So, I called several local record stores to ask if they knew anything about the upcoming single, and it doesn't seem that there is going to be any physical copies of "Bang Bang." Well, at least not any that are being distributed to record stores (they could be sold from the official website). The weird thing is that one guy went into his computer to check about a digital release on Amazon and said that nothing showed up. How are we going to be able to buy this?

It seems unlikely that the song wouldn't be released digitally. They've always done it.

I don't think it was ever announced that they would release it right away. Just because it is being played on the radio doesn't mean it will be available to buy. Also, we are 5 days away from it being heard for the first time so things may change between now and then

Less than a week away from Bang Bang but we haven't seen the artwork for the single yet. Unless maybe we'll know everything by Friday: Bang Bang (obviously), album name, album cover, album release date, track listing, release date for the second single, and tour dates!!!!

We probably won't see single art work until the song shows up on iTunes, Spotify etc.

I can imagine they're going to wait with the tour dates until the album is either announced or out...

I honestly don't. I'd love to form my own opinion of the song this time around, without bias. That's why I wish I didn't read those first two reviews (although they got me very excited), but I really couldn't help it.

This new song is pretty much the only thing that will get me through surgery recovery. The anesthesia-induced dreams I had about the new album and tour were pretty wild... Anyways, I'm going to sleep for another eternity until we have some legitimate news. Byeee

I actually can't believe it's going to be only 4-5 more days until we get to hear the new song. I don't feel ready yet, not at all.  

I'm pretty sure I will be sitting behind my laptop, listening to the radio livestream with headphones on and with my entire body shaking like a leaf out of anticipation. Maybe shed a tear. Or two. God, I've been waiting so long for this but I feel so unprepared.

411 Music Fact or Fiction – Are We Interested In New Green Day?

You’re interested in a new song from Green Day.

Jeremy Thomas: FACT – I’m always interested when Green Day is about to put out new music. I think that there was a great album or two in Uno, Dos and Tre that was just a bit too spread out and accompanied with filler; with Billie Joe Armstrong back to himself a little bit I expect something more focused from the group. Their first song out will likely be a strong effort as they know they need to come back big, since the last time they were in the news was over Armstrong’s trip to rehab. I think it’s admirable the way that Green Day has outlasted many people’s expectations in regard to their lifespan as a group (including my own), and I’ll definitely give their new music a listen.

Jeff Modzelewski: FICTION – Yes, they’re due for an album, but I don’t see them doing anything too far from what they’ve always done. I got over Green Day pretty early on. Frankly I’m surprised they’ve lasted this long, and I don’t get the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction at all. But they’re still here, they’ll still put out music, but I’m not going to seek it out.
