checked the Warner Brothers website and the announcement about the single is not on their news page, I don't think they were quite ready for this to b e out of the bag yet. I hope Billie Joe had permission to post that Instagram last night or he's in big trouble...

The church is quite prominent in Billies Instagram post which they have oviously done deliberately. Therefore, the song (or even the album) might cover religion, terrorism, etc.
